Psalms 91

NEW JERUSALEM	STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH
1 You who live in the secret place of Elyon, spend your nights in the shelter of Shaddai,	1 יֹשֵׁב בְּסֵתֶר עֶלְיֹון בְּצֵל דַּי יִתְלֹונָן
2 saying to Yahweh, 'My refuge, my fortress, my God in whom I trust!'	2 אֹמַר לַיהוָה מַחְסִי וּמְצוּדָתִי אֱלֹהַי אֶבְטַח־בֹּו
3 He rescues you from the snare of the fowler set on destruction;	3 כִּי הוּא יַצִּילְךָ מִפַּח יָקוּשׁ מִדֶּבֶר הַוֹּות
4 he covers you with his pinions, you find shelter under his wings. His constancy is shield andprotection.	4 בְּאֶבְרָתֹו ׀ יָסֶךְ לָךְ וְתַחַת־כְּנָפָיו תֶּחְסֶה צִנָּה וְסֹחֵרָה אֲמִתֹּו
5 You need not fear the terrors of night, the arrow that flies in the daytime,	5 לֹא־תִירָא מִפַּחַד לָיְלָה מֵחֵץ יָעוּף יֹומָם
6 the plague that stalks in the darkness, the scourge that wreaks havoc at high noon.	6 מִדֶּבֶר בָּאֹפֶל יַהֲלֹךְ מִקֶּטֶב יָשׁוּד צָהֳרָיִם
7 Though a thousand fal at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, you yourself wil remainunscathed.	7 יִפֹּל מִצִּדְּךָ ׀ אֶלֶף וּרְבָבָה מִימִינֶךָ אֵלֶיךָ לֹא יִגָּשׁ
8 You have only to keep your eyes open to see how the wicked are repaid,	8 רַק בְּעֵינֶיךָ תַבִּיט וְשִׁלֻּמַת רְשָׁעִים תִּרְאֶה
9 you who say, 'Yahweh my refuge!' and make Elyon your fortress.	9 כִּי־אַתָּה יְהוָה מַחְסִי עֶלְיֹון שַׂמְתָּ מְעֹונֶךָ
10 No disaster can overtake you, no plague come near your tent;	10 לֹא־תְאֻנֶּה אֵלֶיךָ רָעָה וְנֶגַע לֹא־יִקְרַב בְּאָהֳלֶךָ
11 he has given his angels orders about you to guard you wherever you go.	11 כִּי מַלְאָכָיו יְצַוֶּה־לָּךְ לִשְׁמָרְךָ בְּכָל־דְּרָכֶיךָ
12 They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone.	12 עַל־כַּפַּיִם יִשָּׂאוּנְךָ פֶּן־תִּגֹּף בָּאֶבֶן רַגְלֶךָ
13 You wil walk upon wild beast and adder, you wil trample young lions and snakes.	13 עַל־שַׁחַל וָפֶתֶן תִּדְרֹךְ תִּרְמֹס כְּפִיר וְתַנִּין
14 'Since he clings to me I rescue him, I raise him high, since he acknowledges my name.	14 כִּי בִי חָשַׁק וַאֲפַלְּטֵהוּ אֲשַׂגְּבֵהוּ כִּי־יָדַע שְׁמִי
15 He cal s to me and I answer him: in distress I am at his side, I rescue him and bring him honour.	15 יִקְרָאֵנִי ׀ וְאֶעֱנֵהוּ עִמֹּו־אָנֹכִי בְצָרָה אֲחַלְּצֵהוּ וַאֲכַבְּדֵהוּ
16 I shal satisfy him with long life, and grant him to see my salvation.'	16 אֹרֶךְ יָמִים אַשְׂבִּיעֵהוּ וְאַרְאֵהוּ בִּישׁוּעָתִי
