Psalms 91

NEW JERUSALEM	MODERN HEBREW BIBLE
1 You who live in the secret place of Elyon, spend your nights in the shelter of Shaddai,	1 ישב בסתר עליון בצל שדי יתלונן
2 saying to Yahweh, 'My refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!'	2 אמר ליהוה מחסי ומצודתי אלהי אבטח בו
3 He rescues you from the snare of the fowler set on destruction;	3 כי הוא יצילך מפח יקוש מדבר הוות
4 he covers you with his pinions, you find shelter under his wings. His constancy is shield andprotection.	4 באברתו יסך לך ותחת כנפיו תחסה צנה וסחרה אמתו
5 You need not fear the terrors of night, the arrow that flies in the daytime,	5 לא תירא מפחד לילה מחץ יעוף יומם
6 the plague that stalks in the darkness, the scourge that wreaks havoc at high noon.	6 מדבר באפל יהלך מקטב ישוד צהרים
7 Though a thousand fal at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, you yourself wil remainunscathed.	7 יפל מצדך אלף ורבבה מימינך אליך לא יגש
8 You have only to keep your eyes open to see how the wicked are repaid,	8 רק בעיניך תביט ושלמת רשעים תראה
9 you who say, 'Yahweh my refuge!' and make Elyon your fortress.	9 כי אתה יהוה מחסי עליון שמת מעונך
10 No disaster can overtake you, no plague come near your tent;	10 לא תאנה אליך רעה ונגע לא יקרב באהלך
11 he has given his angels orders about you to guard you wherever you go.	11 כי מלאכיו יצוה לך לשמרך בכל דרכיך
12 They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.	12 על כפים ישאונך פן תגף באבן רגלך
13 You wil walk upon wild beast and adder, you wil trample young lions and snakes.	13 על שחל ופתן תדרך תרמס כפיר ותנין
14 'Since he clings to me I rescue him, I raise him high, since he acknowledges my name.	14 כי בי חשק ואפלטהו אשגבהו כי ידע שמי
15 He cal s to me and I answer him: in distress I am at his side, I rescue him and bring him honour.	15 יקראני ואענהו עמו אנכי בצרה אחלצהו ואכבדהו
16 I shal satisfy him with long life, and grant him to see my salvation.'	16 ארך ימים אשביעהו ואראהו בישועתי
