NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 At the end of the twenty years which it took Solomon to build the Temple of Yahweh and his ownpalace,	1 ORA in capo de’ vent’anni, ne’ quali Salomone avea edificata la Casa del Signore e la sua,
2 and to rebuild the towns which Huram had given him and settle them with Israelites,	2 Salomone riedificò le città che Huram gli avea date, e vi fece abitare de’ figliuoli d’Israele.
3 Solomon mounted an expedition against Hamath-Zobah and captured it.	3 Poi Salomone andò in Hamat di Soba, e l’occupò.
4 He also fortified Tadmor in the desert and all the storage towns which he had built in Hamath.	4 Ed edificò Tadmor nel deserto, insieme con tutte le città da magazzini, le quali egli edificò in Hamat.
5 He also built Upper Beth-Horon and Lower Beth-Horon as fortified towns with wal s and gates and bars,	5 Riedificò anche Bet-horon disopra, e Bet-horon disotto, città forti di mura, di porte, e di sbarre.
6 also Baalath and al Solomon's storage towns, al the towns for his chariots and horses, and everythingwhich Solomon was pleased to build in Jerusalem, in the Lebanon and throughout the territory under his rule.	6 Riedificò ancora Baalat, e tutte le città de’ suoi magazzini, e tutte le città dove erano i carri, e quelle dove stavano le genti a cavallo; ed in somma, tutto ciò ch’egli ebbe desiderio di edificare in Gerusalemme, e nel Libano, ed in tutto il paese della sua signoria.
7 Al those who survived of the Hittite, Amorite, Perizzite, Hivite and Jebusite peoples, who did not belongto Israel-	7 E Salomone fece tributario tutto il popolo ch’era rimasto degli Hittei, e degli Amorrei, e de’ Ferizzei, e degli Hivvei, e de’ Gebusei, i quali non erano d’Israele;
8 those of their descendants stil remaining in the country, whom the Israelites had not exterminated,these Solomon levied for forced labour, as is stil the case today.	8 cioè, de’ figliuoli di coloro che erano rimasti dopo loro nel paese, i quali i figliuoli d’Israele non aveano distrutti; e son rimasti tributari infino a questo giorno.
9 Solomon did not, however, impose forced labour on the Israelites for his work -- for they were soldiers,his senior officers and his chariot and cavalry commanders.	9 Ma d’infra i figliuoli d’Israele, i quali Salomone non fece servi, per lavorare a’ suoi lavori perciocchè essi erano uomini di guerra, e colonnelli de’ suoi capitani, e capi de’ suoi carri, e della sua cavalleria;
10 There were two hundred and fifty of King Solomon's officials in charge of the foremen who supervisedthe people.	10 costoro furono capi de’ commissari del re Salomone, cioè: dugencinquanta, i quali aveano il reggimento di quella gente.
11 Solomon moved Pharaoh's daughter up from the City of David to the palace which he had built for her.'I must not be responsible', he said, 'for a woman living in the palace of David king of Israel, for these buildings towhich the ark of Yahweh has come are sacred.'	11 Or Salomone fece salire la figliuola di Faraone dalla città di Davide, nella casa ch’egli le avea edificata; perciocchè disse: La mia moglie non abiterà nella casa di Davide, re d’Israele; perciocchè i luoghi, ne’ quali l’Arca del Signore è entrata, son santi
12 Thereafter, Solomon made burnt offerings to Yahweh on the altar of Yahweh which he had built infront of the portico,	12 Allora Salomone offerse olocausti al Signore, sopra l’Altar del Signore, il quale egli avea edificato davanti al portico.
13 in accordance with the regular prescriptions for burnt sacrifice as commanded by Moses, on theSabbaths, New Moons and the three annual feasts; the feast of Unleavened Bread, the feast of Weeks and thefeast of Shelters.	13 Egli offeriva eziandio di giorno in giorno ciò che si conveniva offerire secondo il comandamento di Mosè, nei sabati, e nelle calendi, e nelle feste solenni, tre volte l’anno; nella festa degli azzimi, e nella festa delle settimane, e nella festa de’ tabernacoli.
14 Fol owing the prescriptions of his father David, he assigned the orders of priests to their duties and theLevites to their tasks of praise and of assisting the priests in accordance with day-to-day requirements; as alsothe gatekeepers in their various orders to each gate -- for such was the command of David, man of God.	14 E costituì, secondo l’ordine di Davide, suo padre, i sacerdoti nel lor ministerio, secondo i loro spartimenti; ed i Leviti ne’ loro uffici, per lodare il Signore, e per ministrar davanti a’ sacerdoti, secondo che si conveniva fare per ciascun giorno; e i portinai, secondo i loro spartimenti per ciascuna porta; perciocchè tale era stato il comandamento di Davide, uomo di Dio.
15 Nor was there deviation on any point from the king's command as regards the priests, the Levites oreven the storehouses.	15 Ei non si deviò punto dal comandamento del re, intorno a’ sacerdoti, ed a’ Leviti, nè intorno ad alcun’altra cosa, nè intorno a’ tesori.
16 Thus, al the work was over which Solomon had put in hand when the Temple of Yahweh was foundeduntil it was finished. The Temple of Yahweh was complete in every detail.	16 Ora l’apparecchio di tutta l’opera di Salomone era già fatto, dal giorno che la Casa del Signore fu fondata, finchè fu compiuta. E quando la Casa del Signore fu finita,
17 Solomon then mounted an expedition to Ezion-Geber and Elath on the sea-coast of Edom.	17 allora Salomone andò in Esion-gheber, ed in Elot, in sul lito del mare, nel paese di Edom.
18 Huram sent him ships through his agents, as wel as experienced sailors, who went to Ophir with menin Solomon's service, where they took on four hundred and fifty talents of gold, which they brought back to KingSolomon.	18 E Huram gli mandò, per i suoi servitori, materie da far navi, e marinari intendenti; i quali andarono, co’ servitori di Salomone, in Ofir, e tolsero di là trecencinquanta talenti d’oro, e li condussero al re Salomone
