Isaiah 27

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 That day Yahweh wil punish, with his unyielding sword, massive and strong, Leviathan the fleeingserpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he wil kil that dragon that lives in the sea.	1 In quel giorno il Signore punirà con la sua spada dura, grande e potente il Leviatàn, serpente fuggente, il Leviatàn, serpente tortuoso, e ucciderà il dragone del mare.
2 That day, sing of the splendid vineyard!	2 In quel giorno si dirà: "La vigna deliziosa, cantatela!
3 I, Yahweh, am its guardian, from time to time I water it; so that no harm befal it, I guard it night andday.	3 Io, il Signore, la custodisco, ad ogni momento la irrigo, perché non la si danneggi, notte e giorno io la guardo.
4 -I do not have a wall. Who can reduce me to brambles and thorn-bushes? -I shal make war andtrample on it and at the same time burn it.	4 Non sono in collera. Se ci fossero rovi e pruni, muoverei loro la guerra, li incendierei tutti insieme!
5 Or should they beg for my protection, let them make their peace with me, peace let them make withme.	5 O piuttosto si cerchi rifugio in me, si faccia pace con me, la pace sia fatta con me".
6 In days to come, Jacob will take root, Israel wil bud and blossom and the surface of the world be onevast harvest.	6 Nei giorni futuri Giacobbe metterà radici, Israele fiorirà e germoglierà e l'universo si riempirà dei suoi frutti.
7 Has he struck him as he was struck by those who struck him? Has he murdered him as he wasmurdered by those who murdered him?	7 Lo ha forse percosso il Signore come percosse i suoi percussori, l'ha forse ucciso, come uccise i suoi uccisori?
8 By expel ing, by excluding him, you have executed a sentence, he has blown him away with a breathas rough as the east wind.	8 Tu l'hai castigato cacciandolo, espellendolo, l'hai sospinto con un soffio violento in un giorno di vento d'Oriente.
9 For that is how Jacob's guilt wil be forgiven, such wil be the result of renouncing his sin, when al thealtar-stones have been smashed to pieces like lumps of chalk, when the sacred poles and incense-altars standno longer.	9 Pertanto così sarà espiata l'iniquità di Giacobbe e ciò rimuoverà tutti i frutti del suo peccato, quando avrà ridotto tutte le pietre dell'altare, come pietre che si stritolano per la calce, non vi erigeranno più stele sacre e altari.
10 For the fortified city is abandoned now, deserted, forsaken as a desert where calves browse, wherethey lie down, destroying its branches.	10 La città fortificata è diventata solitaria, un sito spopolato e abbandonato come un deserto; là viene a pascolare il vitello, vi si corica e ne distrugge i rami.
11 When boughs go dry, they get burnt, women come and use them for firewood. Now, this is a peoplethat does not understand, and so its Maker wil not take pity on it, he who formed it wil not show it any mercy.	11 Quando si seccano i rami, si spezzano, le donne vengono e li fanno bruciare; sono infatti un popolo senza intelligenza, perciò il suo creatore non avrà misericordia e il suo Signore non farà grazia.
12 When that day comes, Yahweh wil start his threshing from the course of the River to the Torrent ofEgypt, and you will be gathered one by one, Israelites!	12 In quel giorno il Signore batterà le spighe dal Fiume fino al torrente d'Egitto e voi sarete raccolti a uno a uno, voi, figli d'Israele.
13 When that day comes, the great ram's-horn will be sounded, and those lost in Assyria will come, andthose banished to Egypt, and they wil worship Yahweh on the holy mountain, in Jerusalem.	13 In quel giorno suonerà la grande tromba e verranno gli sperduti nella terra d'Assiria e i dispersi nella terra d'Egitto: adoreranno il Signore sul monte santo, in Gerusalemme.
