1 How blessed are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the Law of Yahweh!	1 ALLELUIA. ALEPH. Beati immaculati in via, qui ambulant in lege Domini.
2 Blessed are those who observe his instructions, who seek him with all their hearts,	2 Beati, qui servant testimonia eius, in toto corde exquirunt eum.
3 and, doing no evil, who walk in his ways.	3 Non enim operati sunt iniquitatem, in viis eius ambulaverunt.
4 You lay down your precepts to be careful y kept.	4 Tu mandasti mandata tua custodiri nimis.
5 May my ways be steady in doing your wil .	5 Utinam dirigantur viae meae ad custodiendas iustificationes tuas!
6 Then I shal not be shamed, if my gaze is fixed on your commandments.	6 Tunc non confundar, cum perspexero in omnibus praeceptis tuis.
7 I thank you with a sincere heart for teaching me your upright judgements.	7 Confitebor tibi in directione cordis, in eo quod didici iudicia iustitiae tuae.
8 I shal do your will; do not ever abandon me whol y.	8 Iustificationes tuas custodiam, non me derelinquas usquequaque.
9 How can a young man keep his way spotless? By keeping your words.	9 BETH. In quo mundabit adulescentior viam suam? In custodiendo sermones tuos.
10 With al my heart I seek you, do not let me stray from your commandments.	10 In toto corde meo exquisivi te; ne errare me facias a praeceptis tuis.
11 In my heart I treasure your promises, to avoid sinning against you.	11 In corde meo abscondi eloquia tua, ut non peccem tibi.
12 Blessed are you, Yahweh, teach me your wil !	12 Benedictus es, Domine; doce me iustificationes tuas.
13 With my lips I have repeated al the judgements you have given.	13 In labiis meis numeravi omnia iudicia oris tui.
14 In the way of your instructions lies my joy, a joy beyond al wealth.	14 In via testimoniorum tuorum delectatus sum sicut in omnibus divitiis.
15 I will ponder your precepts and fix my gaze on your paths.	15 In mandatis tuis exercebor et considerabo vias tuas.
16 I find my delight in your wil , I do not forget your words.	16 In iustificationibus tuis delectabor, non obliviscar sermonem tuum.
17 Be generous to your servant and I shal live, and shal keep your words.	17 GHIMEL. Benefac servo tuo, et vivam et custodiam sermonem tuum.
18 Open my eyes and I shal fix my gaze on the wonders of your Law.	18 Revela oculos meos, et considerabo mirabilia de lege tua.
19 Wayfarer though I am on the earth, do not hide your commandments from me.	19 Incola ego sum in terra, non abscondas a me praecepta tua.
20 My heart is pining away with longing at all times for your judgements.	20 Defecit anima mea in desiderando iudicia tua in omni tempore.
21 You have rebuked the arrogant, the accursed, who stray from your commandments.	21 Increpasti superbos; maledicti, qui errant a praeceptis tuis.
22 Set me free from taunts and contempt since I observe your instructions.	22 Aufer a me opprobrium et contemptum, quia testimonia tua servavi.
23 Though princes sit plotting against me, your servant keeps pondering your wil .	23 Etsi principes sedent et adversum me loquuntur, servus tamen tuus exercetur in iustificationibus tuis.
24 Your instructions are my delight, your wishes my counsellors.	24 Nam et testimonia tua delectatio mea, et consilium meum iustificationes tuae.
25 Down in the dust I lie prostrate; true to your word, revive me.	25 DALETH. Adhaesit pulveri anima mea; vivifica me secundum verbum tuum.
26 I tell you my ways and you answer me; teach me your wishes.	26 Vias meas enuntiavi, et exaudisti me; doce me iustificationes tuas.
27 Show me the way of your precepts, that I may reflect on your wonders.	27 Viam mandatorum tuorum fac me intellegere, et exercebor in mirabilibus tuis.
28 I am melting away for grief; true to your word, raise me up.	28 Lacrimata est anima mea prae maerore; erige me secundum verbum tuum.
29 Keep me far from the way of deceit, grant me the grace of your Law.	29 Viam mendacii averte a me et legem tuam da mihi benigne.
30 I have chosen the way of constancy, I have moulded myself to your judgements.	30 Viam veritatis elegi, iudicia tua proposui mihi.
