Psalms 138

1 [Of David] I thank you, Yahweh, with all my heart, for you have listened to the cry I uttered. In thepresence of angels I sing to you,	1 Dávidtól. Hálát adok neked, Uram, teljes szívemből, mert meghallgattad szájam szavát. Magasztallak az angyalok színe előtt,
2 I bow down before your holy Temple. I praise your name for your faithful love and your constancy;your promises surpass even your fame.	2 leborulok szent templomod felé, áldást mondok nevednek irgalmadért és igazságodért, mert mindenek fölött felmagasztaltad szent nevedet.
3 You heard me on the day when I cal ed, and you gave new strength to my heart.	3 Bármikor hívtalak segítségül, meghallgattál engem, és gyarapítottad az erőt lelkemben.
4 Al the kings of the earth give thanks to you, Yahweh, when they hear the promises you make;	4 Hálát ad neked, Uram, a föld minden királya, a te szád minden szavának hallatára,
5 they sing of Yahweh's ways, 'Great is the glory of Yahweh!'	5 és megéneklik az Úr útjait, mert nagy az Úr dicsősége.
6 Sublime as he is, Yahweh looks on the humble, the proud he picks out from afar.	6 Fölséges az Úr és rátekint az alázatosakra, de messziről megismeri a felfuvalkodottakat.
7 Though I live surrounded by trouble you give me life -- to my enemies' fury! You stretch out your righthand and save me,	7 Ha szorongatások között járok is, megőrzöd életemet; Ellenségeim haragjával szemben kinyújtod kezedet, és jobbod megszabadít engem.
8 Yahweh will do al things for me. Yahweh, your faithful love endures for ever, do not abandon what you have made.	8 Az Úr mindezt véghezviszi értem, Uram, irgalmad örökkévaló: ne vesd meg kezed alkotásait!
