Proverbs 15

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 A mild answer turns away wrath, sharp words stir up anger.	1 Una risposta gentile allontana la collera, una parola pungente fa crescere l'ira.
2 The tongue of the wise makes knowledge welcome, the mouth of a fool spews fol y.	2 La lingua dei saggi produce la scienza, la bocca degli stolti produce stoltezza.
3 The eyes of Yahweh are everywhere: observing the wicked and the good.	3 Gli occhi del Signore sono in ogni luogo per osservare buoni e cattivi.
4 The tongue that soothes is a tree of life; the perverse tongue, a breaker of hearts.	4 Una lingua benevola è un albero di vita, una lingua perversa distrugge lo spirito.
5 Only a fool spurns a father's discipline, whoever accepts correction is discreet.	5 Lo stolto disprezza la correzione di suo padre, chi apprezza il rimprovero è saggio.
6 In the house of the upright there is no lack of treasure, the earnings of the wicked are fraught withanxiety.	6 Nella casa del giusto c'è molta ricchezza, nei proventi dell'empio c'è insicurezza.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge, not so the hearts of fools.	7 Le labbra del giusto diffondono la scienza, ma non così il cuore degli stolti.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is abhorrent to Yahweh, dear to him is the prayer of the honest.	8 Il sacrificio degli empi è abominio al Signore, della preghiera dei retti egli si compiace.
9 The conduct of the wicked is abhorrent to Yahweh, but he loves the person whose goal is uprightness.	9 Obbrobrio per il Signore è la via del peccatore, egli ama chi cerca la giustizia.
10 Correction is severe for one who leaves the way; whoever hates being reprimanded wil die.	10 Correzione severa a chi abbandona il sentiero, chi odia il rimprovero, muore.
11 Sheol and Perdition lie open to Yahweh; how much more the human heart!	11 Inferi e abisso sono davanti al Signore, quanto più i cuori degli uomini!
12 The mocker does not care to be reprimanded, and wil not choose the wise as companions.	12 L'insolente non ama chi lo ammonisce, egli non vuol frequentare i sapienti.
13 Glad heart means happy face, where the heart is sad the spirit is broken.	13 Un cuore gioioso distende la faccia, nella tristezza del cuore si deprime lo spirito.
14 The heart of the wise seeks knowledge, a fool's mouth feeds on fol y.	14 Un cuore intelligente cerca la scienza, la bocca degli stolti si pasce di stoltezza.
15 For the poor every day is evil, for the joyous heart it is always festival time.	15 Tutti i giorni del misero sono cattivi, per un cuore contento è sempre una festa.
16 Better to have little and with it fear of Yahweh than immense wealth and with it anxiety.	16 Un po' di felicità nel timore del Signore val più di un grande tesoro con l'inquietudine.
17 Better a dish of herbs when love is there than a fattened ox and hatred to go with it.	17 Val più una porzione di legumi dove c'è amore che un bue grasso dove c'è l'odio.
18 The hot-headed provokes disputes, the equable al ays dissension.	18 Un uomo irascibile suscita contese, l'uomo paziente smorza le liti.
19 The way of the lazy is like a thorny hedge, the path of the honest is a broad highway.	19 La strada del pigro è come una siepe spinosa, il sentiero dei retti invece è scorrevole.
20 A wise child is a father's joy; only a brute despises his mother.	20 Un figlio sapiente allieta il padre, l'uomo stolto disprezza sua madre.
21 Fol y appeals to someone without sense, a person of understanding goes straight forward.	21 La stoltezza allieta chi è privo di senno, chi è intelligente va dritto per la sua strada.
22 Without deliberation plans come to nothing. Plans succeed where counsellors are many.	22 I progetti vanno all'aria per mancanza di discussione, si realizzano quando molti discutono.
23 Anyone who has a ready answer has joy too: how satisfying is the apt reply!	23 E' una gioia per l'uomo una risposta della sua bocca; una parola a suo tempo com'è deliziosa!
24 For the prudent, the path of life leads upwards thus avoiding Sheol below.	24 C'è un sentiero di vita, in alto, per il saggio, perché si allontani dagli inferi in basso.
25 Yahweh pulls down the house of the proud, but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact.	25 Il Signore abbatte la casa dei superbi, consolida invece il confine della vedova.
26 Wicked scheming is abhorrent to Yahweh, but words that are kind are pure.	26 Il Signore detesta i disegni malvagi, invece sono pure le parole benevole.
27 Craving for dishonest gain brings trouble on a house, hatred of bribery earns life.	27 Sconvolge la sua casa chi ammassa rapine, chi disprezza i regali avrà la vita.
28 The heart of the upright reflects before answering, the mouth of the wicked spews out wickedness.	28 Il cuore del giusto riflette alle sue risposte, la bocca degli empi vomita malvagità.
29 Yahweh keeps his distance from the wicked, but he listens to the prayers of the upright.	29 Il Signore sta lontano dagli empi, ascolta invece la preghiera dei giusti.
30 A kindly glance gives joy to the heart, good news lends strength to the bones.	30 Uno sguardo lucente dà gioia al cuore, una buona notizia ingrassa le ossa.
31 The ear attentive to wholesome correction finds itself at home in the company of the wise.	31 L'orecchio che ascolta l'ammonizione di vita avrà dimora in mezzo ai sapienti.
32 Whoever rejects correction lacks self-respect, whoever accepts reproof grows in understanding.	32 Chi rigetta la correzione disprezza se stesso, ma chi ascolta il rimprovero acquista senno.
33 The fear of Yahweh is a school of wisdom, before there can be glory, there must be humility.	33 Il timore del Signore è saggia disciplina e prima della gloria c'è l'umiltà.
