2 he alone is my rock, my safety, my stronghold so that I stand unshaken.	2 Nur (im Aufblick) zu Gott ist meine Seele still:von ihm kommt meine Hilfe (oder: Rettung);
3 How much longer wil you set on a victim, al together, intent on murder, like a rampart already leaningover, a wall already damaged?	3 nur er ist mein Fels und meine Hilfe,meine Burg: ich werde nicht allzusehr wanken.
4 Trickery is their only plan, deception their only pleasure, with lies on their lips they pronounce ablessing, with a curse in their hearts.Pause	4 Wie lange noch lauft ihr Sturm gegen einen Mann,wollt ihn niederschlagen allesamtwie eine sinkende Wand, eine dem Einsturz nahe Mauer?
5 Rest in God alone, my soul! He is the source of my hope.	5 Ja, von seiner Höhe planen sie ihn zu stoßen; Lügen sind ihre Lust;mit dem Munde segnen sie, doch im Herzen fluchen sie. SELA.
6 He alone is my rock, my safety, my stronghold, so that I stand unwavering.	6 Nur (im Aufblick) zu Gott sei still, meine Seele!Denn von ihm kommt meine Hoffnung;
7 In God is my safety and my glory, the rock of my strength. In God is my refuge;	7 nur er ist mein Fels und meine Hilfe (oder: Rettung),meine Burg: ich werde nicht wanken.
8 trust in him, you people, at al times. Pour out your hearts to him, God is a refuge for us.Pause	8 Auf Gott beruht mein Heil und meine Ehre;mein starker Fels, meine Zuflucht liegt in Gott.
9 Ordinary people are a mere puff of wind, important people a delusion; set both on the scales together,and they are lighter than a puff of wind.	9 Vertraut auf ihn zu aller Zeit, ihr Volksgenossen,schüttet vor ihm euer Herz aus: Gott ist unsere Zuflucht. SELA.
10 Put no trust in extortion, no empty hopes in robbery; however much wealth may multiply, do not setyour heart on it.	10 Nur ein Hauch sind Menschensöhne, ein Trug sind Herrensöhne;auf der Waage schnellen sie empor,sind allesamt leichter als ein Hauch.
11 Once God has spoken, twice have I heard this: Strength belongs to God,	11 Verlaßt euch nicht auf Erpressung (= unrecht Gut)und setzt nicht eitle Hoffnung auf Raub;wenn der Reichtum sich mehrt, so hängt das Herz nicht daran!
12 to you, Lord, faithful love; and you repay everyone as their deeds deserve.	12 Eins ist’s, was Gott gesprochen, und zweierlei ist’s, was ich vernommen,daß die Macht bei Gott steht.
	13 Und bei dir, o Allherr, steht auch die Gnade:ja, du vergiltst einem jeden nach seinem Tun.
