Psalms 138

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 [Of David] I thank you, Yahweh, with all my heart, for you have listened to the cry I uttered. In thepresence of angels I sing to you,	1 David. Confitebor tibi, Domine, in toto corde meo, quoniam audisti verba oris mei. In conspectu angelorum psallam tibi,
2 I bow down before your holy Temple. I praise your name for your faithful love and your constancy;your promises surpass even your fame.	2 adorabo ad templum sanctum tuum; et confitebor nomini tuo propter misericordiam tuam et veritatem tuam, quoniam magnificasti super omne nomen eloquium tuum.
3 You heard me on the day when I cal ed, and you gave new strength to my heart.	3 In quacumque die invocavero te, exaudi me; multiplicabis in anima mea virtutem.
4 Al the kings of the earth give thanks to you, Yahweh, when they hear the promises you make;	4 Confitebuntur tibi, Domine, omnes reges terrae, quia audierunt eloquia oris tui.
5 they sing of Yahweh's ways, 'Great is the glory of Yahweh!'	5 Et cantabunt vias Domini, quoniam magna est gloria Domini;
6 Sublime as he is, Yahweh looks on the humble, the proud he picks out from afar.	6 quoniam excelsus Dominus et humilem respicit et superbum a longe cognoscit.
7 Though I live surrounded by trouble you give me life -- to my enemies' fury! You stretch out your righthand and save me,	7 Si ambulavero in medio tribulationis, vivificabis me; et contra iram inimicorum meorum extendes manum tuam, et salvum me faciet dextera tua.
8 Yahweh will do al things for me. Yahweh, your faithful love endures for ever, do not abandon what you have made.	8 Dominus perficiet pro me; Domine, misericordia tua in saeculum: opera manuum tuarum ne despicias.
