Leviticus 1

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Yahweh summoned Moses and, speaking to him from the Tent of Meeting, said,	1 Vocavit autem Moysen et locu tus est ei Dominus de tabernacu lo conventus dicens:
2 'Speak to the Israelites; say to them, "When any of you brings an offering to Yahweh, he can offer ananimal either from the herd or from the flock.	2 “ Loquere filiis Israel et dices ad eos: Homo, qui obtulerit ex vobis hostiam Domino de animalibus domesticis, de bobus et pecoribus offerens victimas,
3 "If his offering is to be a burnt offering from the herd, he must offer an unblemished male; he wil offer itat the entrance to the Tent of Meeting, to make it acceptable to Yahweh.	3 si holocaustum fuerit eius oblatio de armento, masculum immaculatum offeret ad ostium tabernaculi conventus ad placandum sibi Dominum;
4 He must lay his hand on the victim's head, and it will be accepted as effectual for his expiation.	4 ponetque manum super caput hostiae, et acceptabilis erit atque in expiationem eius proficiens.
5 He wil then slaughter the bul before Yahweh, and the priests descended from Aaron wil offer theblood. They wil pour it all around the altar which stands at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.	5 Immolabitque vitulum coram Domino, et offerent filii Aaron sacerdotes sanguinem eius aspergentes per altaris circuitum, quod est ante ostium tabernaculi conventus.
6 He wil then skin the victim and quarter it.	6 Detracta pelle, hostiam offerens in frusta concidet;
7 The priests descended from Aaron will put a fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.	7 et filii Aaron sacerdotis ponent in altari ignem, strueque lignorum super ignem composita,
8 The priests descended from Aaron will then arrange the quarters, the head and the fat on the wood onthe fire on the altar.	8 membra, quae caesa sunt, desuper ordinabunt, caput videlicet et adipem.
9 He wil wash the entrails and shins in water, and the priest wil burn it all on the altar as a burnt offering,food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.	9 Intestina autem et crura offerens lavabit aqua adolebitque ea sacerdos super altare in holocaustum, incensum suavissimi odoris Domino.
10 "If his offering is to be of an animal from the flock, of a lamb or a goat to be offered as a burnt offering,he must offer an unblemished male.	10 Quod si de pecoribus eius oblatio est, de ovibus sive de capris holocaustum, masculum absque macula offeret;
11 He will slaughter it on the north side of the altar, before Yahweh, and the priests descended fromAaron will pour the blood al around the altar.	11 immolabitque ad latus altaris, quod respicit ad aquilonem, coram Domino. Sanguinem vero illius aspergent contra altare filii Aaron sacerdotes per circuitum;
12 He will then quarter it, and the priest wil arrange the quarters, the head and the fat on the wood on thefire on the altar.	12 dividetque offerens membra, caput et adipem, et sacerdos imponet ea super ligna, quibus subest ignis in altari.
13 He will wash the entrails and shins in water, and the priest wil burn it al on the altar as a burnt offering, food burnt as a smel pleasing to Yahweh.	13 Intestina vero et crura lavabit offerens aqua, et oblata omnia adolebit sacerdos super altare: holocaustum est et incensum odoris suavissimi Domino.
14 "If his offering to Yahweh is to be a burnt offering of a bird, he must offer a turtledove or a youngpigeon.	14 Sin autem de avibus holocausti oblatio fuerit Domino, offeret de turturibus aut pullis columbae oblationem suam.
15 The priest wil offer it at the altar and wring off its head, which he wil burn on the altar; its blood mustthen be squeezed out on the side of the altar.	15 Et sacerdos afferet eam ad altare; retortum ad collum caput adolebit in altari, sanguisque eius exprimetur contra parietem altaris.
16 He will then remove the crop and the feathers and throw them on the eastern side of the altar, wherethe fatty ashes are put.	16 Vesiculam vero gutturis et plumas proiciet offerens prope altare ad orientalem plagam in loco, in quo cineres effundi solent;
17 He will then split it in half with a wing on each side, but without separating the two parts. The priest wilthen burn it on the altar, on the wood which is on the fire, as a burnt offering, food burnt as a smel pleasing toYahweh." '	17 confringetque eam inter alas, quas non secabit, et adolebit eam sacerdos super altare, lignis super ignem positis: holocaustum est et incensum suavissimi odoris Domino.
