1 David then said, 'This is to be the house of Yahweh God and this the altar of burnt offering for Israel.'	1 David disse: Qui è la casa di Dio, e questo è l'altare degli olocausti d'Israele.
2 David then gave orders for al foreigners in Israel to be rounded up, and appointed quarrymen to cutdressed stone for building the house of God.	2 E ordinò, che si convocassero tutti i proseliti delle terre d'Israele, e di essi ne scelse degli scarpellini per tagliare, e pulire le pietre per la fabbrica della casa del Signore.
3 David also prepared great quantities of iron to make nails for the leaves of the doors and for theclamps, and more bronze than could be weighed,	3 Preparò ancora Davidde moltissimo ferro per fare i chiodi delle porte, e per commettere insieme, e legare le pietre, e i legnami: e quantità immensa di bronzo.
4 as wel as innumerable cedar-wood logs, as the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought cedar logs toDavid in great quantities.	4 Era parimente inestimabile l'ammasso dei legnami di cedro portati a Davidde dai Sidonj, e dai Tirj.
5 David then said, 'My son Solomon is young and immature, and the house to be built for Yahweh mustbe superlatively fine, the most famous and splendid in any country. I shal now make the preparations for it.' Andso, before he died, David made ample preparations.	5 Perocché disse Davidde: Salomone mio figliuolo è giovinetto tenero, e debole: e la casa, che io desidero, che si erga al Signore, debb' esser tale, che abbia nome tra tutte le genti: io adunque anderò preparando quel, che vi bisogna. E per questo prima della sua morte ne fece anticipatamente tutte le spese.
6 He then summoned his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, God of Israel.	6 E chiamò a se Salomone suo figliuolo: e gli ordinò di fabbricare la casa al Signore Dio d'Israele.
7 'My son,' David said to Solomon, 'my heart was set on building a house for the name of Yahweh myGod.	7 E David disse a Salomone: Figliuol mio, io ebbi in animo di edificare una casa al nome del Signore Dio mio,
8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, "You have shed much blood and fought great wars; it is not foryou to build a house for my name, since you have shed much blood in my sight on earth.	8 Ma il Signore parlommi, e disse: Tu hai sparso molto sangue, e hai fatte molte guerre: tu non potrai edificare la casa al nome mio, avendo sparso tanto sangue dinanzi a me.
9 Look, a son will be born to you. He will be a man of peace, and I shal give him peace from hisenemies on all sides; for Solomon is to be his name, and in his days I shal give Israel peace and tranquil ity.	9 Tu avrai un figliuolo, il quale sarà, uomo di pace: io farò, che egli non sia e disturbato da veruno de' suoi nemici, all'intorno; e per questo ei sarà chiamato il Pacifico: e pace, e tranquillità darò io ad Israele per tutto il tempo dio sua vita.
10 He must build a house for my name; he wil be my son and I shall be his father, and I shall make thethrone of his kingdom secure over Israel for ever."	10 Egli edificherà la casa al nome mio; ed ei sarammi figliuolo, e io sarogli padre: e stabil farò il trono del suo regno sopra Israele in eterno.
11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and give you success in building a house for Yahweh yourGod, as he has promised about you.	11 Or adunque, figliuol mio, sia teco il Signore, e vivi felice, ed edifica la casa al Signore Dio tuo, com'egli ha di te predetto.
12 And especial y, may Yahweh give you discretion and discernment, may he give you his orders forIsrael, so that you may observe the Law of Yahweh your God.	12 E diati di più il Signore prudenza, e senno, affinchè possi governare Israele, e osservare la legge del Signore Dio tuo.
13 Success wil be yours, only if you observe the statutes and ordinances which Yahweh gave Mosesas regulations for Israel. Be strong and stand fast, be fearless, be dauntless.	13 Imperocché allora potrai andare di bene in meglio, se osserverai i comandamenti, e le leggi intimate dal Signore a Mosè, perchè le insegnasse ad Israele: fatti animo, opera virilmente, non temere, non ti sbigottire.
14 Now, poor as I am, I have set aside for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, amil ion talents of silver and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, there being so much. I have alsoprovided timber and stone, to which you may add more.	14 Ecco, che io nella mia povertà ho preparato il bisognevole per la casa del Signore, cento mila talenti d'oro, e un milione di talenti d'argento: il bronzo poi, e il ferro è in tanta quantità, che sorpassa ogni calcolo: e legnami, e pietre ho preparati per tutti i bisogni.
15 Furthermore, you have a large number of workmen, quarrymen, masons, carpenters and al sorts ofcraftsmen for every kind of work,	15 Hai ancora moltissimi operai, scarpellini, e muratori, e legnaiuoli, e artefici d'ogni maniera abilissimi ne' loro mestieri,
16 while your gold and silver, bronze and iron wil be beyond reckoning. Set to work, then, and mayYahweh be with you!'	16 Sia d'oro, sia d'argento, e di bronzo, e di ferro; ed ei sono senza numero. Muoviti adunque, e opera, e il Signore sarà teco.
17 David then commanded al the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.	17 Comandò ancora Davidde a tutti i principi d'Israele, che assistessero Salomone suo figliuolo.
18 'Has not Yahweh your God been with you and given you peace on al sides, having put theinhabitants of the country into my power and the country now having been subdued for Yahweh and his people?	18 Voi vedete (disse loro), come il Signore Dio vostro è con voi, e vi ha dato riposo da tutte le parti, e ha dati nelle mani vostre tutti i vostri nemici, e la terra è soggetta al Signore, e al suo popolo.
19 So now devote heart and soul to searching for Yahweh your God. Set to and build the sanctuary ofYahweh God, so that you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy vessels of God into thehouse built for the name of Yahweh.'	19 Disponete adunque i vostri cuori, e gli animi vostri, e cercate il Signore Dio vostro: e risolvetevi, ed edificate un Santuario al Signore Dio, affinchè e l'arca del testamento del Signore, e i vasi consagrati al Signore sian por tati nella casa edificata al nome del Signore.
