Psalms 147

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Al eluia! Praise Yahweh -- it is good to sing psalms to our God -- how pleasant to praise him.	1 Salmo. Louvai o Senhor porque ele é bom; cantai ao nosso Deus porque ele é amável, e o louvor lhe convém.
2 Yahweh, Builder of Jerusalem! He gathers together the exiles of Israel,	2 O Senhor reconstrói Jerusalém, e congrega os dispersos de Israel.
3 healing the broken-hearted and binding up their wounds;	3 Ele cura os que têm o coração ferido, e pensa-lhes as chagas.
4 he counts out the number of the stars, and gives each one of them a name.	4 É ele que fixa o número das estrelas, e designa cada uma por seu nome.
5 Our Lord is great, al -powerful, his wisdom beyond al telling.	5 Grande é o Senhor nosso e poderosa a sua força; sua sabedoria não tem limites.
6 Yahweh sustains the poor, and humbles the wicked to the ground.	6 O Senhor eleva os humildes, mas abate os ímpios até a terra.
7 Sing to Yahweh in thanksgiving, play the harp for our God.	7 Cantai ao Senhor um cântico de gratidão, cantai ao nosso Deus com a harpa.
8 He veils the sky with clouds, and provides the earth with rain, makes grass grow on the hills andplants for people to use,	8 A ele que cobre os céus de nuvens, que faz cair a chuva à terra; a ele que faz crescer a relva nas montanhas, e germinar plantas úteis para o homem.
9 gives fodder to cattle and to young ravens when they cry.	9 Que dá sustento aos rebanhos, aos filhotes dos corvos que por ele clamam.
10 He takes no delight in the power of horses, no pleasure in human sturdiness;	10 Não é o vigor do cavalo que lhe agrada, nem ele se compraz nos jarretes do corredor.
11 his pleasure is in those who fear him, in those who hope in his faithful love.	11 Agradam ao Senhor somente os que o temem, e confiam em sua misericórdia.
12 Praise Yahweh, Jerusalem, Zion, praise your God.	12 Salmo. Louva, ó Jerusalém, ao Senhor; louva o teu Deus, ó Sião,
13 For he gives strength to the bars of your gates, he blesses your children within you,	13 porque ele reforçou os ferrolhos de tuas portas, e abençoou teus filhos em teu seio.
14 he maintains the peace of your frontiers, gives you your fil of finest wheat.	14 Estabeleceu a paz em tuas fronteiras, e te nutre com a flor do trigo.
15 He sends his word to the earth, his command runs quickly,	15 Ele revelou sua palavra a Jacó, e aí ela corre velozmente.
16 he spreads the snow like flax, strews hoarfrost like ashes,	16 Ele faz cair a neve como lã, espalha a geada, como cinza.
17 he sends ice-crystals like breadcrumbs, and who can withstand that cold?	17 Atira o seu granizo como migalhas de pão, diante de seu frio as águas se congelam.
18 When he sends his word it thaws them, when he makes his wind blow, the waters are unstopped.	18 À sua ordem, porém, elas se derretem; faz soprar o vento e as águas correm de novo.
19 He reveals his word to Jacob, his statutes and judgements to Israel.	19 Ele revelou sua palavra a Jacó, sua lei e seus preceitos a Israel.
20 For no other nation has he done this, no other has known his judgements.	20 Com nenhum outro povo agiu assim, a nenhum deles manifestou seus mandamentos.
