Leviticus 1

NEW JERUSALEM	Le Sainte Bible Vigouroux
1 Yahweh summoned Moses and, speaking to him from the Tent of Meeting, said,	1 (Or) Le Seigneur appela Moïse, et, lui parlant du tabernacle du témoignage, il lui dit :
2 'Speak to the Israelites; say to them, "When any of you brings an offering to Yahweh, he can offer ananimal either from the herd or from the flock.	2 Tu parleras aux enfants d'Israël, et tu leur diras : Lorsque quelqu'un d'entre vous offrira au Seigneur une hostie de bêtes à quatre pieds, c'est-à-dire de gros et de petit bétail ; lors, dis-je, qu'il offrira ces victimes,
3 "If his offering is to be a burnt offering from the herd, he must offer an unblemished male; he wil offer itat the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, to make it acceptable to Yahweh.	3 si son oblation est un holocauste, et si elle est de gros bétail, il prendra un mâle sans tache et l'offrira à la porte du tabernacle du témoignage, pour se rendre le Seigneur favorable.
4 He must lay his hand on the victim's head, and it will be accepted as effectual for his expiation.	4 Il mettra la main sur la tête de la victime, et elle sera reçue de Dieu et lui servira d'expiation.
5 He wil then slaughter the bul before Yahweh, and the priests descended from Aaron wil offer theblood. They wil pour it all around the altar which stands at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.	5 (Puis) Il immolera le veau devant le Seigneur, et les prêtres, enfants (fils) d'Aaron, en offriront le sang, en le répandant autour de l'autel qui est devant la porte du tabernacle.
6 He wil then skin the victim and quarter it.	6 Ils enlèveront la peau de la victime, et ils en couperont les membres par morceaux.
7 The priests descended from Aaron will put a fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.	7 (Ensuite) Ils mettront le feu sous l'autel, après avoir auparavant préparé le bois.
8 The priests descended from Aaron will then arrange the quarters, the head and the fat on the wood onthe fire on the altar.	8 (Et) Ils arrangeront dessus les membres qui auront été coupés, savoir : la tête et tout ce qui tient au foie,
9 He wil wash the entrails and shins in water, and the priest wil burn it all on the altar as a burnt offering,food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.	9 les intestins et les pieds, lavés auparavant dans l'eau ; et le prêtre les brûlera sur l'autel pour être au Seigneur un holocauste d'agréable odeur.
10 "If his offering is to be of an animal from the flock, of a lamb or a goat to be offered as a burnt offering,he must offer an unblemished male.	10 Que si l'offrande est de petit bétail, c'est-à-dire si c'est un holocauste de brebis ou de chèvres, celui qui l'offre choisira un mâle sans tache,
11 He will slaughter it on the north side of the altar, before Yahweh, and the priests descended fromAaron will pour the blood al around the altar.	11 et il l'immolera devant le Seigneur, au côté de l'autel qui regarde l'aquilon ; et les enfants (fils) d'Aaron en répandront le sang sur l'autel, tout autour.
12 He will then quarter it, and the priest wil arrange the quarters, the head and the fat on the wood on thefire on the altar.	12 (Et) Ils en couperont les membres, la tête et tout ce qui tient au foie, qu'ils arrangeront sur le bois au-dessous duquel ils doivent mettre le feu.
13 He will wash the entrails and shins in water, and the priest wil burn it al on the altar as a burnt offering, food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.	13 (Mais) Ils laveront dans l'eau les intestins et les pieds, et le prêtre brûlera le tout sur l'autel après l'avoir offert, pour être au Seigneur un holocauste de très agréable odeur.
14 "If his offering to Yahweh is to be a burnt offering of a bird, he must offer a turtledove or a youngpigeon.	14 Si l'on offre en holocauste au Seigneur des oiseaux, savoir : des tourterelles ou des petits de colombe,
15 The priest wil offer it at the altar and wring off its head, which he wil burn on the altar; its blood mustthen be squeezed out on the side of the altar.	15 le prêtre offrira la victime à l'autel ; et lui tournant (avec violence) la tête en arrière sur le cou, il lui fera une plaie, par laquelle il fera couler le sang sur le bord de l'autel.
16 He will then remove the crop and the feathers and throw them on the eastern side of the altar, wherethe fatty ashes are put.	16 Il jettera la petite vessie (vésicule) du gosier et les plumes auprès de l'autel, du côté de l'orient, au lieu où l'on a coutume de jeter les cendres.
17 He will then split it in half with a wing on each side, but without separating the two parts. The priest wilthen burn it on the altar, on the wood which is on the fire, as a burnt offering, food burnt as a smel pleasing toYahweh." '	17 Il lui rompra les ailes sans les couper, et sans diviser la victime avec le fer, et il la brûlera sur l'autel après avoir mis le feu sous le bois. C'est un holocauste offert au Seigneur, et une oblation d'une très agréable odeur.
