Psalms 138

NEW JERUSALEM	STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH
1 [Of David] I thank you, Yahweh, with all my heart, for you have listened to the cry I uttered. In thepresence of angels I sing to you,	1 לְדָוִד ׀ אֹודְךָ בְכָל־לִבִּי נֶגֶד אֱלֹהִים אֲזַמְּרֶךָּ
2 I bow down before your holy Temple. I praise your name for your faithful love and your constancy;your promises surpass even your fame.	2 אֶשְׁתַּחֲוֶה אֶל־הֵיכַל קָדְשְׁךָ וְאֹודֶה אֶת־שְׁמֶךָ עַל־חַסְדְּךָ וְעַל־אֲמִתֶּךָ כִּי־הִגְדַּלְתָּ עַל־כָּלשִׁ־מְךָ אִמְרָתֶךָ
3 You heard me on the day when I cal ed, and you gave new strength to my heart.	3 בְּיֹום קָרָאתִי וַתַּעֲנֵנִי תַּרְהִבֵנִי בְנַפְשִׁי עֹז
4 Al the kings of the earth give thanks to you, Yahweh, when they hear the promises you make;	4 יֹודוּךָ יְהוָה כָּל־מַלְכֵי־אָרֶץ כִּי מְעוּ אִמְרֵי־פִיךָ
5 they sing of Yahweh's ways, 'Great is the glory of Yahweh!'	5 וְיָשִׁירוּ בְּדַרְכֵי יְהוָה כִּי גָדֹול כְּבֹוד יְהוָה
6 Sublime as he is, Yahweh looks on the humble, the proud he picks out from afar.	6 כִּי־רָם יְהוָה וְשָׁפָל יִרְאֶה וְגָבֹהַּ מִמֶּרְחָק יְיֵדָע
7 Though I live surrounded by trouble you give me life -- to my enemies' fury! You stretch out your righthand and save me,	7 אִם־אֵלֵךְ ׀ בְּקֶרֶב צָרָה תְּחַיֵּנִי עַל אַף אֹיְבַי תִּשְׁלַח יָדֶךָ וְתֹושִׁיעֵנִי יְמִינֶךָ
8 Yahweh will do al things for me. Yahweh, your faithful love endures for ever, do not abandon what you have made.	8 יְהוָה יִגְמֹר בַּעֲדִי יְהוָה חַסְדְּךָ לְעֹולָם מַעֲשֵׂי יָדֶיךָ אַל־תֶּרֶף
