Psalms 116

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Al eluia! I am fil ed with love when Yahweh listens to the sound of my prayer,	1 Amo al Señor, porque él escucha el clamor de mi súplica,
2 when he bends down to hear me, as I cal .	2 porque inclina su oído hacia mí, cuando yo lo invoco.
3 The bonds of death were al round me, the snares of Sheol held me fast; distress and anguish heldme in their grip,	3 Los lazos de la muerte me envolvieron, me alcanzaron las redes del Abismo, caí en la angustia y la tristeza;
4 I cal ed on the name of Yahweh. Deliver me, Yahweh, I beg you.	4 entonces invoqué al Señor: «¡Por favor, sálvame la vida!».
5 Yahweh is merciful and upright, our God is tenderness.	5 El Señor es justo y bondadoso, nuestro Dios es compasivo;
6 Yahweh looks after the simple, when I was brought low he gave me strength.	6 el Señor protege a los sencillos: yo estaba en la miseria y me salvó.
7 My heart, be at peace once again, for Yahweh has treated you generously.	7 Alma mía, recobra la calma, porque el Señor ha sido bueno contigo.
8 He has rescued me from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.	8 El libró mi vida de la muerte, mis ojos de las lágrimas y mis pies de la caída.
9 I shal pass my life in the presence of Yahweh, in the land of the living.	9 Yo caminaré en la presencia del Señor, en la tierra de los vivientes.
10 My trust does not fail even when I say, 'I am completely wretched.'	10 Tenía confianza, incluso cuando dije: «¡Qué grande es mi desgracia!».
11 In my terror I said, 'No human being can be relied on.'	11 Yo, que en mi turbación llegué a decir: «¡Los hombres son todos mentirosos!».
12 What return can I make to Yahweh for his generosity to me?	12 ¿Con qué pagaré al Señor todo el bien que me hizo?
13 I shal take up the cup of salvation and cal on the name of Yahweh.	13 Alzaré la copa de la salvación e invocaré el nombre del Señor.
14 I shal fulfil my vows to Yahweh, witnessed by al his people.	14 Cumpliré mis votos al Señor, en presencia de todo su pueblo.
15 Costly in Yahweh's sight is the death of his faithful.	15 ¡Qué penosa es para el Señor la muerte de sus amigos!
16 I beg you, Yahweh! I am your servant, I am your servant and my mother was your servant; you haveundone my fetters.	16 Yo, Señor, soy tu servidor, tu servidor, lo mismo que mi madre: por eso rompiste mis cadenas.
17 I shal offer you a sacrifice of thanksgiving and cal on the name of Yahweh.	17 Te ofreceré un sacrificio de alabanza, e invocaré el nombre del Señor.
18 I shal fulfil my vows to Yahweh, witnessed by al his people,	18 Cumpliré mis votos al Señor, en presencia de todo su pueblo,
19 in the courts of the house of Yahweh, in your very heart, Jerusalem.	19 en los atrios de la Casa del Señor, en medio de ti, Jerusalén. ¡Aleluya!
