1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for sixteen years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah daughter of Zadok.	1 Jotam war fünfundzwanzig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte sechzehn Jahre in Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Jeruscha und war eine Tochter Zadoks.
2 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Uzziah had done. Only he did not enterYahweh's sanctuary. But the people continued to do wrong.	2 Er tat, was dem Herrn gefiel, genau wie sein Vater Usija, aber er drang nicht in den Tempel des Herrn ein. Das Volk jedoch handelte immer noch verkehrt.

5 He also went to war against the king of the Ammonites and defeated them; and the Ammonites had togive him a hundred talents of silver, ten thousand kor of wheat and ten thousand of barley that year. And theAmmonites paid him the same amount, the second and third years afterwards.	5 führte Krieg mit dem König der Ammoniter und besiegte ihn. 6 Jotham became powerful because he kept an unswerving course before Yahweh his God.	6 So wurde Jotam mächtig; denn er achtete in seinem Verhalten auf den Herrn, seinen Gott.

9 Then Jotham fel asleep with his ancestors, and was buried in the City of David; his son Ahazsucceeded him.	9 Jotam entschlief zu seinen Vätern und man begrub ihn in der Davidstadt. Sein Sohn Ahas wurde König an seiner Stelle.
