Isaiah 27

¹ That day Yahweh wil punish, with his unyielding sword, massive and strong, Leviathan the fleeingserpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he wil kil that dragon that lives in the sea.	¹ In quel giorno il Signore punirà con la spada dura, grande e forte, il Leviatàn, serpente guizzante, il Leviatàn, serpente tortuoso, e ucciderà il drago che sta nel mare.
² That day, sing of the splendid vineyard!	² In quel giorno la vigna sarà deliziosa: cantàtela!
³ I, Yahweh, am its guardian, from time to time I water it; so that no harm befal it, I guard it night andday.	³ Io, il Signore, ne sono il guardiano, a ogni istante la irrigo; per timore che la si danneggi, ne ho cura notte e giorno.
⁴ -I do not have a wall. Who can reduce me to brambles and thorn-bushes? -I shal make war andtrample on it and at the same time burn it.	⁴ Io non sono in collera. Vi fossero rovi e pruni, muoverei loro guerra, li brucerei tutti insieme.
⁵ Or should they beg for my protection, let them make their peace with me, peace let them make withme.	⁵ Oppure si afferri alla mia protezione, faccia la pace con me, con me faccia la pace!
⁶ In days to come, Jacob will take root, Israel wil bud and blossom and the surface of the world be onevast harvest.	⁶ Nei giorni che verranno Giacobbe metterà radici, Israele fiorirà e germoglierà, riempirà il mondo di frutti.
⁷ Has he struck him as he was struck by those who struck him? Has he murdered him as he wasmurdered by those who murdered him?	⁷ Lo ha percosso quanto lo percosse il suo percussore? Oppure fu da lui ucciso come lo furono i suoi uccisori?
⁸ By expel ing, by excluding him, you have executed a sentence, he has blown him away with a breathas rough as the east wind.	⁸ Egli è entrato in contesa con lui, cacciandolo via, respingendolo, lo ha rimosso con il suo soffio impetuoso, come quando tira il vento d’oriente!
⁹ For that is how Jacob's guilt wil be forgiven, such wil be the result of renouncing his sin, when al thealtar-stones have been smashed to pieces like lumps of chalk, when the sacred poles and incense-altars standno longer.	⁹ Proprio così sarà espiata l’iniquità di Giacobbe e questo sarà tutto il frutto per la rimozione del suo peccato: mentre egli ridurrà tutte le pietre dell’altare come si fa delle pietre che si polverizzano per la calce, non erigeranno più pali sacri né altari per l’incenso.
¹⁰ For the fortified city is abandoned now, deserted, forsaken as a desert where calves browse, wherethey lie down, destroying its branches.	¹⁰ La fortezza è divenuta desolata, un luogo spopolato e abbandonato come un deserto; vi pascola il vitello, vi si sdraia e ne bruca gli arbusti.
¹¹ When boughs go dry, they get burnt, women come and use them for firewood. Now, this is a peoplethat does not understand, and so its Maker wil not take pity on it, he who formed it wil not show it any mercy.	¹¹ I suoi rami seccandosi si spezzeranno; le donne verranno ad accendervi il fuoco. Certo, si tratta di un popolo privo d’intelligenza; per questo non ne avrà pietà chi lo ha creato né chi lo ha formato ne avrà compassione.
¹² When that day comes, Yahweh wil start his threshing from the course of the River to the Torrent ofEgypt, and you will be gathered one by one, Israelites!	¹² Avverrà che, in quel giorno, il Signore batterà le spighe, dal Fiume al torrente d’Egitto, e voi sarete raccolti uno a uno, Israeliti.
¹³ When that day comes, the great ram's-horn will be sounded, and those lost in Assyria will come, andthose banished to Egypt, and they wil worship Yahweh on the holy mountain, in Jerusalem.	¹³ Avverrà che in quel giorno suonerà il grande corno, verranno gli sperduti nella terra d’Assiria e i dispersi nella terra d’Egitto. Essi si prostreranno al Signore sul monte santo, a Gerusalemme.
