1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah Psalm] Hear this, all nations, listen, al who dwel on earth,	1 (Salmo di Asaf). Il Dio degli dèi, il Signore, parla e convoca la terra dall'oriente all'occidente.
2 people high and low, rich and poor alike!	2 Da Sion irraggia la sua bellezza.
3 My lips have wisdom to utter, my heart good sense to whisper.	3 Dio viene con gloria, il nostro Dio, e non in silenzio. Davanti a lui fiamme di fuoco, intorno a lui violenta tempesta.
4 I listen careful y to a proverb, I set my riddle to the music of the harp.	4 Chiama dall'alto il cielo e la terra a giudicare il suo popolo.
5 Why should I be afraid in times of trouble? Malice dogs me and hems me in.	5 Radunategli i suoi santi, quelli che sanciscono il suo patto coi sacrifizi.
6 They trust in their wealth, and boast of the profusion of their riches.	6 E i cieli proclamano la sua giustizia, perchè il giudice è Dio.
7 But no one can ever redeem himself or pay his own ransom to God,	7 « Ascolta, o popolo mio, che vo' parlarti, o Israele, che ti ho da avvertire: Io sono Dio, il tuo Dio.
8 the price for himself is too high; it can never be	8 Non ti rimprovererò per i tuoi sacrifizi: i tuoi olocausti mi stanno sempre davanti.
9 that he wil live on for ever and avoid the sight of the abyss.	9 Non ho bisogno di prendere i vitelli dalla tua casa, nè dal tuo gregge i capri,
10 For he wil see the wise also die no less than the fool and the brute, and leave their wealth behind forothers.	10 Perchè mie son le fiere dei boschi, il bestiame che pascola sui monti e i bovi.
11 For ever no home but their tombs, their dwel ing-place age after age, though they gave their name towhole territories.	11 Conosco tutti gli uccelli dell'aria, e la bellezza dei campi è a mia disposizione.
12 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.	12 Dato che avessi fame, non verrei a dirlo a te, perchè mio è l'universo e tutto ciò che contiene.
13 So they go on in their self-assurance, right up to the end they are content with their lot.Pause	13 Mangerò forse carne di tori, e beverò sangue di capri?
14 They are penned in Sheol like sheep, Death wil lead them to pasture, and those who are honest wilrule over them. In the morning al trace of them wil be gone, Sheol wil be their home.	14 Offri a Dio sacrifizio di lode, e adempì i voti che hai fatti all'Altissimo.
15 But my soul God wil ransom from the clutches of Sheol, and wil snatch me up.Pause	15 E poi invocami nel giorno della tribolazione: io ti libererò e tu mi glorificherai ».
16 Do not be overawed when someone gets rich, and lives in ever greater splendour;	16 Al peccatore poi dice Dio: « Perchè stai a recitare i miei comandamenti, ed hai sempre in bocca il mio patto?
17 when he dies he wil take nothing with him, his wealth wil not go down with him.	17 Tu, che hai in odio la disciplina, e ti sei gettate le mie parole dietro le spalle?
18 Though he pampered himself while he lived -- and people praise you for looking after yourself-	18 Se vedevi un ladro correvi con lui, facevi comunella cogli adulteri.
19 he will go to join the ranks of his ancestors, who wil never again see the light.	19 La tua bocca fu piena di malizia, la tua lingua ordì inganni.
20 In prosperity people lose their good sense, they become no better than dumb animals.	20 Stando a sedere parlavi contro il tuo fratello, e mettevi scandali contro il figlio della tua madre.
	21 Facesti queste cose, ed io tacqui. Credevi, o iniquo, che io debba essere simile a te! Ma io ti convincerò, e ti metterò ogni cosa sotto gli occhi.
	22 Ponete mente a queste cose, voi che dimenticate Dio, affinchè non vi porti via, senza aver chi vi liberi.
	23 Il sacrifizio di lode mi darà onore. Ed è questa la via per la quale mostrerò all'uomo la salvezza che vien da Dio ».
