1 A human heart makes the plans, Yahweh gives the answer.	1 - All'uomo, preparare l'animo, al Signore, governare la lingua.
2 A person's own acts seem right to the doer, but Yahweh is the weigher of souls.	2 Tutti gli andamenti dell'uomo sono palesi agli occhi suoi, ma ponderatore degli spiriti è Dio.
3 Commend what you do to Yahweh, and what you plan wil be achieved.	3 Confida al Signore le opere tue, e i tuoi disegni riusciranno.
4 Yahweh made everything for its own purpose, yes, even the wicked for the day of disaster.	4 Tutte le cose il Signore ha operato per se stesso, ed anche l'empio pel cattivo giorno.
5 Every arrogant heart is abhorrent to Yahweh: be sure this wil not go unpunished.	5 Abominio del Signore ogni arrogante, e, oggi o domani, non andrà impunito. Inizio della buona strada è praticare la giustizia e presso Dio è più accetto che immolar vittime.
6 By faithful love and constancy sin is expiated; by fear of Yahweh evil is avoided.	6 Con la misericordia e la verità s'espia la colpa, e nel timore del Signore si schiva il male.
7 Let Yahweh be pleased with someone's way of life and he makes that person's very enemies intofriends.	7 Quando gradiranno al Signore le vie dell'uomo, riconcilierà a lui anche i nemici.
8 Better have little and with it uprightness than great revenues with injustice.	8 Meglio poco con giustiziache entrate assai senza equità.
9 The human heart may plan a course, but it is Yahweh who makes the steps secure.	9 L'uomo propone in cuore il suo camminoma sta al Signore reggere i suoi passi.
10 The lips of the king utter prophecies, he keeps faith when he speaks in judgement.	10 Un oracolo sta sulle labbra del re, in giudizio la sua bocca non fallirà.
11 The balances and scales belong to Yahweh, al the weights in the bag are of his making.	11 La stadera e la bilancia sono stabilite da Dio, e opera sua sono tutte le pietre del sacchetto.
12 Evil-doing is abhorrent to kings, since uprightness is a throne's foundation.	12 Sono abominabili al re i malfattori, giacchè per la giustizia si regge il trono.
13 Upright lips are welcome to a king, he loves someone of honest words.	13 Labbra veritiere è ciò che vogliono i re; chi parla rettamente è amato.
14 The king's wrath is the herald of death, but the wise will appease it.	14 Ira di re, messi di morte, ma l'uomo saggio la placherà.
15 When the king's face brightens it spel s life, his favour is like the rain in spring.	15 Nel sorriso del re c'è la vita e il suo favore è come la pioggia serotina.
16 Better gain wisdom than gold, choose understanding in preference to silver.	16 Acquista sapienza, perchè migliore dell'oro, e acquista prudenza, perchè è più preziosa dell'argento.
17 To turn from evil is the way of the honest; whoever watches the path keeps life safe.	17 Il sentiero dei giusti schiva il male e chi vuol custodire l'anima sua bada al suo cammino.
18 Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fal .	18 La superbia precede alla caduta e prima della rovina s'inorgoglisce lo spirito.
19 Better be humble with the poor than share the booty with the proud.	19 È meglio abbassarsi coi mansueti, che spartire la preda coi superbi.
20 Whoever listens closely to the word finds happiness; whoever trusts Yahweh is blessed.	20 Chi è docile alla parola troverà bene, e chi spera nel Signore è beato.
21 The wise of heart is acclaimed as intel igent, sweetness of speech increases knowledge.	21 Uomo saggio di cuore vuol dire uomo prudente, e chi è cortese nel parlare, ritrarrà maggiori vantaggi.
22 Shrewdness is a fountain of life for its possessor, the fol y of fools is their own punishment.	22 Fonte di vita è il buon senso per chi lo possiede; la dottrina degli stolti è fatuità.
23 The heart of the wise lends shrewdness to speech and makes words more persuasive.	23 Il cuore del saggio istruirà la sua bocca, e alle sue labbra aggiungerà grazia.
24 Kindly words are a honeycomb, sweet to the taste, wholesome to the body.	24 Un favo di miele sono i detti soavi, delizia dell'anima, farmaco dell'ossa.
25 There is a way that some think straight, but it leads in the end to death.	25 V'è una strada che sembra all'uomo dritta, ma i suoi estremi conducono alla morte.
26 A worker's appetite works on his behalf, for his hunger urges him on.	26 L'uomo che s'affatica, si affatica per sè, perchè la sua bocca lo costringe.
27 A worthless person concocts evil, such a one's talk is like a scorching fire.	27 L'empio scava il male e ha sulle labbra fuoco ardente.
28 A troublemaker sows strife, a slanderer divides friend from friend.	28 L'uomo perverso suscita liti, e lo sparlatore mette la divisione tra i principi.
29 The violent lures his neighbour astray and leads him by a way that is not good.	29 L'uomo iniquo adesca il suo amico, e lo mena per via non buona.
30 Whoever narrows the eyes to think up tricks and purses the lips has already done wrong.	30 Chi di sottecchi macchina intrighi, sogghignando colle labbra compie il male.
31 White hairs are a crown of honour, they are found in the ways of uprightness.	31 Onorifica corona è la canizie, la si troverà sulle vie della giustizia.
32 Better an equable person than a hero, someone with self-mastery than one who takes a city.	32 Meglio l'uomo paziente che l'uomo forte; e chi domina l'animo suo è da più che un espugnatore di città.
33 In the fold of the garment the lot is thrown, but from Yahweh comes the decision.	33 Nel grembo si gettano le sorti, ma dal Signore sono regolate.
