NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 At the end of the twenty years which it took Solomon to build the Temple of Yahweh and his ownpalace,	1 Trascorsi vent'anni durante i quali aveva edificato il tempio del Signore ed il proprio palazzo,
2 and to rebuild the towns which Huram had given him and settle them with Israelites,	2 Salomone ricostruì le città che Curam gli aveva dato e vi stabilì gli Israeliti.
3 Solomon mounted an expedition against Hamath-Zobah and captured it.	3 Salomone marciò contro Camat di Zoba e la conquistò.
4 He also fortified Tadmor in the desert and all the storage towns which he had built in Hamath.	4 Ricostruì Palmira nel deserto e tutte le città di rifornimento che aveva edificato nella regione di Camat.
5 He also built Upper Beth-Horon and Lower Beth-Horon as fortified towns with wal s and gates and bars,	5 Riedificò Bet-Oròn superiore e Bet-Oròn inferiore, città fortificate con mura, porte e catenacci,
6 also Baalath and al Solomon's storage towns, al the towns for his chariots and horses, and everythingwhich Solomon was pleased to build in Jerusalem, in the Lebanon and throughout the territory under his rule.	6 inoltre Baalat e tutte le città di rifornimento che erano di sua proprietà, poi tutte le città dei carri e della cavalleria, insomma tutto quanto gli sembrò bene di costruire a Gerusalemme, nel Libano e in tutto il territorio sottomesso al suo dominio.
7 Al those who survived of the Hittite, Amorite, Perizzite, Hivite and Jebusite peoples, who did not belongto Israel-	7 Tutti quelli che rimanevano degli Hittiti, degli Amorrei, dei Perizziti, degli Evei e dei Gebusei, che non erano Israeliti,
8 those of their descendants stil remaining in the country, whom the Israelites had not exterminated,these Solomon levied for forced labour, as is stil the case today.	8 cioè i loro discendenti che erano rimasti dopo di loro nel paese, non essendo stati sterminati dagl'Israeliti, Salomone li sottopose ai lavori forzati come avviene ancor oggi.
9 Solomon did not, however, impose forced labour on the Israelites for his work -- for they were soldiers,his senior officers and his chariot and cavalry commanders.	9 Ma tra i figli d'Israele Salomone non impiegò nessuno come schiavo per il lavoro, perché questi erano guerrieri, capi dei suoi scudieri, capi dei suoi carri e della sua cavalleria.
10 There were two hundred and fifty of King Solomon's officials in charge of the foremen who supervisedthe people.	10 Questi capi di prefetti del re Salomone erano duecentocinquanta; essi sorvegliavano il popolo.
11 Solomon moved Pharaoh's daughter up from the City of David to the palace which he had built for her.'I must not be responsible', he said, 'for a woman living in the palace of David king of Israel, for these buildings towhich the ark of Yahweh has come are sacred.'	11 Salomone trasferì la figlia del faraone dalla Città di Davide alla casa che aveva costruito per lei, perché pensava: "Non deve abitare una mia donna nella casa di Davide, re d'Israele, poiché è sacro ogni luogo in cui è venuta a posarsi l'arca del Signore".
12 Thereafter, Solomon made burnt offerings to Yahweh on the altar of Yahweh which he had built infront of the portico,	12 Allora Salomone offrì olocausti al Signore sull'altare del Signore che aveva edificato di fronte al vestibolo.
13 in accordance with the regular prescriptions for burnt sacrifice as commanded by Moses, on theSabbaths, New Moons and the three annual feasts; the feast of Unleavened Bread, the feast of Weeks and thefeast of Shelters.	13 Offrì olocausti secondo l'ordinamento quotidiano, seguendo il comando di Mosè, nei sabati, nei noviluni e nelle tre feste annuali, cioè nella festa degli Azzimi, nella festa delle Settimane e nella festa delle Capanne.
14 Fol owing the prescriptions of his father David, he assigned the orders of priests to their duties and theLevites to their tasks of praise and of assisting the priests in accordance with day-to-day requirements; as alsothe gatekeepers in their various orders to each gate -- for such was the command of David, man of God.	14 Dispose poi secondo l'ordinamento di Davide, suo padre, le classi dei sacerdoti per il loro servizio e i leviti nelle loro funzioni di lodare Dio e officiare in presenza dei sacerdoti giorno per giorno; dispose ugualmente i portieri secondo le loro classi a ogni singola porta, perché così aveva comandato Davide, uomo di Dio.
15 Nor was there deviation on any point from the king's command as regards the priests, the Levites oreven the storehouses.	15 Non ci si allontanò in nulla dalle disposizioni del re riguardo ai sacerdoti e ai leviti e nemmeno in ciò che concerne i tesori.
16 Thus, al the work was over which Solomon had put in hand when the Temple of Yahweh was foundeduntil it was finished. The Temple of Yahweh was complete in every detail.	16 Così fu condotta a termine tutta l'opera di Salomone, dal giorno in cui fu fondato il tempio del Signore fino al suo definitivo compimento.
17 Solomon then mounted an expedition to Ezion-Geber and Elath on the sea-coast of Edom.	17 Allora Salomone si recò ad Ezion-Gheber e ad Elat sulla riva del mare, nel paese di Edom.
18 Huram sent him ships through his agents, as wel as experienced sailors, who went to Ophir with menin Solomon's service, where they took on four hundred and fifty talents of gold, which they brought back to KingSolomon.	18 Curam per mezzo dei suoi marinai gli inviò navi e uomini esperti del mare. Questi, insieme con i marinai di Salomone, andarono a Ofir e vi presero quattrocentocinquanta talenti d'oro e li portarono al re Salomone.
