NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 Jotham was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for sixteen years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Jerushah daughter of Zadok.	1 Yotam avait 25 ans lorsqu’il monta sur le trône, il régna 16 ans à Jérusalem; sa mère était Yéroucha fille de Sadoq.
2 He did what Yahweh regards as right, just as his father Uzziah had done. Only he did not enterYahweh's sanctuary. But the people continued to do wrong.	2 Il fit ce qui est juste au regard de Yahvé tout comme l’avait fait son père Ozias, et lui n’entra pas dans la Maison de Yahvé; le peuple cependant continuait de faire le mal.
3 It was he who built the Upper Gate of the Temple of Yahweh and carried out considerable work on thewal of the Ophel.	3 Il construisit la Porte Haute de la Maison de Yahvé et fit de nombreuses réparations au mur de l’Ophel.
4 He also built towns in the highlands of Judah and built forts and towers in the wooded areas.	4 Il construisit des villes dans la montagne de Juda, des forteresses et des tours dans les régions boisées.
5 He also went to war against the king of the Ammonites and defeated them; and the Ammonites had togive him a hundred talents of silver, ten thousand kor of wheat and ten thousand of barley that year. And theAmmonites paid him the same amount, the second and third years afterwards.	5 Il fit la guerre au roi des Ammonites et l’emporta sur lui. Les Ammonites lui donnèrent cette année-là 100 talents d’argent, 10 000 mesures de blé et 10 000 d’orge; les Ammonites lui en remirent encore autant la seconde et la troisième année.
6 Jotham became powerful because he kept an unswerving course before Yahweh his God.	6 Yotam devint puissant car il prenait ses décisions sous le regard de Yahvé son Dieu.
7 The rest of the history of Jotham, al his wars and his policy, are recorded in the Book of the Kings ofIsrael and Judah.	7 Les reste des actes de Yotam, toutes ses guerres et ses travaux, cela est écrit dans le livre des rois d’Israël et de Juda.

9 Then Jotham fel asleep with his ancestors, and was buried in the City of David; his son Ahazsucceeded him.	9 Yotam se coucha avec ses pères et on l’enterra dans la Cité de David. Son fils Akaz régna à sa place.
