Leviticus 23

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: (The solemn festivals of Yahweh to which you wil summon them aremy sacred assemblies.) "These are my solemn festivals:	2 Loquere filiis Israël, et dices ad eos : Hæ sunt feriæ Domini, quas vocabitis sanctas.
3 "You wil work for six days, but the seventh wil be a day of complete rest, a day for the sacredassembly on which you do no work at al . Wherever you live, this is a Sabbath for Yahweh.	3 Sex diebus facietis opus : dies septimus, quia sabbati requies est, vocabitur sanctus : omne opus non facietis in eo : sabbatum Domini est in cunctis habitationibus vestris.
4 "These are Yahweh's solemn festivals, the sacred assemblies to which you wil summon the Israeliteson the appointed day:	4 Hæ sunt ergo feriæ Domini sanctæ, quas celebrare debetis temporibus suis.
5 "The fourteenth day of the first month, at twilight, is the Passover of Yahweh;	5 Mense primo, quartadecima die mensis ad vesperum, Phase Domini est :
6 and the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of Unleavened Bread for Yahweh. For seven daysyou wil eat unleavened bread.	6 et quintadecima die mensis hujus, solemnitas azymorum Domini est. Septem diebus azyma comedetis.
7 On the first day you wil hold a sacred assembly; you wil do no heavy work.	7 Dies primus erit vobis celeberrimus, sanctusque : omne opus servile non facietis in eo,
8 For seven days you wil offer food burnt for Yahweh. On the seventh day there will be a sacredassembly; you wil do no heavy work." '	8 sed offeretis sacrificium in igne Domino septem diebus. Dies autem septimus erit celebrior et sanctior : nullumque servile opus facietis in eo.
9 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	9 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
10 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "When you enter the country which I am giving you and reap theharvest there, you wil bring the priest the first sheaf of your harvest,	10 Loquere filiis Israël, et dices ad eos : Cum ingressi fueritis terram, quam ego dabo vobis, et messueritis segetem, feretis manipulos spicarum, primitias messis vestræ, ad sacerdotem :
11 and he wil present it to Yahweh with the gesture of offering, for you to be acceptable. The priest willmake this offering on the day after the Sabbath,	11 qui elevabit fasciculum coram Domino, ut acceptabile sit pro vobis, altero die sabbati, et sanctificabit illum.
12 and on the same day as you make this offering, you wil offer Yahweh an unblemished lamb one yearold as a burnt offering.	12 Atque in eodem die quo manipulus consecratur, cædetur agnus immaculatus anniculus in holocaustum Domini.
13 The cereal offering for that day will be two-tenths of wheaten flour mixed with oil, as food burnt as asmel pleasing to Yahweh. The libation wil be a quarter of a hin of wine.	13 Et libamenta offerentur cum eo, duæ decimæ similæ conspersæ oleo in incensum Domini, odoremque suavissimum : liba quoque vini, quarta pars hin.
14 You wil eat no bread, roasted ears of wheat or fresh produce before this day, before making theoffering to your God. This is a perpetual law for al your descendants, wherever you live.	14 Panem, et polentam, et pultes non comedetis ex segete, usque ad diem qua offeretis ex ea Deo vestro. Præceptum est sempiternum in generationibus, cunctisque habitaculis vestris.
15 "From the day after the Sabbath, the day on which you bring the sheaf of offering, you will countseven ful weeks.	15 Numerabitis ergo ab altero die sabbati, in quo obtulistis manipulum primitiarum, septem hebdomadas plenas,
16 You wil count fifty days, to the day after the seventh Sabbath, and then you wil offer Yahweh a newcereal offering.	16 usque ad alteram diem expletionis hebdomadæ septimæ, id est, quinquaginta dies : et sic offeretis sacrificium novum Domino
17 You wil bring bread from your homes to present with the gesture of offering -- two loaves, made oftwo-tenths of wheaten flour baked with leaven; these are first-fruits for Yahweh.	17 ex omnibus habitaculis vestris, panes primitiarum duos de duabus decimis similæ fermentatæ, quos coquetis in primitias Domini.
18 In addition to the bread, you wil offer seven unblemished lambs a year old, a young bul and tworams, as a burnt offering to Yahweh with a cereal offering and a libation, as food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.	18 Offeretisque cum panibus septem agnos immaculatos anniculos, et vitulum de armento unum, et arietes duos, et erunt in holocaustum cum libamentis suis, in odorem suavissimum Domini.
19 You wil also offer a goat as a sacrifice for sin, and two lambs a year old as communion sacrifice.	19 Facietis et hircum pro peccato, duosque agnos anniculos hostias pacificorum.
20 The priest wil present them before Yahweh with the gesture of offering, in addition to the bread of thefirst-fruits. These, and the two lambs, are holy things for Yahweh, and wil revert to the priest.	20 Cumque elevaverit eos sacerdos cum panibus primitiarum coram Domino, cedent in usum ejus.
21 "On the same day, you will hold an assembly; for you this will be a sacred assembly; you wil do noheavy work. This is a perpetual law for your descendants, wherever you live.	21 Et vocabitis hunc diem celeberrimum, atque sanctissimum : omne opus servile non facietis in eo. Legitimum sempiternum erit in cunctis habitaculis, et generationibus vestris.
