Psalms 91

¹ You who live in the secret place of Elyon, spend your nights in the shelter of Shaddai,	¹ Tú que vives al amparo del Altísimo y resides a la sombra del Todopoderoso,
² saying to Yahweh, 'My refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!'	² di al Señor: «Mi refugio y mi baluarte, mi Dios, en quien confío».
³ He rescues you from the snare of the fowler set on destruction;	³ El te librará de la red del cazador y de la peste perniciosa;
⁴ he covers you with his pinions, you find shelter under his wings. His constancy is shield andprotection.	⁴ su brazo es escudo y coraza.
⁵ You need not fear the terrors of night, the arrow that flies in the daytime,	⁵ No temerás los terrores de la noche, ni la flecha que vuela de día,
⁶ the plague that stalks in the darkness, the scourge that wreaks havoc at high noon.	⁶ ni la peste que acecha en las tinieblas, ni la plaga que devasta a pleno sol.
⁷ Though a thousand fal at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, you yourself wil remainunscathed.	⁷ Aunque caigan mil a tu izquierda y diez mil a tu derecha, tú no serás alcanzado:
⁸ You have only to keep your eyes open to see how the wicked are repaid,	⁸ Con sólo dirigir una mirada, verás el castigo de los malos,
⁹ you who say, 'Yahweh my refuge!' and make Elyon your fortress.	⁹ porque hiciste del Señor tu refugio y pusiste como defensa al Altísimo.
¹⁰ No disaster can overtake you, no plague come near your tent;	¹⁰ No te alcanzará ningún mal, ninguna plaga se acercará a tu carpa,
¹¹ he has given his angels orders about you to guard you wherever you go.	¹¹ porque hiciste del Señor tu refugio y pusiste como defensa al Altísimo
¹² They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.	¹² Ellos te llevarán en sus manos para que no tropieces contra ninguna piedra;
¹³ You wil walk upon wild beast and adder, you wil trample young lions and snakes.	¹³ caminarás sobre leones y víboras, pisotearás cachorros de león y serpientes.
¹⁴ 'Since he clings to me I rescue him, I raise him high, since he acknowledges my name.	¹⁴ «El se entregó a mí, por eso, yo lo glorificaré; lo protegeré, porque conoce mi Nombre;
¹⁵ He cal s to me and I answer him: in distress I am at his side, I rescue him and bring him honour.	¹⁵ me invocará, y yo le responderé. Estará con él en el peligro, lo defenderé y lo glorificaré;
¹⁶ I shal satisfy him with long life, and grant him to see my salvation.'	¹⁶ le haré gozar de una larga vida y le haré ver mi salvación».
