1 Chronicles 22

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 David then said, 'This is to be the house of Yahweh God and this the altar of burnt offering for Israel.'	1 E Davi disse: É aqui a casa do Senhor Deus e este o altar dos holocaustos para Israel.
2 David then gave orders for al foreigners in Israel to be rounded up, and appointed quarrymen to cutdressed stone for building the house of God.	2 Mandou Davi que se juntassem os estrangeiros que viviam na terra de Israel, e designou os trabalhadores para trabalharem as pedras que deviam servir para a construção da casa de Deus.
3 David also prepared great quantities of iron to make nails for the leaves of the doors and for theclamps, and more bronze than could be weighed,	3 Preparou também ferro em abundância, tanto para os pregos dos batentes das portas como para travar as juntas, e uma enorme quantidade de bronze.
4 as wel as innumerable cedar-wood logs, as the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought cedar logs toDavid in great quantities.	4 e de cedros sem conta; pois os sidônios e os tírios lhe tinham enviado uma grande quantidade deles.
5 David then said, 'My son Solomon is young and immature, and the house to be built for Yahweh mustbe superlatively fine, the most famous and splendid in any country. I shal now make the preparations for it.' Andso, before he died, David made ample preparations.	5 Davi dizia: Meu filho Salomão é ainda um menino fraco e a casa que se há de construir ao Senhor deve ser de uma grande magnificência, para ser ilustre e célebre em todos os países. Quero, pois, fazer-lhe os preparativos. Por isso, antes de morrer, ele fez grandes preparativos.
6 He then summoned his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, God of Israel.	6 Depois chamou Salomão, seu filho, e ordenou-lhe que construísse um templo ao Senhor, Deus de Israel.
7 'My son,' David said to Solomon, 'my heart was set on building a house for the name of Yahweh myGod.	7 Meu filho, disse-lhe ele, eu me tinha decidido a construir uma casa ao nome do Senhor, meu Deus.
8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, "You have shed much blood and fought great wars; it is not foryou to build a house for my name, since you have shed much blood in my sight on earth.	8 Mas a palavra do Senhor me foi dirigida nesses termos: Tu derramaste muito sangue e fizeste grandes guerras. Tu não construirás uma casa a meu nome; pois derramaste diante de mim muito sangue sobre a terra.
9 Look, a son will be born to you. He will be a man of peace, and I shal give him peace from hisenemies on all sides; for Solomon is to be his name, and in his days I shal give Israel peace and tranquil ity.	9 Eis: Nascer-te-á um filho que há de ser um homem pacífico; assegurar-lhe-ei a tranqüilidade com todos os seus inimigos ao redor. Seu nome será Salomão. E, durante seu tempo, darei paz e calma a Israel.
10 He must build a house for my name; he wil be my son and I shall be his father, and I shall make thethrone of his kingdom secure over Israel for ever."	10 Ele me edificará um templo; será para mim um filho; eu serei para ele um pai, e firmarei para sempre o trono de sua realeza sobre Israel.
11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and give you success in building a house for Yahweh yourGod, as he has promised about you.	11 Portanto, que o Senhor esteja contigo, meu filho, para que prosperes e construas o templo do Senhor, teu Deus, segundo o que disse de ti.
12 And especial y, may Yahweh give you discretion and discernment, may he give you his orders forIsrael, so that you may observe the Law of Yahweh your God.	12 Que o Senhor se digne conceder-te sabedoria e inteligência, quando te fizer reinar sobre Israel, para que observes a lei do Senhor, teu Deus.
13 Success wil be yours, only if you observe the statutes and ordinances which Yahweh gave Mosesas regulations for Israel. Be strong and stand fast, be fearless, be dauntless.	13 Prosperarás, então, se te aplicares à observância das leis e dos mandamentos que o Senhor prescreveu a Moisés para Israel. Sê forte e corajoso, não temas, nem te amedrontes.
14 Now, poor as I am, I have set aside for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, amil ion talents of silver and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, there being so much. I have alsoprovided timber and stone, to which you may add more.	14 Eis que, por meus esforços, preparei para a casa do Senhor cem mil talentos de ouro, um milhão de talentos de prata, bronze e ferro em tal quantidade que se não poderia pesar: preparei também madeira e pedras; e tu ainda acrescentarás mais.
15 Furthermore, you have a large number of workmen, quarrymen, masons, carpenters and al sorts ofcraftsmen for every kind of work,	15 Tens a teu dispor uma multidão de operários: talhadores, pedreiros, carpinteiros e artífices hábeis em todas as espécies de ofícios.
16 while your gold and silver, bronze and iron wil be beyond reckoning. Set to work, then, and mayYahweh be with you!'	16 O ouro, a prata, o bronze e o ferro existem em número incalculável. Vamos ao trabalho, e que o Senhor esteja contigo!
17 David then commanded al the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.	17 Davi mandou a todos os chefes de Israel ajudar Salomão, seu filho:
18 'Has not Yahweh your God been with you and given you peace on al sides, having put theinhabitants of the country into my power and the country now having been subdued for Yahweh and his people?	18 O Senhor, vosso Deus, disse-lhes ele, não está convosco? Não vos assegurou ele a paz em todas as vossas fronteiras? Com efeito, ele entregou nas minhas mãos os habitantes da terra, que atualmente estão sujeitos ao Senhor, e a seu povo.
19 So now devote heart and soul to searching for Yahweh your God. Set to and build the sanctuary ofYahweh God, so that you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy vessels of God into thehouse built for the name of Yahweh.'	19 Aplicai-vos, pois, de todo o vosso coração e vossa alma a buscar o Senhor vosso Deus. Construí o santuário do Senhor Deus, para trazer a arca da aliança do Senhor e os utensílios sagrados de Deus ao templo que será edificado ao nome do Senhor.
