¹ [For the choirmaster Tune: 'Do not destroy' Of David In a quiet voice] Divine as you are, do you trulygive upright verdicts? do you judge fairly the children of Adam?	¹ Mictam di Davide, dato al capo de’ Musici, sopra Al-tashet. DI vero, parlate voi giustamente? Giudicate voi dirittamente, o figliuoli di uomini?
² No! You devise injustice in your hearts, and with your hands you administer tyranny on the earth.	² Anzi voi fabbricate perversità nel cuor vostro; Voi bilanciate la violenza delle vostre mani in terra.
³ Since the womb they have gone astray, the wicked, on the wrong path since their birth, with theirunjust verdicts.	³ Questi empi sono stati alienati fin dalla matrice; Questi parlatori di menzogna sono stati sviati fin dal seno della madre.
⁴ They are poisonous as any snake, deaf as an adder that blocks its ears	⁴ Hanno del veleno simile al veleno del serpente; Sono come l’aspido sordo, che si tura le orecchie;
⁵ so as not to hear the magician's music, however skilful his spel s.	⁵ Il qual non ascolta la voce degl’incantatori, Nè di chi è saputo in fare incantagioni
⁶ God, break the teeth in their mouths, snap off the fangs of these young lions, Yahweh.	⁶ O Dio, stritola loro i denti nella lor bocca; O Signore, rompi i mascellari de’ leoncelli.
⁷ May they drain away like water running to waste, may they wither like trampled grass,	⁷ Struggansi come acque, e vadansene via; Tiri Iddio le sue saette, e in uno stante sieno ricisi.
⁸ like the slug that melts as it moves or a still-born child that never sees the sun.	⁸ Trapassino, come una lumaca che si disfa; Come l’abortivo di una donna, non veggano il sole.
⁹ Before they sprout thorns like the bramble, green or burnt up, may retribution whirl them away.	⁹ Avanti che le vostre pignatte sentano il fuoco del pruno, Porti via la bufera il verde ed il secco.
¹⁰ The upright wil rejoice to see vengeance done, and wil bathe his feet in the blood of the wicked.	¹⁰ Il giusto si rallegrerà, quando avrà veduta la vendetta; Egli bagnerà i suoi piedi nel sangue dell’empio.
¹¹ 'So', people wil say, 'the upright does have a reward; there is a God to dispense justice on earth.'	¹¹ E ciascuno dirà: Certo egli vi è frutto pel giusto; Vi è pure un Dio giudice in terra
