Isaiah 2

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 The vision of Isaiah son of Amoz, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.	1 Lo que vio Isaías, hijo de Amós, tocante a Judá y Jerusalén.
2 It wil happen in the final days that the mountain of Yahweh's house wil rise higher than the mountainsand tower above the heights. Then al the nations will stream to it,	2 Sucederá en días futuros que el monte de la Casa de Yahveh será asentado en la cima de los montes y se alzará por encima de las colinas. Confluirán a él todas las naciones,
3 many peoples will come to it and say, 'Come, let us go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house ofthe God of Jacob that he may teach us his ways so that we may walk in his paths.' For the Law wil issue fromZion and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.	3 y acudirán pueblos numerosos. Dirán: «Venid, subamos al monte de Yahveh, a la Casa del Dios de Jacob, para que él nos enseñe sus caminos y nosotros sigamos sus senderos». Pues de Sión saldrá la Ley, y de Jerusalén la palabra de Yahveh.
4 Then he wil judge between the nations and arbitrate between many peoples. They wil hammer theirswords into ploughshares and their spears into sickles. Nation wil not lift sword against nation, no longer wilthey learn how to make war.	4 Juzgará entre las gentes, será árbitro de pueblos numerosos. Forjarán de sus espadas azadones, y de sus lanzas podaderas. No levantará espada nación contra nación, ni se ejercitarán más en la guerra.
5 House of Jacob, come, let us walk in Yahweh's light.	5 Casa de Jacob, andando, y vayamos, caminemos a la luz de Yahveh.
6 You have rejected your people, the House of Jacob, for it has long been ful of sorcerers like thePhilistines, and is overrun with foreigners.	6 Has desechado a tu pueblo, la Casa de Jacob, porque estaban llenos de adivinos y evocadores, como los filisteos, y con extraños chocan la mano;
7 The country is ful of silver and gold and treasures unlimited, the country is ful of horses, its chariots areunlimited;	7 se llenó su tierra de plata y oro, y no tienen límite sus tesoros; se llenó su tierra de caballos, y no tienen límite sus carros;
8 the country is full of idols. They bow down before the work of their hands, before what their own fingershave made.	8 se llenó su tierra de ídolos, ante la obra de sus manos se inclinan, ante lo que hicieron sus dedos.
9 Human nature has been humbled, humankind brought low: do not raise them again!	9 Se humilla el hombre, y se abaja el varón: pero no les perdones.
10 Go into the rock, hide in the dust, in terror of Yahweh, at the bril iance of his majesty, when he arises tomake the earth quake.	10 Entra en la peña, húndete en el polvo, lejos de la presencia pavorosa de Yahveh y del esplendor de su majestad, cuando él se alce para hacer temblar la tierra.
11 Human pride wil lower its eyes, human arrogance will be humbled, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted,on that day.	11 Los ojos altivos del hombre serán abajados, se humillará la altanería humana, y será exaltado Yahveh solo en aquel día.
12 That wil be a day for Yahweh Sabaoth, for all who are majestic and haughty, for al who are proud, tobe brought low,	12 Pues será aquel día de Yahveh Sebaot para toda depresión, que sea enaltecida, y para todo lo levantado, que será rebajado:
13 for all the cedars of Lebanon, high and proud, and for al the oaks of Bashan;	13 contra todos los cedros del Líbano altos y elevados, contra todas las encinas del Basán,
14 for all the high mountains and for al the proud hil s;	14 contra todos los montes altos, contra todos los cerros elevados,
15 for every lofty tower and for every towering wal ;	15 contra toda torre prominente, contra todo muro inaccesible,
16 for all the ships of Tarshish and for everything held precious.	16 contra todas las naves de Tarsis, contra todos los barcos cargados de tesoros.
17 Human pride wil be humbled, human arrogance brought low, and Yahweh alone wil be exalted, on thatday.	17 Se humillará la altivez del hombre, y se abajará la altanería humana; será exaltado Yahveh solo, en aquel día,
18 When the idols al disappear,	18 y los ídolos completamente abatidos.
19 they wil go into the caverns of the rocks and into the fissures of the earth in terror of Yahweh, at thebrilliance of his majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	19 Entrarán en las grietas de las peñas y en las hendiduras de la tierra, lejos de la presencia pavorosa de Yahveh y del esplendor de su majestad, cuando él se alce para hacer temblar la tierra.
20 That day, people wil fling to moles and bats the silver idols and golden idols which have been made forthem to worship,	20 Aquel día arrojará el hombre a los musgaños y a los topos los ídolos de plata y los ídolos de oro que él se hizo para postrarse ante ellos,
21 and go into the crevices of the rocks and the clefts in the cliffs, in terror of Yahweh, at the brilliance ofhis majesty, when he arises to make the earth quake.	21 y se meterá en los agujeros de las peñas y en las hendiduras de las piedras, lejos de la presencia pavorosa de Yahveh y del esplendor de su majestad, cuando él se alce para hacer temblar la tierra.
22 Have no more to do with humankind, which has only the breath in its nostrils. How much is this worth?	22 Desentendeos del hombre, en cuya nariz sólo hay aliento, porque ¿qué vale él?