31 I cling to your instructions, Yahweh, do not disappoint me.	31 Adhaesi testimoniis tuis, Domine; noli me confundere.
32 I run the way of your commandments, for you have given me freedom of heart.	32 Viam mandatorum tuorum curram, quia dilatasti cor meum.
33 Teach me, Yahweh, the way of your will, and I wil observe it.	33 HE. Legem pone mihi, Domine, viam iustificationum tuarum, et servabo eam semper.
34 Give me understanding and I will observe your Law, and keep it wholeheartedly.	34 Da mihi intellectum, et servabo legem tuam et custodiam illam in toto corde meo.
35 Guide me in the way of your commandments, for my delight is there.	35 Deduc me in semitam praeceptorum tuorum, quia ipsam volui.
36 Bend my heart to your instructions, not to selfish gain.	36 Inclina cor meum in testimonia tua et non in avaritiam.
37 Avert my eyes from pointless images, by your word give me life.	37 Averte oculos meos, ne videant vanitatem; in via tua vivifica me.
38 Keep your promise to your servant so that al may hold you in awe.	38 Suscita servo tuo eloquium tuum, quod est ad timorem tuum.
39 Avert the taunts that I dread, for your judgements are generous.	39 Amove opprobrium meum, quod suspicatus sum, quia iudicia tua iucunda.
40 See how I yearn for your precepts; in your saving justice give me life.	40 Ecce concupivi mandata tua; in iustitia tua vivifica me.
41 Let your faithful love come to me, Yahweh, true to your promise, save me!	41 VAU. Et veniat super me misericordia tua, Domine, salutare tuum secundum eloquium tuum.
42 Give me an answer to the taunts against me, since I rely on your word.	42 Et respondebo exprobrantibus mihi verbum, quia speravi in sermonibus tuis.
43 Do not deprive me of that faithful word, since my hope lies in your judgements.	43 Et ne auferas de ore meo verbum veritatis usquequaque, quia in iudiciis tuis supersperavi.
44 I shal keep your Law without fail for ever and ever.	44 Et custodiam legem tuam semper, in saeculum et in saeculum saeculi.
45 I shal live in all freedom because I have sought your precepts.	45 Et ambulabo in latitudine, quia mandata tua exquisivi.
46 I shal speak of your instructions before kings and wil not be shamed.	46 Et loquar de testimoniis tuis in conspectu regum et non confundar.
47 Your commandments fill me with delight, I love them dearly.	47 Et delectabor in praeceptis tuis, quae dilexi.
48 I stretch out my hands to your commandments that I love, and I ponder your judgements.	48 Et levabo manus meas ad praecepta tua, quae dilexi; et exercebor in iustificationibus tuis. -
49 Keep in mind your promise to your servant on which I have built my hope.	49 ZAIN. Memor esto verbi tui servo tuo, in quo mihi spem dedisti.
50 It is my comfort in distress, that your promise gives me life.	50 Hoc me consolatum est in humiliatione mea, quia eloquium tuum vivificavit me.
51 Endlessly the arrogant have jeered at me, but I have not swerved from your Law.	51 Superbi deriserunt me vehementer; a lege autem tua non declinavi.
52 I have kept your age -- old judgements in mind, Yahweh, and I am comforted.	52 Memor fui iudiciorum tuorum a saeculo, Domine, et consolatus sum.
53 Fury grips me when I see the wicked who abandon your Law.	53 Indignatio tenuit me propter peccatores derelinquentes legem tuam.
54 Your judgements are my song where I live in exile.	54 Cantica factae sunt mihi iustificationes tuae in loco peregrinationis meae.
55 Al night, Yahweh, I hold your name in mind, I keep your Law.	55 Memor fui nocte nominis tui, Domine, et custodiam legem tuam.
56 This is what it means to me, observing your precepts.	56 Hoc factum est mihi, quia mandata tua servavi.
57 My task, I have said, Yahweh, is to keep your word.	57 HETH. Portio mea Dominus: dixi custodire verba tua.
58 Wholeheartedly I entreat your favour; true to your promise, take pity on me!	58 Deprecatus sum faciem tuam in toto corde meo; miserere mei secundum eloquium tuum.
