Psalms 116

NEW JERUSALEM	STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH
1 Al eluia! I am fil ed with love when Yahweh listens to the sound of my prayer,	1 אָהַבְתִּי כִּי־יִשְׁמַע ׀ יְהוָה אֶת־קֹולִי תַּחֲנוּנָי
2 when he bends down to hear me, as I cal .	2 כִּי־הִטָּה אָזְנֹו לִי וּבְיָמַי אֶקְרָא
3 The bonds of death were al round me, the snares of Sheol held me fast; distress and anguish heldme in their grip,	3 אֲפָפוּנִי ׀ חֶבְלֵי־מָוֶת וּמְצָרֵי שְׁאֹול מְצָאוּנִי צָרָה וְיָגֹון אֶמְצָא
4 I cal ed on the name of Yahweh. Deliver me, Yahweh, I beg you.	4 וּבְשֵׁם־יְהוָה אֶקְרָא אָנָּה יְהוָה מַלְּטָה נַפְשִׁי
5 Yahweh is merciful and upright, our God is tenderness.	5 חַנּוּן יְהֹוָה וְצַדִּיק וֵאלֹהֵינוּ מְרַחֵם
6 Yahweh looks after the simple, when I was brought low he gave me strength.	6 שֹׁמֵר פְּתָאיִם יְהֹוָה דַּלֹּותִי וְלִי יְהֹושִׁיעַ
7 My heart, be at peace once again, for Yahweh has treated you generously.	7 שׁוּבִי נַפְשִׁי לִמְנוּחָיְכִי כִּי־יְהוָה גָּמַל עָלָיְכִי
8 He has rescued me from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.	8 כִּי חִלַּצְתָּ נַפְשִׁי מִמָּוֶת אֶת־עֵינִי מִן־דִּמְעָה אֶת־רַגְלִי מִדֶּחִי
9 I shal pass my life in the presence of Yahweh, in the land of the living.	9 אֶתְהַלֵּךְ לִפְנֵי יְהוָה בְּאַרְצֹות הַחַיִּים
10 My trust does not fail even when I say, 'I am completely wretched.'	10 הֶאֱמַנְתִּי כִּי אֲדַבֵּר אֲנִי עָנִיתִי מְאֹד
11 In my terror I said, 'No human being can be relied on.'	11 אֲנִי אָמַרְתִּי בְחָפְזִי כָּל־הָאָדָם כֹּזֵב
12 What return can I make to Yahweh for his generosity to me?	12 מָה־אָשִׁיב לַיהוָה כָּל־תַּגְמוּלֹוהִי עָלָי
13 I shal take up the cup of salvation and cal on the name of Yahweh.	13 כֹּוס־יְשׁוּעֹות אֶשָּׂא וּבְשֵׁם יְהוָה אֶקְרָא
14 I shal fulfil my vows to Yahweh, witnessed by al his people.	14 נְדָרַי לַיהוָה אֲשַׁלֵּם נֶגְדָה־נָּא לְכָל־עַמֹּו
15 Costly in Yahweh's sight is the death of his faithful.	15 יָקָר בְּעֵינֵי יְהוָה הַמָּוְתָה לַחֲסִידָיו
16 I beg you, Yahweh! I am your servant, I am your servant and my mother was your servant; you haveundone my fetters.	16 אָנָּה יְהוָה כִּי־אֲנִי עַבְדֶּךָ אֲ‍נִי־עַבְדְּךָ בֶּן־אֲמָתֶךָ פִּתַּחְתָּ לְמֹוסֵרָי
17 I shal offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and cal on the name of Yahweh.	17 לְךָ־אֶזְבַּח זֶבַח תֹּודָה וּבְשֵׁם יְהוָה אֶקְרָא
18 I shal fulfil my vows to Yahweh, witnessed by al his people,	18 נְדָרַי לַיהוָה אֲשַׁלֵּם נֶגְדָה־נָּא לְכָל־עַמֹּו
19 in the courts of the house of Yahweh, in your very heart, Jerusalem.	19 בְּחַצְרֹות ׀ בֵּית יְהוָה בְּתֹוכֵכִי יְרוּשָׁלִָם הַלְלוּ־יָהּ
