Psalms 91

New Jerusalem Bible	Miqra 'al pi ha-Mesorah
¹ You who live in the secret place of Elyon, spend your nights in the shelter of Shaddai,	¹ יֹשֵׁב בְּסֵתֶר עֶלְיוֹןבְּצֵל שַׁדַּי יִתְלוֹנָֽן׃
² saying to Yahweh, 'My refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!'	² אֹמַר לַיהֹוָה מַחְסִי וּמְצוּדָתִיאֱלֹהַי אֶבְטַח־בּֽוֹ׃
³ He rescues you from the snare of the fowler set on destruction;	³ כִּי הוּא יַצִּילְךָ מִפַּח יָקוּשׁמִדֶּבֶר הַוּֽוֹת׃
⁴ he covers you with his pinions, you find shelter under his wings. His constancy is shield andprotection.	⁴ בְּאֶבְרָתוֹ ׀ יָסֶךְ לָךְוְתַחַת־כְּנָפָיו תֶּחְסֶהצִנָּה וְסֹחֵרָה אֲמִתּֽוֹ׃
⁵ You need not fear the terrors of night, the arrow that flies in the daytime,	⁵ לֹֽא־תִירָא מִפַּחַד לָיְלָהמֵחֵץ יָעוּף יוֹמָֽם׃
⁶ the plague that stalks in the darkness, the scourge that wreaks havoc at high noon.	⁶ מִדֶּבֶר בָּאֹפֶל יַהֲלֹךְמִקֶּטֶב יָשׁוּד צׇהֳרָֽיִם׃
⁷ Though a thousand fal at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, you yourself wil remainunscathed.	⁷ יִפֹּל מִצִּדְּךָ ׀ אֶלֶףוּרְבָבָה מִימִינֶךָאֵלֶיךָ לֹא יִגָּֽשׁ׃
⁸ You have only to keep your eyes open to see how the wicked are repaid,	⁸ רַק בְּעֵינֶיךָ תַבִּיטוְשִׁלֻּמַת רְשָׁעִים תִּרְאֶֽה׃
⁹ you who say, 'Yahweh my refuge!' and make Elyon your fortress.	⁹ כִּֽי־אַתָּה יְהֹוָה מַחְסִיעֶלְיוֹן שַׂמְתָּ מְעוֹנֶֽךָ׃
¹⁰ No disaster can overtake you, no plague come near your tent;	¹⁰ לֹא־תְאֻנֶּה אֵלֶיךָ רָעָהוְנֶגַע לֹא־יִקְרַב בְּאׇהֳלֶֽךָ׃
¹¹ he has given his angels orders about you to guard you wherever you go.	¹¹ כִּי מַלְאָכָיו יְצַוֶּה־לָּךְלִשְׁמׇרְךָ בְּכׇל־דְּרָכֶֽיךָ׃
¹² They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.	¹² עַל־כַּפַּיִם יִשָּׂאוּנְךָפֶּן־תִּגֹּף בָּאֶבֶן רַגְלֶֽךָ׃
¹³ You wil walk upon wild beast and adder, you wil trample young lions and snakes.	¹³ עַל־שַׁחַל וָפֶתֶן תִּדְרֹךְתִּרְמֹס כְּפִיר וְתַנִּֽין׃
¹⁴ 'Since he clings to me I rescue him, I raise him high, since he acknowledges my name.	¹⁴ כִּי בִי חָשַׁק וַאֲפַלְּטֵהוּאֲשַׂגְּבֵהוּ כִּֽי־יָדַע שְׁמִֽי׃
¹⁵ He cal s to me and I answer him: in distress I am at his side, I rescue him and bring him honour.	¹⁵ יִקְרָאֵנִי ׀ וְֽאֶעֱנֵהוּעִמּֽוֹ־אָנֹכִי בְצָרָהאֲחַלְּצֵהוּ וַאֲכַבְּדֵֽהוּ׃
¹⁶ I shal satisfy him with long life, and grant him to see my salvation.'	¹⁶ אֹרֶךְ יָמִים אַשְׂבִּיעֵהוּוְאַרְאֵהוּ בִּישׁוּעָתִֽי׃