59 I have reflected on my ways, and I turn my steps to your instructions.	59 Cogitavi vias meas et converti pedes meos in testimonia tua.
60 I hurry without delay to keep your commandments.	60 Festinavi et non sum moratus, ut custodiam praecepta tua.
61 Though caught in the snares of the wicked, I do not forget your Law.	61 Funes peccatorum circumplexi sunt me, et legem tuam non sum oblitus.
62 At midnight I rise to praise you for your upright judgements.	62 Media nocte surgebam ad confitendum tibi super iudicia iustitiae tuae.
63 I am a friend to all who fear you and keep your precepts.	63 Particeps ego sum omnium timentium te et custodientium mandata tua.
64 Your faithful love fil s the earth, Yahweh, teach me your judgements.	64 Misericordia tua, Domine, plena est terra; iustificationes tuas doce me.
65 You have been generous to your servant, Yahweh, true to your promise.	65 TETH. Bonitatem fecisti cum servo tuo, Domine, secundum verbum tuum.
66 Teach me judgement and knowledge, for I rely on your commandments.	66 Bonitatem et prudentiam et scientiam doce me, quia praeceptis tuis credidi.
67 Before I was punished I used to go astray, but now I keep to your promise.	67 Priusquam humiliarer ego erravi; nunc autem eloquium tuum custodiam.
68 You are generous and act generously, teach me your wil .	68 Bonus es tu et benefaciens, doce me iustificationes tuas.
69 The arrogant blacken me with lies though I wholeheartedly observe your precepts.	69 Excogitaverunt contra me dolosa superbi, ego autem in toto corde meo servabo mandata tua.
70 Their hearts are gross like rich fat, but my delight is in your Law.	70 Incrassatum est sicut adeps cor eorum, ego vero in lege tua delectatus sum.
71 It was good for me that I had to suffer, the better to learn your judgements.	71 Bonum mihi quia humiliatus sum, ut discam iustificationes tuas.
72 The Law you have uttered is more precious to me than al the wealth in the world.	72 Bonum mihi lex oris tui super milia auri et argenti.
73 Your hands have made me and held me firm, give me understanding and I shal learn yourcommandments.	73 IOD. Manus tuae fecerunt me et plasmaverunt me; da mihi intellectum, et discam praecepta tua.
74 Those who fear you rejoice at the sight of me since I put my hope in your word.	74 Qui timent te, videbunt me et laetabuntur, quia in verba tua supersperavi.
75 I know, Yahweh, that your judgements are upright, and in punishing me you show your constancy.	75 Cognovi, Domine, quia aequitas iudicia tua, et in veritate humiliasti me.
76 Your faithful love must be my consolation, as you have promised your servant.	76 Fiat misericordia tua, ut consoletur me, secundum eloquium tuum servo tuo.
77 Treat me with tenderness and I shall live, for your Law is my delight.	77 Veniant mihi miserationes tuae, et vivam, quia lex tua delectatio mea est.
78 Let the arrogant who tell lies against me be shamed, while I ponder your precepts.	78 Confundantur superbi, quoniam dolose incurvaverunt me, ego autem exercebor in mandatis tuis.
79 Let those who fear you rally to me, those who understand your instructions.	79 Convertantur mihi timentes te, et qui noverunt testimonia tua.
80 My heart shall be faultless towards your wil ; then I shall not be ashamed.	80 Fiat cor meum immaculatum in iustificationibus tuis, ut non confundar.
81 I shal wear myself out for your salvation, for your word is my hope.	81 CAPH. Defecit in salutare tuum anima mea, et in verbum tuum supersperavi.
82 My eyes, too, are worn out waiting for your promise, when wil you have pity on me?	82 Defecerunt oculi mei in eloquium tuum, dicentes: “ Quando consolaberis me? ”.
83 For I am like a smoked wineskin, but I do not forget your wil .	83 Quia factus sum sicut uter in fumo; iustificationes tuas non sum oblitus.
84 How long has your servant to live? When wil you bring my persecutors to judgement?	84 Quot sunt dies servi tui? Quando facies de persequentibus me iudicium?
85 The arrogant have dug pitfalls for me in defiance of your Law.	85 Foderunt mihi foveas superbi, qui non sunt secundum legem tuam.
