Proverbs 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 A mild answer turns away wrath, sharp words stir up anger.	1 Una respuesta suave calma el furor, una palabra hiriente aumenta la ira.
2 The tongue of the wise makes knowledge welcome, the mouth of a fool spews fol y.	2 La lengua de los sabios hace agradable la ciencia, la boca de los insensatos esparce necedad.
3 The eyes of Yahweh are everywhere: observing the wicked and the good.	3 En todo lugar, los ojos de Yahveh, observando a los malos y a los buenos.
4 The tongue that soothes is a tree of life; the perverse tongue, a breaker of hearts.	4 Lengua mansa, árbol de vida, lengua perversa rompe el alma.
5 Only a fool spurns a father's discipline, whoever accepts correction is discreet.	5 El tonto desprecia la corrección de su padre; quien sigue la reprensión es cauto.
6 In the house of the upright there is no lack of treasure, the earnings of the wicked are fraught withanxiety.	6 La casa del justo abunda en riquezas, en las rentas del malo no falta inquietud.
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge, not so the hearts of fools.	7 Los labios de los sabios siembran ciencia, pero no así el corazón de los necios.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is abhorrent to Yahweh, dear to him is the prayer of the honest.	8 Yahveh abomina el sacrificio de los malos; la oración de los rectos alcanza su favor.
9 The conduct of the wicked is abhorrent to Yahweh, but he loves the person whose goal is uprightness.	9 Yahveh abomina el camino malo; y ama al que va tras la justicia.
10 Correction is severe for one who leaves the way; whoever hates being reprimanded wil die.	10 Corrección severa a quien deja el camino; el que odia la reprensión perecerá.
11 Sheol and Perdition lie open to Yahweh; how much more the human heart!	11 Seol y Perdición están ante Yahveh: ¡cuánto más los corazones de los hombres!
12 The mocker does not care to be reprimanded, and wil not choose the wise as companions.	12 El arrogante no quiere ser reprendido, no va junto a los sabios.
13 Glad heart means happy face, where the heart is sad the spirit is broken.	13 Corazón alegre hace buena cara, corazón en pena deprime el espíritu.
14 The heart of the wise seeks knowledge, a fool's mouth feeds on fol y.	14 Corazón inteligente busca la ciencia, los labios de los necios se alimentan de necedad.
15 For the poor every day is evil, for the joyous heart it is always festival time.	15 Todos los días del pobre son malos, para el corazón dichoso, banquetes sin fin.
16 Better to have little and with it fear of Yahweh than immense wealth and with it anxiety.	16 Mejor es poco con temor de Yahveh, que gran tesoro con inquietud.
17 Better a dish of herbs when love is there than a fattened ox and hatred to go with it.	17 Más vale un plato de legumbres, con cariño, que un buey cebado, con odio.
18 The hot-headed provokes disputes, the equable al ays dissension.	18 El hombre violento provoca disputas, el tardo a la ira aplaca las querellas.
19 The way of the lazy is like a thorny hedge, the path of the honest is a broad highway.	19 El camino del perezoso es como un seto de espinos. la senda de los rectos es llana.
20 A wise child is a father's joy; only a brute despises his mother.	20 El hijo sabio es la alegría de su padre, el hombre necio desprecia a su madre.
21 Fol y appeals to someone without sense, a person of understanding goes straight forward.	21 La necedad alegra al insensato, el hombre inteligente camina en derechura.
22 Without deliberation plans come to nothing. Plans succeed where counsellors are many.	22 Donde no hay consultas, los planes fracasan; con muchos consejeros, se llevan a cabo.
23 Anyone who has a ready answer has joy too: how satisfying is the apt reply!	23 El hombre halla alegría en la respuesta de su boca; una palabra a tiempo, ¡qué cosa más buena!
24 For the prudent, the path of life leads upwards thus avoiding Sheol below.	24 Camino de la vida, hacia arriba, para el sabio, para que se aparte del seol, que está abajo.
25 Yahweh pulls down the house of the proud, but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact.	25 La casa de los soberbios la destruye Yahveh, y mantiene en pie los linderos de la viuda.
26 Wicked scheming is abhorrent to Yahweh, but words that are kind are pure.	26 Yahveh abomina los proyectos perversos; pero son puras las palabras agradables.
27 Craving for dishonest gain brings trouble on a house, hatred of bribery earns life.	27 Quien se da al robo, perturba su casa, quien odia los regalos, vivirá.
28 The heart of the upright reflects before answering, the mouth of the wicked spews out wickedness.	28 El corazón del justo recapacita para responder, la boca de los malos esparce maldades.
29 Yahweh keeps his distance from the wicked, but he listens to the prayers of the upright.	29 Yahveh se aleja de los malos, y escucha la plegaria de los justos.
30 A kindly glance gives joy to the heart, good news lends strength to the bones.	30 Una mirada luminosa alegra el corazón, una buena noticia reanima el vigor.
31 The ear attentive to wholesome correction finds itself at home in the company of the wise.	31 Oído que escucha reprensión saludable, tiene su morada entre los sabios.
32 Whoever rejects correction lacks self-respect, whoever accepts reproof grows in understanding.	32 Quien desatiende la corrección se desprecia a sí mismo, quien escucha la reprensión adquiere sensatez.
33 The fear of Yahweh is a school of wisdom, before there can be glory, there must be humility.	33 El temor de Yahveh instruye en sabiduría: y delante de la gloria va la humildad.
