Psalms 91

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 You who live in the secret place of Elyon, spend your nights in the shelter of Shaddai,	1 Aki a Fölségesnek oltalmában lakik, a Mindenható árnyékában nyugszik,
2 saying to Yahweh, 'My refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!'	2 azt mondja az Úrnak: »Te vagy az én oltalmazóm és erősségem, Istenem, akiben bizakodom.«
3 He rescues you from the snare of the fowler set on destruction;	3 Mert ő megment engem a vadászok tőrétől, a súlyos veszélytől.
4 he covers you with his pinions, you find shelter under his wings. His constancy is shield andprotection.	4 Szárnyával árnyékot borít rád, és tollai alatt menedékre találsz; Pajzs és páncél az ő hűsége,
5 You need not fear the terrors of night, the arrow that flies in the daytime,	5 nem kell félned az éjszaka rémeitől, a nappal repülő nyíltól,
6 the plague that stalks in the darkness, the scourge that wreaks havoc at high noon.	6 a sötétben látogató járványtól, a délben pusztító ragálytól.
7 Though a thousand fal at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, you yourself wil remainunscathed.	7 Ezren essenek el bár oldalad mellől és tízezren jobbod felől, hozzád semmi sem közeledik.
8 You have only to keep your eyes open to see how the wicked are repaid,	8 Sőt saját szemeddel fogod nézni, meglátod a gonoszok bűnhődését.
9 you who say, 'Yahweh my refuge!' and make Elyon your fortress.	9 Mert te vagy, Uram, menedékem! Ha a Fölségest választottad oltalmadnak,
10 No disaster can overtake you, no plague come near your tent;	10 balszerencse nem ér téged, csapás nem jut sátrad közelébe.
11 he has given his angels orders about you to guard you wherever you go.	11 Mert angyalainak parancsol felőled, hogy minden utadon őrizzenek.
12 They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.	12 Kezükön hordoznak téged, hogy kőbe ne üssed lábadat.
13 You wil walk upon wild beast and adder, you wil trample young lions and snakes.	13 Áspiskígyón és viperán fogsz járni, eltiprod az oroszlánt és a sárkányt.
14 'Since he clings to me I rescue him, I raise him high, since he acknowledges my name.	14 Mivel bennem bízik, megszabadítom, oltalma leszek, mert ismeri nevemet.
15 He cal s to me and I answer him: in distress I am at his side, I rescue him and bring him honour.	15 Ha kiált hozzám, meghallgatom, a szorongatás idején vele leszek, megmentem és megdicsőítem.
16 I shal satisfy him with long life, and grant him to see my salvation.'	16 Betöltöm őt hosszú élettel, és megmutatom neki üdvösségemet.