86 Al your commandments show constancy. Help me when they pursue me dishonestly.	86 Omnia praecepta tua veritas; dolose persecuti sunt me; adiuva me.
87 They have almost annihilated me on earth, but I have not deserted your precepts.	87 Paulo minus consummaverunt me in terra, ego autem non dereliqui mandata tua.
88 True to your faithful love, give me life, and I shal keep the instructions you have laid down.	88 Secundum misericordiam tuam vivifica me, et custodiam testimonia oris tui. -
89 For ever, Yahweh, your word is planted firm in heaven.	89 LAMED. In aeternum, Domine, verbum tuum constitutum est in caelo.
90 Your constancy endures from age to age; you established the earth and it stands firm.	90 In generationem et generationem veritas tua; firmasti terram, et permanet.
91 Through your judgements al stands firm to this day, for al creation is your servant.	91 Secundum iudicia tua permanent hodie, quoniam omnia serviunt tibi.
92 Had your Law not been my delight, I would have perished in my misery.	92 Nisi quod lex tua delectatio mea est, tunc forte periissem in humilia tione mea.
93 I shal never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life.	93 In aeternum non obliviscar man data tua, quia in ipsis vivificasti me.
94 I am yours, save me, for I seek your precepts.	94 Tuus sum ego: salvum me fac, quoniam mandata tua exqui sivi.
95 The wicked may hope to destroy me, but al my thought is of your instructions.	95 Me exspectaverunt peccatores, ut perderent me; testimonia tua intellexi.
96 I have seen that al perfection is finite, but your commandment has no limit.	96 Omni consummationi vidi finem, latum praeceptum tuum nimis.
97 How I love your Law! I ponder it al day long.	97 MEM. Quomodo dilexi legem tuam, Domine; tota die meditatio mea est.
98 You make me wiser than my enemies by your commandment which is mine for ever.	98 Super inimicos meos sapientem me fecit praeceptum tuum, quia in aeternum mihi est.
99 I am wiser than al my teachers because I ponder your instructions.	99 Super omnes docentes me prudens factus sum, quia testimonia tua meditatio mea est.
100 I have more understanding than the aged because I keep your precepts.	100 Super senes intellexi, quia mandata tua servavi.
101 I restrain my foot from evil paths to keep your word.	101 Ab omni via mala prohibui pedes meos, ut custodiam verba tua.
102 I do not turn aside from your judgements, because you yourself have instructed me.	102 A iudiciis tuis non declinavi, quia tu legem posuisti mihi.
103 How pleasant your promise to my palate, sweeter than honey in my mouth!	103 Quam dulcia faucibus meis eloquia tua, super mel ori meo.
104 From your precepts I learn wisdom, so I hate all deceptive ways.	104 A mandatis tuis intellexi; propterea odivi omnem viam mendacii.
105 Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.	105 NUN. Lucerna pedibus meis verbum tuum et lumen semitis meis.
106 I have sworn -- and shal maintain it -- to keep your upright judgements.	106 Iuravi et statui custodire iudicia iustitiae tuae.
107 I am utterly wretched, Yahweh; true to your promise, give me life.	107 Humiliatus sum usquequaque, Domine; vivifica me secundum verbum tuum.
108 Accept, Yahweh, the tribute from my mouth, and teach me your judgements.	108 Voluntaria oris mei beneplacita sint, Domine, et iudicia tua doce me.
109 My life is in your hands perpetual y, I do not forget your Law.	109 Anima mea in manibus meis semper, et legem tuam non sum oblitus.
110 The wicked have laid out a snare for me, but I have not strayed from your precepts.	110 Posuerunt peccatores laqueum mihi, et de mandatis tuis non erravi.
111 Your instructions are my eternal heritage, they are the joy of my heart.	111 Hereditas mea testimonia tua in aeternum, quia exsultatio cordis mei sunt.
112 I devote myself to obeying your statutes, their recompense is eternal.	112 Inclinavi cor meum ad faciendas iustificationes tuas in aeternum, in finem.
113 I hate a divided heart, I love your Law.	113 SAMECH. Duplices corde odio habui et legem tuam dilexi.
114 You are my refuge and shield, I put my hope in your word.	114 Tegmen et scutum meum es tu, et in verbum tuum supersperavi.
