2 he alone is my rock, my safety, my stronghold so that I stand unshaken.	2 O Dio, o Dio mio, per te veglio dalla prima luce. Ha sete di te l'anima mia e molto più la mia carne,
3 How much longer wil you set on a victim, al together, intent on murder, like a rampart already leaningover, a wall already damaged?	3 In una terra deserta, impraticabile e senz'acqua. Così mi presentai nel santuario, per contemplar la tua potenza e la tua gloria.
4 Trickery is their only plan, deception their only pleasure, with lies on their lips they pronounce ablessing, with a curse in their hearts.Pause	4 Perchè più preziosa della vita è la tua grazia, le mie labbra ti loderanno.
5 Rest in God alone, my soul! He is the source of my hope.	5 Così io ti benedirò tutta la vita e nel nome tuo alzerò le mie mani.
6 He alone is my rock, my safety, my stronghold, so that I stand unwavering.	6 L'anima mia sarà sazia come di midollo e di grasso e con voci di giubilo ti loderà la miabocca.
7 In God is my safety and my glory, the rock of my strength. In God is my refuge;	7 Se mi ricordo di te nel mio letto, te mediterò nelle mie veglie,
8 trust in him, you people, at al times. Pour out your hearts to him, God is a refuge for us.Pause	8 Perchè tu sei il mio aiuto: Io esulto all'ombra delle tue ali;
9 Ordinary people are a mere puff of wind, important people a delusion; set both on the scales together,and they are lighter than a puff of wind.	9 A te si tiene stretta l'anima mia, mentre la tua destra mi sostiene.
10 Put no trust in extortion, no empty hopes in robbery; however much wealth may multiply, do not setyour heart on it.	10 Essi invano han cercato la mia vita, sprofonderanno negli abissi,
11 Once God has spoken, twice have I heard this: Strength belongs to God,	11 Cadran sotto la spada, saran preda degli sciacalli.
12 to you, Lord, faithful love; and you repay everyone as their deeds deserve.	12 Il re invece si rallegrerà in Dio, saran lodati quelli che giuran per lui, perchè sarà chiusa la bocca dei malignatori.
