2 Chronicles 8

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 At the end of the twenty years which it took Solomon to build the Temple of Yahweh and his ownpalace,	1 وبعد نهاية عشرين سنة بعد ان بنى سليمان بيت الرب وبيته
2 and to rebuild the towns which Huram had given him and settle them with Israelites,	2 بنى سليمان المدن التي اعطاها حورام لسليمان واسكن فيها بني اسرائيل.
3 Solomon mounted an expedition against Hamath-Zobah and captured it.	3 وذهب سليمان الى حماة صوبة وقوي عليها.
4 He also fortified Tadmor in the desert and all the storage towns which he had built in Hamath.	4 وبنى تدمر في البرية وجميع مدن المخازن التي بناها في حماة.
5 He also built Upper Beth-Horon and Lower Beth-Horon as fortified towns with wal s and gates and bars,	5 وبنى بيت حورون العليا وبيت حورون السفلى مدنا حصينة باسوار وابواب وعوارض.
6 also Baalath and al Solomon's storage towns, al the towns for his chariots and horses, and everythingwhich Solomon was pleased to build in Jerusalem, in the Lebanon and throughout the territory under his rule.	6 وبعلة وكل مدن المخازن التي كانت لسليمان وجميع مدن المركبات ومدن الفرسان وكل مرغوب سليمان الذي رغب ان يبنيه في اورشليم وفي لبنان وفي كل ارض سلطانه.
7 Al those who survived of the Hittite, Amorite, Perizzite, Hivite and Jebusite peoples, who did not belongto Israel-	7 اما جميع الشعب الباقي من الحثّيين والاموريين والفرزّيين والحويين واليبوسيين الذين ليسوا من اسرائيل
8 those of their descendants stil remaining in the country, whom the Israelites had not exterminated,these Solomon levied for forced labour, as is stil the case today.	8 من بنيهم الذين بقوا بعدهم في الارض الذين لم يفنهم بنو اسرائيل فجعل سليمان عليهم سخرة الى هذا اليوم.
9 Solomon did not, however, impose forced labour on the Israelites for his work -- for they were soldiers,his senior officers and his chariot and cavalry commanders.	9 واما بنو اسرائيل فلم يجعل سليمان منهم عبيدا لشغله لانهم رجال القتال ورؤساء قوّاده ورؤساء مركباته وفرسانه.
10 There were two hundred and fifty of King Solomon's officials in charge of the foremen who supervisedthe people.	10 وهؤلاء رؤساء الموكلين الذين للملك سليمان مئتان وخمسون المتسلطون على الشعب.
11 Solomon moved Pharaoh's daughter up from the City of David to the palace which he had built for her.'I must not be responsible', he said, 'for a woman living in the palace of David king of Israel, for these buildings towhich the ark of Yahweh has come are sacred.'	11 واما بنت فرعون فاصعدها سليمان من مدينة داود الى البيت الذي بناه لها لانه قال لا تسكن امرأة لي في بيت داود ملك اسرائيل لان الاماكن التي دخل اليها تابوت الرب انما هي مقدسة
12 Thereafter, Solomon made burnt offerings to Yahweh on the altar of Yahweh which he had built infront of the portico,	12 حينئذ اصعد سليمان محرقات للرب على مذبح الرب الذي بناه قدام الرواق.
13 in accordance with the regular prescriptions for burnt sacrifice as commanded by Moses, on theSabbaths, New Moons and the three annual feasts; the feast of Unleavened Bread, the feast of Weeks and thefeast of Shelters.	13 أمر كل يوم بيومه من المحرقات حسب وصية موسى في السبوت والاهلّة والمواسم ثلاث مرات في السنة في عيد الفطير وعيد الاسابيع وعيد المظال.
14 Fol owing the prescriptions of his father David, he assigned the orders of priests to their duties and theLevites to their tasks of praise and of assisting the priests in accordance with day-to-day requirements; as alsothe gatekeepers in their various orders to each gate -- for such was the command of David, man of God.	14 واوقف حسب قضاء داود ابيه فرق الكهنة على خدمتهم واللاويين على حراساتهم للتسبيح والخدمة امام الكهنة عمل كل يوم بيومه والبوابين حسب فرقهم على كل باب. لانه هكذا هي وصية داود رجل الله.
15 Nor was there deviation on any point from the king's command as regards the priests, the Levites oreven the storehouses.	15 ولم يحيدوا عن وصية الملك على الكهنة واللاويين في كل أمر وفي الخزائن.
16 Thus, al the work was over which Solomon had put in hand when the Temple of Yahweh was foundeduntil it was finished. The Temple of Yahweh was complete in every detail.	16 فتهيّأ كل عمل سليمان الى يوم تأسيس بيت الرب والى نهايته. فكمل بيت الرب
17 Solomon then mounted an expedition to Ezion-Geber and Elath on the sea-coast of Edom.	17 حينئذ ذهب سليمان الى عصيون جابر والى ايلة على شاطئ البحر في ارض ادوم.
18 Huram sent him ships through his agents, as wel as experienced sailors, who went to Ophir with menin Solomon's service, where they took on four hundred and fifty talents of gold, which they brought back to KingSolomon.	18 وارسل له حورام بيد عبيده سفنا وعبيدا يعرفون البحر فأتوا مع عبيد سليمان الى اوفير واخذوا من هناك اربع مئة وخمسين وزنة ذهب واتوا بها الى الملك سليمان
