1 A mild answer turns away wrath, sharp words stir up anger.	1 La risposta dolce acqueta il cruccio; Ma la parola molesta fa montar l’ira
2 The tongue of the wise makes knowledge welcome, the mouth of a fool spews fol y.	2 La scienza adorna la lingua de’ savi; Ma la bocca degli stolti sgorga follia
3 The eyes of Yahweh are everywhere: observing the wicked and the good.	3 Gli occhi del Signore sono in ogni luogo; Riguardando i malvagi ed i buoni
4 The tongue that soothes is a tree of life; the perverse tongue, a breaker of hearts.	4 La medicina della lingua è un albero di vita; Ma la sovversione che avviene per essa è simile ad un fracasso fatto dal vento
5 Only a fool spurns a father's discipline, whoever accepts correction is discreet.	5 Lo stolto disdegna la correzion di suo padre; Ma chi osserva la riprensione diventerà avveduto
6 In the house of the upright there is no lack of treasure, the earnings of the wicked are fraught withanxiety.	6 Nella casa del giusto vi sono di gran facoltà; Ma vi è dissipazione nell’entrate dell’empio
7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge, not so the hearts of fools.	7 Le labbra de’ savi spandono scienza; Ma non fa già così il cuor degli stolti
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is abhorrent to Yahweh, dear to him is the prayer of the honest.	8 Il sacrificio degli empi è cosa abbominevole al Signore; Ma l’orazione degli uomini diritti gli è cosa grata
9 The conduct of the wicked is abhorrent to Yahweh, but he loves the person whose goal is uprightness.	9 La via dell’empio è cosa abbominevole al Signore; Ma egli ama chi procaccia giustizia
10 Correction is severe for one who leaves the way; whoever hates being reprimanded wil die.	10 La correzione è spiacevole a chi lascia la diritta via; Chi odia la riprensione morrà
11 Sheol and Perdition lie open to Yahweh; how much more the human heart!	11 L’inferno e il luogo della perdizione son davanti al Signore; Quanto più i cuori de’ figliuoli degli uomini!
12 The mocker does not care to be reprimanded, and wil not choose the wise as companions.	12 Lo schernitore non ama che altri lo riprenda, E non va a’ savi
13 Glad heart means happy face, where the heart is sad the spirit is broken.	13 Il cuore allegro abbellisce la faccia; Ma per lo cordoglio lo spirito è abbattuto
14 The heart of the wise seeks knowledge, a fool's mouth feeds on fol y.	14 Il cuor dell’uomo intendente cerca la scienza; Ma la bocca degli stolti si pasce di follia
15 For the poor every day is evil, for the joyous heart it is always festival time.	15 Tutti i giorni dell’afflitto son cattivi; Ma chi è allegro di cuore è come in un convito perpetuo
16 Better to have little and with it fear of Yahweh than immense wealth and with it anxiety.	16 Meglio vale poco col timor del Signore, Che gran tesoro con turbamento.
17 Better a dish of herbs when love is there than a fattened ox and hatred to go with it.	17 Meglio vale un pasto d’erbe, ove sia amore, Che di bue ingrassato, ove sia odio
18 The hot-headed provokes disputes, the equable al ays dissension.	18 L’uomo iracondo muove contese; Ma chi è lento all’ira acqueta le risse
19 The way of the lazy is like a thorny hedge, the path of the honest is a broad highway.	19 La via del pigro è come una siepe di spine; Ma la via degli uomini diritti è elevata
20 A wise child is a father's joy; only a brute despises his mother.	20 Il figliuol savio rallegra il padre; Ma l’uomo stolto sprezza sua madre
21 Fol y appeals to someone without sense, a person of understanding goes straight forward.	21 La follia è allegrezza all’uomo scemo di senno; Ma l’uomo intendente cammina dirittamente
22 Without deliberation plans come to nothing. Plans succeed where counsellors are many.	22 I disegni son renduti vani dove non è consiglio; Ma sono stabili dove è moltitudine di consiglieri
23 Anyone who has a ready answer has joy too: how satisfying is the apt reply!	23 L’uomo riceve allegrezza della risposta della sua bocca; E quant’è buona una parola detta al suo tempo!
24 For the prudent, the path of life leads upwards thus avoiding Sheol below.	24 La via della vita va in su all’uomo intendente, Per ritrarsi dall’inferno che è a basso
25 Yahweh pulls down the house of the proud, but he keeps the widow's boundaries intact.	25 Il Signore spianta la casa de’ superbi; Ma stabilisce il confine della vedova
26 Wicked scheming is abhorrent to Yahweh, but words that are kind are pure.	26 I pensieri malvagi son cosa abbominevole al Signore; Ma i detti che gli son piacevoli sono i puri
27 Craving for dishonest gain brings trouble on a house, hatred of bribery earns life.	27 Chi è dato a cupidigia dissipa la sua casa; Ma chi odia i presenti viverà
28 The heart of the upright reflects before answering, the mouth of the wicked spews out wickedness.	28 Il cuor del giusto medita ciò che ha da rispondere; Ma la bocca degli empi sgorga cose malvage
29 Yahweh keeps his distance from the wicked, but he listens to the prayers of the upright.	29 Il Signore è lontano dagli empi; Ma egli esaudisce l’orazione de’ giusti
30 A kindly glance gives joy to the heart, good news lends strength to the bones.	30 La luce degli occhi rallegra il cuore; La buona novella ingrassa le ossa
31 The ear attentive to wholesome correction finds itself at home in the company of the wise.	31 L’orecchio che ascolta la riprensione della vita Dimorerà per mezzo i savi
32 Whoever rejects correction lacks self-respect, whoever accepts reproof grows in understanding.	32 Chi schifa la correzione disdegna l’anima sua; Ma chi ascolta la riprensione acquista senno
33 The fear of Yahweh is a school of wisdom, before there can be glory, there must be humility.	33 Il timor del Signore è ammaestramento di sapienza; E l’umiltà va davanti alla gloria