22 "When you reap the harvest in your country, you wil not reap to the very edges of your field, nor wilyou gather the gleanings of the harvest. You wil leave them for the poor and the stranger. I am Yahweh yourGod." '	22 Postquam autem messueritis segetem terræ vestræ, nec secabitis eam usque ad solum, nec remanentes spicas colligetis : sed pauperibus et peregrinis dimittetis eas. Ego sum Dominus Deus vester.
23 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	23 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
24 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "The first day of the seventh month wil be a day of rest for you, ofremembrance and acclamation, a sacred assembly.	24 Loquere filiis Israël : Mense septimo, prima die mensis, erit vobis sabbatum, memoriale, clangentibus tubis, et vocabitur sanctum :
25 You wil do no heavy work and you will offer food burnt for Yahweh." '	25 omne opus servile non facietis in eo, et offeretis holocaustum Domino.
26 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	26 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
27 'But the tenth day of this seventh month wil be the Day of Expiation. You wil hold a sacred assembly.You will fast and offer food burnt for Yahweh.	27 Decimo die mensis hujus septimi, dies expiationum erit celeberrimus, et vocabitur sanctus : affligetisque animas vestras in eo, et offeretis holocaustum Domino.
28 You wil do no work that day, for it is the Day of Expiation, on which the rite of expiation will beperformed for you before Yahweh your God.	28 Omne opus servile non facietis in tempore diei hujus : quia dies propitiationis est, ut propitietur vobis Dominus Deus vester.
29 Anyone who fails to fast that day wil be outlawed from his people;	29 Omnis anima, quæ afflicta non fuerit die hac, peribit de populis suis :
30 anyone who works that day I shal eliminate from his people.	30 et quæ operis quippiam fecerit, delebo eam de populo suo.
31 No work wil be done -- this is a perpetual law for your descendants wherever you live.	31 Nihil ergo operis facietis in eo : legitimum sempiternum erit vobis in cunctis generationibus, et habitationibus vestris.
32 It must be a day of complete rest for you. You wil fast; on the evening of the ninth day of the month,from this evening till the fol owing evening, you wil rest completely.'	32 Sabbatum requietionis est, et affligetis animas vestras die nono mensis : a vespera usque ad vesperam celebrabitis sabbata vestra.
33 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	33 Et locutus est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
34 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "On the fifteenth day of this seventh month there wil be the feast ofShelters for Yahweh, lasting for seven days.	34 Loquere filiis Israël : A quintodecimo die mensis hujus septimi, erunt feriæ tabernaculorum septem diebus Domino.
35 The first day wil be a day of sacred assembly; you wil do no heavy work.	35 Dies primus vocabitur celeberrimus atque sanctissimus : omne opus servile non facietis in eo.
36 For seven days you will offer food burnt for Yahweh. On the eighth day you wil hold a sacredassembly and you will offer food burnt for Yahweh. It is a day of solemn meeting; you wil do no heavy work.	36 Et septem diebus offeretis holocausta Domino. Dies quoque octavus erit celeberrimus, atque sanctissimus, et offeretis holocaustum Domino : est enim cœtus atque collectæ : omne opus servile non facietis in eo.
37 "These are Yahweh's solemn festivals to which you wil summon the Israelites, the sacred assembliesfor the purpose of offering food burnt for Yahweh, consisting of burnt offerings, cereal offerings, sacrifices andlibations, each on its appropriate day,	37 Hæ sunt feriæ Domini, quas vocabitis celeberrimas atque sanctissimas, offeretisque in eis oblationes Domino, holocausta et libamenta juxta ritum uniuscujusque diei :
38 besides Yahweh's Sabbaths, and your presents and al your votive and voluntary gifts that you maketo Yahweh.	38 exceptis sabbatis Domini, donisque vestris, et quæ offeretis ex voto, vel quæ sponte tribuetis Domino.
39 "But on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the produce of the land,you wil celebrate the feast of Yahweh for seven days. The first and eighth days wil be days of rest.	39 A quintodecimo ergo die mensis septimi, quando congregaveritis omnes fructus terræ vestræ, celebrabitis ferias Domini septem diebus : die primo et die octavo erit sabbatum, id est, requies.
40 On the first day you wil take choice fruit, palm branches, boughs of leafy trees and flowering shrubsfrom the river bank, and for seven days enjoy yourselves before Yahweh your God.	40 Sumetisque vobis die primo fructus arboris pulcherrimæ, spatulasque palmarum, et ramos ligni densarum frondium, et salices de torrente, et lætabimini coram Domino Deo vestro.
41 You wil celebrate a feast for Yahweh in this way for seven days every year. This is a perpetual lawfor your descendants. "You wil keep this feast in the seventh month.	41 Celebrabitisque solemnitatem ejus septem diebus per annum : legitimum sempiternum erit in generationibus vestris. Mense septimo festa celebrabitis,
42 For seven days you will live in shelters: al the citizens of Israel wil live in shelters,	42 et habitabitis in umbraculis septem diebus : omnis, qui de genere est Israël, manebit in tabernaculis,
43 so that your descendants may know that I made the Israelites live in shelters when I brought them outof Egypt, I, Yahweh your God." '	43 ut discant posteri vestri quod in tabernaculis habitare fecerim filios Israël, cum educerem eos de terra Ægypti. Ego Dominus Deus vester.
44 Moses then promulgated Yahweh's solemn festivals to the Israelites.	44 Locutusque est Moyses super solemnitatibus Domini ad filios Israël.
