2 My God, I cal by day but you do not answer, at night, but I find no respite.	2 Deus, Deus meus, quare me dereliquisti? Longe a salute mea verba rugitus mei.
3 Yet you, the Holy One, who make your home in the praises of Israel,	3 Deus meus, clamo per diem, et non exaudis, et nocte, et non est requies mihi.
4 in you our ancestors put their trust, they trusted and you set them free.	4 Tu autem sanctus es, qui habitas in laudibus Israel.
5 To you they cal ed for help and were delivered; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.	5 In te speraverunt patres nostri, speraverunt, et liberasti eos;
6 But I am a worm, less than human, scorn of mankind, contempt of the people;	6 ad te clamaverunt et salvi facti sunt, in te speraverunt et non sunt confusi.
7 al who see me jeer at me, they sneer and wag their heads,	7 Ego autem sum vermis et non homo, opprobrium hominum et abiectio plebis.
8 'He trusted himself to Yahweh, let Yahweh set him free! Let him deliver him, as he took such delight inhim.'	8 Omnes videntes me deriserunt me; torquentes labia moverunt caput:
9 It was you who drew me from the womb and soothed me on my mother's breast.	9 “ Speravit in Domino: eripiat eum, salvum faciat eum, quoniam vult eum ”.
10 On you was I cast from my birth, from the womb I have belonged to you.	10 Quoniam tu es qui extraxisti me de ventre, spes mea ad ubera matris meae.
11 Do not hold aloof, for trouble is upon me, and no one to help me!	11 In te proiectus sum ex utero, de ventre matris meae Deus meus es tu.
12 Many bulls are encircling me, wild bul s of Bashan closing in on me.	12 Ne longe fias a me, quoniam tribulatio proxima est, quoniam non est qui adiuvet.
13 Lions ravening and roaring open their jaws at me.	13 Circumdederunt me vituli multi, tauri Basan obsederunt me.
14 My strength is trickling away, my bones are al disjointed, my heart has turned to wax, melting insideme.	14 Aperuerunt super me os suum sicut leo rapiens et rugiens.
15 My mouth is dry as earthenware, my tongue sticks to my jaw. You lay me down in the dust of death.	15 Sicut aqua effusus sum, et dissoluta sunt omnia ossa mea. Factum est cor meum tamquam cera liquescens in medio ventris mei.
16 A pack of dogs surrounds me, a gang of villains closing in on me as if to hack off my hands and myfeet.	16 Aruit tamquam testa palatum meum, et lingua mea adhaesit faucibus meis, et in pulverem mortis deduxisti me.
17 I can count every one of my bones, while they look on and gloat;	17 Quoniam circumdederunt me canes multi, concilium malignantium obsedit me. Foderunt manus meas et pedes meos,
18 they divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.	18 et dinumeravi omnia ossa mea. Ipsi vero consideraverunt et inspexerunt me;
19 Yahweh, do not hold aloof! My strength, come quickly to my help,	19 diviserunt sibi vestimenta mea et super vestem meam miserunt sortem.
20 rescue my soul from the sword, the one life I have from the grasp of the dog!	20 Tu autem, Domine, ne elongaveris; fortitudo mea, ad adiuvandum me festina.
21 Save me from the lion's mouth, my poor life from the wild bul s' horns!	21 Erue a framea animam meam et de manu canis unicam meam.
22 I shal proclaim your name to my brothers, praise you in ful assembly:	22 Salva me ex ore leonis et a cornibus unicornium humilitatem meam.
23 'You who fear Yahweh, praise him! Al the race of Jacob, honour him! Revere him, all the race ofIsrael!'	23 Narrabo nomen tuum fratribus meis, in medio ecclesiae laudabo te.
24 For he has not despised nor disregarded the poverty of the poor, has not turned away his face, buthas listened to the cry for help.	24 Qui timetis Dominum, laudate eum; universum semen Iacob, glorificate eum. Metuat eum omne semen Israel,
25 Of you is my praise in the thronged assembly, I wil perform my vows before al who fear him.	25 quoniam non sprevit neque despexit afflictionem pauperis nec avertit faciem suam ab eo et, cum clamaret ad eum, exaudivit.
26 The poor wil eat and be fil ed, those who seek Yahweh wil praise him, 'May your heart live for ever.'	26 Apud te laus mea in ecclesia magna; vota mea reddam in conspectu timentiumeum.
27 The whole wide world wil remember and return to Yahweh, al the families of nations bow downbefore him.	27 Edent pauperes et saturabuntur; et laudabunt Dominum, qui requirunt eum: “ Vivant corda eorum in saeculum saeculi! ”.
28 For to Yahweh, ruler of the nations, belongs kingly power!	28 Reminiscentur et convertentur ad Dominum universi fines terrae, et adorabunt in conspectu eius universae familiae gentium.
29 Al who prosper on earth wil bow before him, al who go down to the dust wil do reverence beforehim. And those who are dead,	29 Quoniam Domini est regnum, et ipse dominabitur gentium.
30 their descendants wil serve him, wil proclaim his name to generations	30 Ipsum solum adorabunt omnes, qui dormiunt in terra; in conspectu eius procident omnes, qui descendunt in pulverem. Anima autem mea illi vivet,
31 stil to come; and these will tel of his saving justice to a people yet unborn: he has fulfilled it.	31 et semen meum serviet ipsi. Narrabitur de Domino generationi venturae;
	32 et annuntiabunt iustitiam eius populo, qui nascetur: “ Haec fecit Dominus! ”.
