1 At the end of the twenty years which it took Solomon to build the Temple of Yahweh and his ownpalace,	1 Or passati venti anni dacché Salomone ebbe edificata la casa del Signore, e la propria casa,
2 and to rebuild the towns which Huram had given him and settle them with Israelites,	2 Egli ristorò le città dategli da Hiram, e le fece abitare da' figliuoli d'Israele.
3 Solomon mounted an expedition against Hamath-Zobah and captured it.	3 E andò anche ad Emath di Suba, e se ne fece signore.
4 He also fortified Tadmor in the desert and all the storage towns which he had built in Hamath.	4 E fabbricò nel deserto Palmira, e altre città molto ben fortificate edificò in Emath.
5 He also built Upper Beth-Horon and Lower Beth-Horon as fortified towns with wal s and gates and bars,	5 Ed edificò parimente Bethoron superiore, e Bethoron inferiore, città murate, che aveano porte, e serrature.
6 also Baalath and al Solomon's storage towns, al the towns for his chariots and horses, and everythingwhich Solomon was pleased to build in Jerusalem, in the Lebanon and throughout the territory under his rule.	6 E il simile fece a Balaath, e a tutte le migliori città, che ebbe Salomone, e a tutte le città de' cocchi, e a quelle dei soldati a cavallo: tutto quello che avea bramato, e ideato Salomone, fu fatto da lui in Gerusalemme, e sul Libano, e in ogni regione del suo dominio.
7 Al those who survived of the Hittite, Amorite, Perizzite, Hivite and Jebusite peoples, who did not belongto Israel-	7 E tutta la gente, che era rimasa degli Hethei, e degli Amorrei, e de' Pherezei, e degli Hevei, e de' Jebusei, i quali non erano della stirpe d'Israele:
8 those of their descendants stil remaining in the country, whom the Israelites had not exterminated,these Solomon levied for forced labour, as is stil the case today.	8 E i loro figliuoli, e discendenti da quelli, a' quali gl'Israeliti avean salvata la vita, Salomone li fece soggetti al tributo, come sono anche in oggi.
9 Solomon did not, however, impose forced labour on the Israelites for his work -- for they were soldiers,his senior officers and his chariot and cavalry commanders.	9 Ma riguardo a' figliuoli d'Israele non ne prese egli per farli servire ai lavori del re: ma eglino erano arrotati nella milizia, e primarj condottieri, e capi dei cocchi, e soldati a cavallo.
10 There were two hundred and fifty of King Solomon's officials in charge of the foremen who supervisedthe people.	10 Or tutti i capi dell'esercito del re Salomone furono dugento cinquanta, e questi addestravano il popolo.
11 Solomon moved Pharaoh's daughter up from the City of David to the palace which he had built for her.'I must not be responsible', he said, 'for a woman living in the palace of David king of Israel, for these buildings towhich the ark of Yahweh has come are sacred.'	11 Ed egli fece passare la figliuola di Faraone dalla citta di David alla casa, che fabbricò per essa. Conciossiachè il re disse: Non abiterà la mia moglie nella casa di David re d'Israele: per chè questa fu santificata, quando entrovvi dentro l'arca del Signore.
12 Thereafter, Solomon made burnt offerings to Yahweh on the altar of Yahweh which he had built infront of the portico,	12 Allora Salomone offerse olocausti al Signore sopra l'altare del Signore eretto da lui dinanzi al vestibolo;
13 in accordance with the regular prescriptions for burnt sacrifice as commanded by Moses, on theSabbaths, New Moons and the three annual feasts; the feast of Unleavened Bread, the feast of Weeks and thefeast of Shelters.	13 Affinchè ogni giorno vi si offerissero sagrifizj sopra di esso secondo il comando di Mosè, i giorni di sabato, e delle calende e nelle solennità di tre volte l'anno, viene a dire, nella solennità degli azzimi, e nella solennità delle settimane, e nella solennità de' tabernacoli.
14 Fol owing the prescriptions of his father David, he assigned the orders of priests to their duties and theLevites to their tasks of praise and of assisting the priests in accordance with day-to-day requirements; as alsothe gatekeepers in their various orders to each gate -- for such was the command of David, man of God.	14 E stabilì le funzioni de' sacerdoti nel lor ministero secondo la distribuzione fatta da Davidde suo padre: e l'ordine, che dovean tenere i Leviti nel cantare, e nell'adempire i loro ufficj dinanzi ai sacerdoti secondo il rito di ciascun giorno: e lo spartimento de' portinai a questa, e a quella porta: perchè così aveva ordinato Davidde uomo di Dio.
15 Nor was there deviation on any point from the king's command as regards the priests, the Levites oreven the storehouses.	15 E i sacerdoti, e i Leviti non tra sgredirono alcuno di tutti quanti gli ordini dati dal re, anche riguardo alla custodia dei tesori.
16 Thus, al the work was over which Solomon had put in hand when the Temple of Yahweh was foundeduntil it was finished. The Temple of Yahweh was complete in every detail.	16 Salomone ebbe in pronto tutto quel, che bisognava per le spese dal dì, in cui gettò i fondamenti della casa del Signore sino al dì, in cui la condusse alla sua perfezione.
17 Solomon then mounted an expedition to Ezion-Geber and Elath on the sea-coast of Edom.	17 Allora Salomone andò ad Asiongaber, e ad Ahilath sul lido del mar rosso, che è nella terra di Edom.
18 Huram sent him ships through his agents, as wel as experienced sailors, who went to Ophir with menin Solomon's service, where they took on four hundred and fifty talents of gold, which they brought back to KingSolomon.	18 E Hiram mandò a lui per mezzo de' suoi servi delle navi, e de' piloti pratichi del mare, i quali andarono colle genti di Salomone ad Ophir: e ne portarono quattrocento cinquanta talenti d'oro al re Salomone.
