1 Chronicles 22

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 David then said, 'This is to be the house of Yahweh God and this the altar of burnt offering for Israel.'	1 Entonces dijo David: «¡Aquí está la Casa de Yahveh Dios, y aquí el altar de los holocaustos para Israel!»
2 David then gave orders for al foreigners in Israel to be rounded up, and appointed quarrymen to cutdressed stone for building the house of God.	2 Mandó, pues, David reunir a los forasteros residentes en la tierra de Israel, y designó canteros que preparasen piedras talladas para la construcción de la Casa de Dios.
3 David also prepared great quantities of iron to make nails for the leaves of the doors and for theclamps, and more bronze than could be weighed,	3 Preparó también David hierro en abundancia para la clavazón de las hojas de las puertas y para las grapas, incalculable cantidad de bronce,
4 as wel as innumerable cedar-wood logs, as the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought cedar logs toDavid in great quantities.	4 y madera de cedro inmumerable, pues los sidonios y los tirios trajeron a David madera de cedro en abundancia.
5 David then said, 'My son Solomon is young and immature, and the house to be built for Yahweh mustbe superlatively fine, the most famous and splendid in any country. I shal now make the preparations for it.' Andso, before he died, David made ample preparations.	5 Porque David se decía: «Mi hijo Salomón es todavía joven y débil, y la Casa que ha de edificarse para Yahveh debe ser grandiosa sobre toda ponderación, para tener nombre y gloria en todos los países. Así que le haré yo los preparativos». Hizo David, en efecto, grandes preparativos antes de su muerte.
6 He then summoned his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, God of Israel.	6 Después llamó a su hijo Salomón y le mandó que edificase una Casa para Yahveh, el Dios de Israel.
7 'My son,' David said to Solomon, 'my heart was set on building a house for the name of Yahweh myGod.	7 Dijo David a Salomón: «Hijo mío, yo había deseado edificar una Casa al nombre de Yahveh, mi Dios.
8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, "You have shed much blood and fought great wars; it is not foryou to build a house for my name, since you have shed much blood in my sight on earth.	8 Pero me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh, que me dijo: “Tú has derramado mucha sangre y hecho grandes guerras; no podrás edificar tú la Casa a mi nombre, porque has derramado en tierra mucha sangre delante de mí.
9 Look, a son will be born to you. He will be a man of peace, and I shal give him peace from hisenemies on all sides; for Solomon is to be his name, and in his days I shal give Israel peace and tranquil ity.	9 Mira que te va a nacer un hijo, que será hombre de paz; le concederé paz con todos sus enemigos en derredor, porque Salomón será su nombre y en sus días concederé paz y tranquilidad a Israel.
10 He must build a house for my name; he wil be my son and I shall be his father, and I shall make thethrone of his kingdom secure over Israel for ever."	10 El edificará una Casa a mi nombre; él será para mí un hijo y yo seré para él un padre y consolidaré el trono de su reino sobre Israel para siempre.”
11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and give you success in building a house for Yahweh yourGod, as he has promised about you.	11 Ahora, pues, hijo mío, que Yahveh sea contigo, para que logres edificar la Casa de Yahveh tu Dios, como él de ti lo ha predicho.
12 And especial y, may Yahweh give you discretion and discernment, may he give you his orders forIsrael, so that you may observe the Law of Yahweh your God.	12 Quiera Yahveh concederte prudencia y entendimiento y darte órdemes sobre Israel, para que guardes la Ley de Yahveh tu Dios.
13 Success wil be yours, only if you observe the statutes and ordinances which Yahweh gave Mosesas regulations for Israel. Be strong and stand fast, be fearless, be dauntless.	13 No prosperarás si no cuidas de cumplir los decretos y las normas que Yahveh ha prescrito a Moisés para Israel. ¡Sé fuerte y ten buen ánimo! ¡No temas ni desmayes!
14 Now, poor as I am, I have set aside for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, amil ion talents of silver and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, there being so much. I have alsoprovided timber and stone, to which you may add more.	14 Mira lo que yo he preparado en mi pequeñez para la Casa de Yahveh: 100.000 talentos de oro, un millón de talentos de plata y una cantidad de cobre y de hierro incalculable por su abundancia. He preparado también maderas y piedras que tú podrás aumentar.
15 Furthermore, you have a large number of workmen, quarrymen, masons, carpenters and al sorts ofcraftsmen for every kind of work,	15 Y tienes a mano muchos obreros, canteros, artesanos en piedra y en madera, expertos en toda clase de obras.
16 while your gold and silver, bronze and iron wil be beyond reckoning. Set to work, then, and mayYahweh be with you!'	16 El oro, la plata, el bronce y el el hierro son sin número. ¡Levántate, pues! Manos a la obra y que Yahveh sea contigo».
17 David then commanded al the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.	17 Mandó David a todos los jefes de Israel que ayudasen a su hijo Salomón:
18 'Has not Yahweh your God been with you and given you peace on al sides, having put theinhabitants of the country into my power and the country now having been subdued for Yahweh and his people?	18 «¿No está con vosotros Yahveh vuestro Dios? ¿Y no os ha dado paz por todos lados? Pues él ha entregado en mis manos a los habitantes del país y el país está sujeto ante Yahveh y ante su pueblo.
19 So now devote heart and soul to searching for Yahweh your God. Set to and build the sanctuary ofYahweh God, so that you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy vessels of God into thehouse built for the name of Yahweh.'	19 Aplicad ahora vuestro corazón y vuestra alma a buscar a Yahveh vuestro Dios. Levantaos y edificad el santuario de Yahveh Dios, para trasladar el arca de la alianza de Yahveh y los utensilios del santuario de Dios a la Casa que ha de edificarse al Nombre de Yahveh».