115 Leave me alone, you wicked, I shal observe the commandments of my God.	115 Declinate a me, maligni, et servabo praecepta Dei mei.
116 True to your word, support me and I shal live; do not disappoint me of my hope.	116 Suscipe me secundum eloquium tuum, et vivam; et non confundas me ab exspectatione mea.
117 Uphold me and I shall be saved, my gaze fixed on your wil .	117 Sustenta me, et salvus ero et delectabor in iustificationibus tuis semper.
118 You shake off al who stray from your wil ; deceit fills their horizon.	118 Sprevisti omnes discedentes a iustificationibus tuis, quia mendacium cogitatio eorum.
119 In your sight al the wicked of the earth are like rust, so I love your instructions.	119 Quasi scoriam delesti omnes peccatores terrae; ideo dilexi testimonia tua.
120 My whole body trembles before you, your judgements fill me with fear.	120 Horruit a timore tuo caro mea; a iudiciis enim tuis timui.
121 Al my conduct has been just and upright, do not hand me over to my oppressors.	121 AIN. Feci iudicium et iustitiam; non tradas me calumniantibus me.
122 Guarantee the wel -being of your servant, do not let the proud oppress me.	122 Sponde pro servo tuo in bonum; non calumnientur me superbi.
123 My eyes are languishing for your salvation and for the saving justice you have promised.	123 Oculi mei defecerunt in desiderio salutaris tui et eloquii iustitiae tuae.
124 Show your faithful love to your servant, teach me your judgements.	124 Fac cum servo tuo secundum misericordiam tuam et iustificationes tuas doce me.
125 Your servant am I; give me understanding and I shal know your instructions.	125 Servus tuus sum ego; da mihi intellectum, ut sciam testimonia tua.
126 It is time to take action, Yahweh, your Law is being broken.	126 Tempus faciendi Domino; dissipaverunt legem tuam.
127 So I love your commandments more than gold, purest gold.	127 Ideo dilexi praecepta tua super aurum et obryzum.
128 So I rule my life by your precepts, I hate al deceptive paths.	128 Propterea ad omnia mandata tua dirigebar, omnem viam mendacii odio habui. -
129 Wonderful are your instructions, so I observe them.	129 PHE. Mirabilia testimonia tua, ideo servavit ea anima mea.
130 As your word unfolds it gives light, and even the simple understand.	130 Declaratio sermonum tuorum illuminat et intellectum dat parvulis.
131 I open wide my mouth, panting eagerly for your commandments.	131 Os meum aperui et attraxi spiritum, quia praecepta tua desiderabam.
132 Turn to me, pity me; those who love your name deserve it.	132 Convertere in me et miserere mei secundum iudicium tuum cum diligentibus nomen tuum.
133 Keep my steps firm in your promise; that no evil may triumph over me.	133 Gressus meos dirige secundum eloquium tuum, et non dominetur mei omnis iniquitas.
134 Rescue me from human oppression, and I wil observe your precepts.	134 Redime me a calumniis hominum, ut custodiam mandata tua.
135 Let your face shine on your servant, teach me your wil .	135 Faciem tuam illumina super servum tuum et doce me iustificationes tuas.
136 My eyes stream with tears because your Law is disregarded.	136 Rivulos aquarum deduxerunt oculi mei, quia non custodierunt legem tuam.
137 You are upright, Yahweh, and your judgements are honest.	137 SADE. Iustus es, Domine, et rectum iudicium tuum.
138 You impose uprightness as a witness to yourself, it is constancy itself.	138 Mandasti in iustitia testimonia tua et in veritate nimis.
139 My zeal is burning me up because my oppressors forget your word.	139 Consumpsit me zelus meus, quia obliti sunt verba tua inimici mei.
140 Your promise is wel tested, your servant holds it dear.	140 Ignitum eloquium tuum vehementer, et servus tuus dilexit illud.
141 Puny and despised as I am, I do not forget your precepts.	141 Adulescentulus sum ego et contemptus; mandata tua non sum oblitus.
142 Your saving justice is for ever just, and your Law is trustworthy.	142 Iustitia tua iustitia in aeternum, et lex tua veritas.
143 Though anguish and distress grip me your commandments are my delight.	143 Tribulatio et angustia invenerunt me; praecepta tua delectatio mea est.
