1 Chronicles 22

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 David then said, 'This is to be the house of Yahweh God and this the altar of burnt offering for Israel.'	1 Puis David dit: "C'est ici la maison de Yahvé Dieu et ce sera l'autel pour les holocaustesd'Israël."
2 David then gave orders for al foreigners in Israel to be rounded up, and appointed quarrymen to cutdressed stone for building the house of God.	2 David ordonna de rassembler les étrangers qui se trouvaient dans le pays d'Israël, puis ilpréposa des carriers à la taille des pierres pour la construction de la maison de Dieu.
3 David also prepared great quantities of iron to make nails for the leaves of the doors and for theclamps, and more bronze than could be weighed,	3 David d'autre part entreposa beaucoup de fer pour les clous des battants de porte et pour lescrampons, ainsi que du bronze en quantité impossible à peser,
4 as wel as innumerable cedar-wood logs, as the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought cedar logs toDavid in great quantities.	4 et des troncs de cèdre en nombre incalculable, car Sidoniens et Tyriens avaient apporté àDavid des troncs de cèdre en abondance.
5 David then said, 'My son Solomon is young and immature, and the house to be built for Yahweh mustbe superlatively fine, the most famous and splendid in any country. I shal now make the preparations for it.' Andso, before he died, David made ample preparations.	5 Puis David dit: "Mon fils Salomon est jeune et faible; et cette maison qu'il doit bâtir pourYahvé doit être magnifique, elle doit avoir renom et gloire dans tous les pays. J'en ferai pour lui les préparatifs."Aussi David, avant de mourir, fit-il de grands préparatifs;
6 He then summoned his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, God of Israel.	6 puis il appela son fils Salomon et lui ordonna de bâtir une maison pour Yahvé, le Dieud'Israël.
7 'My son,' David said to Solomon, 'my heart was set on building a house for the name of Yahweh myGod.	7 David dit à Salomon: "Mon fils, j'ai désiré bâtir une maison pour le nom de Yahvé mon Dieu.
8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, "You have shed much blood and fought great wars; it is not foryou to build a house for my name, since you have shed much blood in my sight on earth.	8 Mais la parole de Yahvé me fut adressée: Tu as versé beaucoup de sang et livré de grandesbatailles, tu ne bâtiras pas de maison à mon nom car en ma présence tu as répandu beaucoup de sang à terre.
9 Look, a son will be born to you. He will be a man of peace, and I shal give him peace from hisenemies on all sides; for Solomon is to be his name, and in his days I shal give Israel peace and tranquil ity.	9 Voici qu'un fils t'est né; lui sera un homme de paix et je le mettrai en paix avec tous sesennemis alentour, car Salomon sera son nom, et c'est en ses jours que je donnerai à Israël paix et tranquillité.
10 He must build a house for my name; he wil be my son and I shall be his father, and I shall make thethrone of his kingdom secure over Israel for ever."	10 Il bâtira une maison à mon nom, il sera pour moi un fils et je serai pour lui un père,j'affermirai le trône de sa royauté sur Israël pour toujours.
11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and give you success in building a house for Yahweh yourGod, as he has promised about you.	11 Que Yahvé, ô mon fils, soit maintenant avec toi, et te fasse achever avec succès laconstruction de la maison de Yahvé ton Dieu, comme il l'a dit de toi.
12 And especial y, may Yahweh give you discretion and discernment, may he give you his orders forIsrael, so that you may observe the Law of Yahweh your God.	12 Qu'il te donne cependant perspicacité et discernement, qu'il te donne ses ordres sur Israëlpour que tu observes la Loi de Yahvé ton Dieu!
13 Success wil be yours, only if you observe the statutes and ordinances which Yahweh gave Mosesas regulations for Israel. Be strong and stand fast, be fearless, be dauntless.	13 Tu ne réussiras que si tu observes et mets en pratique les lois et les coutumes que Yahvé aprescrites à Moïse pour Israël. Sois fort et tiens bon! Ne crains pas, ne tremble pas!
14 Now, poor as I am, I have set aside for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, amil ion talents of silver and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, there being so much. I have alsoprovided timber and stone, to which you may add more.	14 Voici que jusque dans ma pauvreté j'ai pu mettre de côté pour la maison de Yahvé 100.000talents d'or, 1.000.000 de talents d'argent, tant de bronze et de fer qu'on ne peut les peser. J'ai aussi entreposé dubois et des pierres et tu en ajouteras d'autres.
15 Furthermore, you have a large number of workmen, quarrymen, masons, carpenters and al sorts ofcraftsmen for every kind of work,	15 Il y aura avec toi maints artisans, carriers, sculpteurs et charpentiers, toutes sortes d'expertsen tous arts.
16 while your gold and silver, bronze and iron wil be beyond reckoning. Set to work, then, and mayYahweh be with you!'	16 Quant à l'or, à l'argent, au bronze et au fer, on ne saurait les compter. Va! agis, et que Yahvésoit avec toi."
17 David then commanded al the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.	17 David ordonna alors à tous les officiers d'Israël de prêter main-forte à Salomon, son fils:
18 'Has not Yahweh your God been with you and given you peace on al sides, having put theinhabitants of the country into my power and the country now having been subdued for Yahweh and his people?	18 "Yahvé, votre Dieu, n'est-il pas avec vous? Car il vous a donné partout le repos, puisqu'il alivré entre mes mains les habitants du pays et que le pays a été soumis à Yahvé et à son peuple.
19 So now devote heart and soul to searching for Yahweh your God. Set to and build the sanctuary ofYahweh God, so that you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy vessels of God into thehouse built for the name of Yahweh.'	19 Donnez maintenant votre coeur et votre âme à la recherche de Yahvé, votre Dieu. Allez,bâtissez le sanctuaire de Yahvé votre Dieu, pour amener à cette maison construite au nom de Yahvé l'arche del'alliance de Yahvé et les objets sacrés de Dieu.
