1 Chronicles 22

1 David then said, 'This is to be the house of Yahweh God and this the altar of burnt offering for Israel.'	1 David disse: « Questa è la casa di Dio, questo è l'altare per l'olocausto d'Israele ».
2 David then gave orders for al foreigners in Israel to be rounded up, and appointed quarrymen to cutdressed stone for building the house of God.	2 Poi ordinò che si adunassero tutti i proseliti della terra d'Israele, e fra essi prese degli scalpellini per tagliare e squadrare pietre per la fabbrica della casa di Dio.
3 David also prepared great quantities of iron to make nails for the leaves of the doors and for theclamps, and more bronze than could be weighed,	3 David preparò anche moltissimo ferro per i chiodi delle porte, per le commettiture e le giunture, e una quantità immensa di rame.
4 as wel as innumerable cedar-wood logs, as the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought cedar logs toDavid in great quantities.	4 Era pure incalcolabile il legname di cedro che i Sidoni e i Tiri avevan portato a David.
5 David then said, 'My son Solomon is young and immature, and the house to be built for Yahweh mustbe superlatively fine, the most famous and splendid in any country. I shal now make the preparations for it.' Andso, before he died, David made ample preparations.	5 E David disse: Salomone mio figlio è giovane di tenera età, e la casa che io voglio edificata al Si­gnore deve essere tale che se ne parli fra tutte le genti: io adunque gli preparerò il necessario ». E per questo prima di morire preparò tutto il necessario per le spese.
6 He then summoned his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, God of Israel.	6 Poi chiamato a sè Salomone suo figlio, gli ordinò di fabbricare una casa al Signore Dio d'Israele.
7 'My son,' David said to Solomon, 'my heart was set on building a house for the name of Yahweh myGod.	7 E David disse a Salomone: « Figlio mio, io ebbi in animo d'edificare una casa al nome del Si­gnore Dio mio;
8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, "You have shed much blood and fought great wars; it is not foryou to build a house for my name, since you have shed much blood in my sight on earth.	8 ma la parola del Signore fu indirizzata a me in questi termini: Tu hai sparso molto sangue ed hai fatte troppe guerre: tu non potrai innalzare una casa al mio nome, avendo sparso tanto sangue dinanzi a me.
9 Look, a son will be born to you. He will be a man of peace, and I shal give him peace from hisenemies on all sides; for Solomon is to be his name, and in his days I shal give Israel peace and tranquil ity.	9 Ti nascerà un figlio che sarà uomo di pace, perchè io farò che egli abbia riposo da tutti i suoi nemici all'intorno, e per questo sarà chiamato Pacifico; e io darò pace e tranquillità a Israele durante tutta la sua vita:
10 He must build a house for my name; he wil be my son and I shall be his father, and I shall make thethrone of his kingdom secure over Israel for ever."	10 egli edificherà una casa al mio nome; egli mi sarà figlio ed io gli sarò padre; e farò stabile il trono del suo regno sopra Israele in eterno.
11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and give you success in building a house for Yahweh yourGod, as he has promised about you.	11 Or dunque, figlio mio, il Si­gnore sia teco: prospera ed edifica la casa del Signore Dio tuo, come Egli ha detto di te.
12 And especial y, may Yahweh give you discretion and discernment, may he give you his orders forIsrael, so that you may observe the Law of Yahweh your God.	12 Il Si­gnore ti doni anche prudenza e senno per poter governare Israele, e osservare la legge del Signore Dio tuo.
13 Success wil be yours, only if you observe the statutes and ordinances which Yahweh gave Mosesas regulations for Israel. Be strong and stand fast, be fearless, be dauntless.	13 Sì, allora potrai prosperare, se osserverai i comandamenti e le ordinazioni che il Si­gnore diede a Mosè, perchè le insegnasse a Israele. Fatti animo, agisci virilmente, senza temere, senza sgomentarti.
14 Now, poor as I am, I have set aside for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, amil ion talents of silver and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, there being so much. I have alsoprovided timber and stone, to which you may add more.	14 Ecco, io nella mia povertà ho preparato, per le spese della casa del Signore, cento mila talenti d'oro, un milione di talenti d'argento. Per il rame e pel ferro non v'è peso, perchè la quantità supera ogni calcolo. Ho anche preparato legname e pietre per tutti i bisogni.
15 Furthermore, you have a large number of workmen, quarrymen, masons, carpenters and al sorts ofcraftsmen for every kind of work,	15 Tu hai poi moltissimi operai, scalpellini, muratori, legnaioli, e artefici d'ogni specie, abilissimi in qualsiasi lavoro,
16 while your gold and silver, bronze and iron wil be beyond reckoning. Set to work, then, and mayYahweh be with you!'	16 d'oro, d'argento, di rame e di ferro, di cui ce n'è senza fine. Alzati adunque; mettiti all'opera, e il Signore sarà teco ».
17 David then commanded al the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.	17 David comandò inoltre a tutti i principi d'Israele di aiutare Salomone suo figlio, e disse loro:
18 'Has not Yahweh your God been with you and given you peace on al sides, having put theinhabitants of the country into my power and the country now having been subdued for Yahweh and his people?	18 « Voi vedete che il Signore Dio vostro è con voi, e vi ha dato riposo di ogni intorno, dando nelle vostre mani tutti i vostri nemici: il paese è assoggettato davanti al Signore e davanti al suo popolo.
19 So now devote heart and soul to searching for Yahweh your God. Set to and build the sanctuary ofYahweh God, so that you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy vessels of God into thehouse built for the name of Yahweh.'	19 Disponete adunque i vostri cuori e le anime vostre a cercare il Signore Dio vostro, poi levatevi ed edificate un santuario al Signore Dio, affinchè l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore, e i vasi consacrati al Signore sian trasportati nella casa che deve essere edificata al nome del Si­gnore ».
