2 towering in beauty, the joy of the whole world: Mount Zion in the heart of the north, the settlement ofthe great king;	2 Grande è il Signore e degno di ogni lodenella città del nostro Dio.La tua santa montagna,
3 God himself among its palaces has proved himself its bulwark.	3 altura stupenda,è la gioia di tutta la terra.Il monte Sion, vera dimora divina,è la capitale del grande re.
4 For look, kings made al iance, together they advanced;	4 Dio nei suoi palazziun baluardo si è dimostrato.
5 without a second glance, when they saw, they panicked and fled away.	5 Ecco, i re si erano alleati,avanzavano insieme.
6 Trembling seized them on the spot, pains like those of a woman in labour;	6 Essi hanno visto:atterriti, presi dal panico, sono fuggiti.
7 it was the east wind, that wrecker of ships from Tarshish.	7 Là uno sgomento li ha colti,doglie come di partoriente,
8 What we had heard we saw for ourselves in the city of our God, in the city of Yahweh Sabaoth, whichGod has established for ever.Pause	8 simile al vento orientale,che squarcia le navi di Tarsis.
9 We reflect on your faithful love, God, in your temple!	9 Come avevamo udito, così abbiamo vistonella città del Signore degli eserciti,nella città del nostro Dio;Dio l’ha fondata per sempre.
10 Both your name and your praise, God, are over the whole wide world. Your right hand is ful of savingjustice,	10 O Dio, meditiamo il tuo amoredentro il tuo tempio.
11 Mount Zion rejoices, the daughters of Judah delight because of your saving justice.	11 Come il tuo nome, o Dio,così la tua lode si estendesino all’estremità della terra;di giustizia è piena la tua destra.
12 Go round Zion, walk right through her, count her bastions,	12 Gioisca il monte Sion,esultino i villaggi di Giudaa causa dei tuoi giudizi.
13 admire her walls, examine her palaces, to tel future generations	13 Circondate Sion, giratele intorno,contate le sue torri,
14 that such is God; our God for ever and ever, he is our guide!	14 osservate le sue mura,passate in rassegna le sue fortezze,per narrare alla generazione futura:
	15 questo è Dio,il nostro Dio in eterno e per sempre;egli è colui che ci guida in ogni tempo.