144 Your instructions are upright for ever, give me understanding and I shal live.	144 Iustitia testimonia tua in aeternum; intellectum da mihi, et vivam.
145 I cal with al my heart; answer me, Yahweh, and I wil observe your judgements.	145 COPH. Clamavi in toto corde, exaudi me, Domine; iustificationes tuas servabo.
146 I cal to you; save me, and I wil keep your instructions.	146 Clamavi ad te, salvum me fac, ut custodiam testimonia tua.
147 I am awake before dawn to cry for help, I put my hope in your word.	147 Praeveni diluculo et clamavi, in verba tua supersperavi.
148 My eyes are awake before each watch of the night, to ponder your promise.	148 Praevenerunt oculi mei vigilias, ut meditarer eloquia tua.
149 In your faithful love, Yahweh, listen to my voice, let your judgements give me life.	149 Vocem meam audi secundum misericordiam tuam, Domine, secundum iudicium tuum vivifica me.
150 My pursuers are coming closer to their wicked designs, and further from your Law.	150 Appropinquaverunt persequentes me in malitia, a lege autem tua longe facti sunt.
151 You are close to me, Yahweh, and all your commandments are true.	151 Prope es tu, Domine, et omnia praecepta tua veritas.
152 Long have I known that your instructions were laid down to last for ever.	152 Ab initio cognovi de testimoniis tuis, quia in aeternum fundasti ea.
153 Look at my suffering and rescue me, for I do not forget your Law.	153 RES. Vide humiliationem meam et eripe me, quia legem tuam non sum oblitus.
154 Plead my cause and defend me; as you promised, give me life.	154 Iudica causam meam et redime me; propter eloquium tuum vivifica me.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek your will.	155 Longe a peccatoribus salus, quia iustificationes tuas non exquisierunt.
156 Your kindnesses to me are countless, Yahweh; true to your judgements, give me life.	156 Misericordiae tuae multae, Domine; secundum iudicia tua vivifica me.
157 Though my enemies and oppressors are countless, I do not turn aside from your instructions.	157 Multi, qui persequuntur me et tribulant me; a testimoniis tuis non declinavi.
158 The sight of these renegades appals me; they do not observe your promise.	158 Vidi praevaricantes, et taeduit me, quia eloquia tua non custodierunt.
159 See how I love your precepts; true to your faithful love, give me life.	159 Vide quoniam mandata tua dilexi, Domine; secundum misericordiam tuam vivifica me.
160 Faithfulness is the essence of your word, your upright judgements hold good for ever.	160 Principium verborum tuorum veritas, in aeternum omnia iudicia iustitiae tuae.
161 Though princes hound me unprovoked, what fil s me with awe is your word.	161 SIN. Principes persecuti sunt me gratis, et a verbis tuis formidavit cor meum.
162 I rejoice in your promise like one who finds a vast treasure.	162 Laetabor ego super eloquia tua, sicut qui invenit spolia multa.
163 Falsehood I hate and detest, my love is for your Law.	163 Mendacium odio habui et abominatus sum; legem autem tuam dilexi.
164 Seven times a day I praise you for your upright judgements.	164 Septies in die laudem dixi tibi super iudicia iustitiae tuae.
165 Great peace for those who love your Law; no stumbling-blocks for them!	165 Pax multa diligentibus legem tuam, et non est illis scandalum.
166 I am waiting for your salvation, Yahweh, I fulfil your commandments.	166 Exspectabam salutare tuum, Domine, et praecepta tua feci.
167 I observe your instructions, I love them dearly.	167 Custodivit anima mea testimonia tua, et dilexi ea vehementer.
168 I observe your precepts, your judgements, for al my ways are before you.	168 Servavi mandata tua et testimonia tua, quia omnes viae meae in conspectu tuo.
169 May my cry approach your presence, Yahweh; by your word give me understanding.	169 TAU. Appropinquet deprecatio mea in conspectu tuo, Domine; iuxta verbum tuum da mihi intellectum.
170 May my prayer come into your presence, rescue me as you have promised.	170 Intret postulatio mea in conspectu tuo; secundum eloquium tuum libera me.
171 May my lips proclaim your praise, for you teach me your will.	171 Eructabunt labia mea hymnum, cum docueris me iustificationes tuas.
