1 David then said, 'This is to be the house of Yahweh God and this the altar of burnt offering for Israel.'	1 - Davide disse: «Questa è la casa di Dio e questo è l'altare degli olocausti per Israele».
2 David then gave orders for al foreigners in Israel to be rounded up, and appointed quarrymen to cutdressed stone for building the house of God.	2 E comandò di riunire tutti gli stranieri che erano nel paese d'Israele e fissò degli scalpellini per tagliare e squadrare pietre per edificare la casa di Dio.
3 David also prepared great quantities of iron to make nails for the leaves of the doors and for theclamps, and more bronze than could be weighed,	3 Davide preparò ancora moltissimo ferro per i chiodi delle porte e per le commettiture e congiunture e inoltre una quantità incalcolabile di rame.
4 as wel as innumerable cedar-wood logs, as the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought cedar logs toDavid in great quantities.	4 Anche i legni di cedro, che i Sidoni e i Tirii avevano portato a Davide, non si potevano contare.
5 David then said, 'My son Solomon is young and immature, and the house to be built for Yahweh mustbe superlatively fine, the most famous and splendid in any country. I shal now make the preparations for it.' Andso, before he died, David made ample preparations.	5 Disse allora Davide: «Il figlio mio Salomone è un fanciullo tenero e delicato, mentre la casa, che io voglio edificata al Signore, dev'essere tale che se ne parli in tutta la terra. Gli preparerò quindi le cose necessarie». Perciò prima della sua morte volle che fossero fatti tutti i preparativi.
6 He then summoned his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, God of Israel.	6 Chiamò Salomone suo figlio e gli comandò di edificare la casa al Signore Dio d'Israele.
7 'My son,' David said to Solomon, 'my heart was set on building a house for the name of Yahweh myGod.	7 Disse pertanto Davide a Salomone: «Figliuol mio, fu mia intenzione di edificare una casa al nome del Signore Iddio mio;
8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, "You have shed much blood and fought great wars; it is not foryou to build a house for my name, since you have shed much blood in my sight on earth.	8 ma il Signore mi parlò dicendo: - Tu hai versato troppo sangue e hai combattute troppe guerre: non potrai edificare una casa al mio nome a cagione del molto sangue versato al mio cospetto.
9 Look, a son will be born to you. He will be a man of peace, and I shal give him peace from hisenemies on all sides; for Solomon is to be his name, and in his days I shal give Israel peace and tranquil ity.	9 Il figlio però, che nascerà da te, sarà un uomo assai quieto, poichè io procurerò che egli sia lasciato tranquillo da tutti i nemici suoi che stanno intorno a lui; perciò sarà chiamato Pacifico, e durante tutta la sua vita darò pace e tranquillità a Israele.
10 He must build a house for my name; he wil be my son and I shall be his father, and I shall make thethrone of his kingdom secure over Israel for ever."	10 Egli edificherà una casa al mio nome ed egli sarà mio figlio ed io gli sarò come padre e renderò stabile il trono del suo regno sopra Israele in eterno.-
11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and give you success in building a house for Yahweh yourGod, as he has promised about you.	11 Ora adunque, o figliuol mio, il Signore sia teco, ti dia prosperità e modo di edificare la casa al Signore Dio tuo, come egli parlò di te.
12 And especial y, may Yahweh give you discretion and discernment, may he give you his orders forIsrael, so that you may observe the Law of Yahweh your God.	12 Ti dia ancora il Signore la prudenza e l'intelligenza, affinchè possa reggere Israele e custodire la legge del Signore Dio tuo,
13 Success wil be yours, only if you observe the statutes and ordinances which Yahweh gave Mosesas regulations for Israel. Be strong and stand fast, be fearless, be dauntless.	13 poichè solamente allora potrai prosperare, quando custodirai i comandamenti e gli ordini, che il Signore impose a Mosè d'insegnare a Israele. Sii forte e opera da uomo, non temere e non ti sgomentare.
14 Now, poor as I am, I have set aside for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, amil ion talents of silver and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, there being so much. I have alsoprovided timber and stone, to which you may add more.	14 Ecco io nella mia povertà ho preparato il denaro per la casa del Signore, centomila talenti d'oro e un milione di talenti d'argento e immensa quantità di ferro e di rame poichè il numero è vinto dalla quantità. Preparai ancora legna e pietre per tutti i bisogni.
15 Furthermore, you have a large number of workmen, quarrymen, masons, carpenters and al sorts ofcraftsmen for every kind of work,	15 Hai ancora a tua disposizione moltissimi operai, scalpellini e muratori e falegnami e artefici di ogni sorta, abilissimi,
16 while your gold and silver, bronze and iron wil be beyond reckoning. Set to work, then, and mayYahweh be with you!'	16 nel fare qualsiasi lavoro in oro, in argento, in rame, in ferro, che saranno senza numero. Levati adunque e mettiti all'opera ed il Signore sarà teco».
17 David then commanded al the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.	17 Comandò ancora Davide a tutti i principi di Israele di porgere aiuto a Salomone suo figliuolo.
18 'Has not Yahweh your God been with you and given you peace on al sides, having put theinhabitants of the country into my power and the country now having been subdued for Yahweh and his people?	18 «Voi vedete», disse «come il Signore Dio vostro sia con voi e vi abbia dato tutto intorno pace e abbia messo tutti i nemici nelle vostre mani e il paese sia assoggettato dinanzi al Signore e dinanzi al suo popolo.
19 So now devote heart and soul to searching for Yahweh your God. Set to and build the sanctuary ofYahweh God, so that you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy vessels of God into thehouse built for the name of Yahweh.'	19 Disponete quindi i vostri cuori e le anime vostre a cercare il Signore Dio vostro. Levatevi ed edificate un santuario al Signore Iddio, affinchè l'arca dell'alleanza del Signore e i vasi consacrati al Signore siano trasportati nella casa che verrà edificata al nome del Signore».
