1 Chronicles 22

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 David then said, 'This is to be the house of Yahweh God and this the altar of burnt offering for Israel.'	1 David dijo: «¡Esta es la Casa del Señor Dios, y este el altar para el holocausto de Israel!».
2 David then gave orders for al foreigners in Israel to be rounded up, and appointed quarrymen to cutdressed stone for building the house of God.	2 David ordenó que se reuniera a todos los extranjeros residentes en el territorio de Israel y los empleó como obreros para que tallaran las piedras destinadas a la construcción de la Casa de Dios.
3 David also prepared great quantities of iron to make nails for the leaves of the doors and for theclamps, and more bronze than could be weighed,	3 También preparó hierro en abundancia, para clavar las hojas de las puertas y para las grampas, bronce en cantidad incalculable,
4 as wel as innumerable cedar-wood logs, as the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought cedar logs toDavid in great quantities.	4 y madera de cedro sin medida, porque los sidonios y los tirios habían traído a David madera de cedro en abundancia.
5 David then said, 'My son Solomon is young and immature, and the house to be built for Yahweh mustbe superlatively fine, the most famous and splendid in any country. I shal now make the preparations for it.' Andso, before he died, David made ample preparations.	5 David, en efecto, pensaba: «Mi hijo Salomón es todavía joven y débil, y la Casa que hay que edificar para el Señor debe ser extraordinariamente grandiosa, de manera que se hable de ella y sea famosa en todos los países. Por eso, yo haré los preparativos». Así, David hizo grandes preparativos antes de su muerte.
6 He then summoned his son Solomon and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, God of Israel.	6 Después llamó a su hijo Salomón y le ordenó que edificara una Casa para el Señor, el Dios de Israel.
7 'My son,' David said to Solomon, 'my heart was set on building a house for the name of Yahweh myGod.	7 David dijo a Salomón: «Hijo mío, yo me había propuesto edificar una Casa para el nombre del Señor, mi Dios.
8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, "You have shed much blood and fought great wars; it is not foryou to build a house for my name, since you have shed much blood in my sight on earth.	8 Pero la palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos: "Tú has derramado mucha sangre y has hecho grandes guerras; tú no edificarás una Casa para mi Nombre, porque has derramado mucha sangre sobre la tierra delante de mí.
9 Look, a son will be born to you. He will be a man of peace, and I shal give him peace from hisenemies on all sides; for Solomon is to be his name, and in his days I shal give Israel peace and tranquil ity.	9 Te nacerá un hijo, que será hombre de paz; yo lo haré vivir en paz con todos los enemigos de su alrededor, porque su nombre será Salomón, y mientras él viva, concederé paz y tranquilidad a Israel.
10 He must build a house for my name; he wil be my son and I shall be his father, and I shall make thethrone of his kingdom secure over Israel for ever."	10 El edificará una Casa para mi Nombre; él será para mí un hijo y yo seré para él un padre, y afianzaré su trono real sobre Israel para siempre".
11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and give you success in building a house for Yahweh yourGod, as he has promised about you.	11 Ahora, hijo mío, que el Señor esté contigo, para que logres edificar la Casa del Señor, tu Dios, como él lo ha predicho de ti.
12 And especial y, may Yahweh give you discretion and discernment, may he give you his orders forIsrael, so that you may observe the Law of Yahweh your God.	12 Y que el Señor te dé discernimiento e inteligencia cuando te ponga al frente de Israel, a fin de que observes la Ley del Señor, tu Dios.
13 Success wil be yours, only if you observe the statutes and ordinances which Yahweh gave Mosesas regulations for Israel. Be strong and stand fast, be fearless, be dauntless.	13 Si te empeñas por cumplir los decretos y las leyes que el Señor ha ordenado a Moisés para Israel, entonces prosperarás. ¡Sé fuerte y valeroso! ¡No temas ni te acobardes!
14 Now, poor as I am, I have set aside for the house of Yahweh a hundred thousand talents of gold, amil ion talents of silver and more bronze and iron than can be weighed, there being so much. I have alsoprovided timber and stone, to which you may add more.	14 Mira lo que yo he preparado con mucha dificultad para la Casa del Señor: cien mil talentos de oro, un millón de talentos de plata y una incalculable cantidad de bronce y de hierro. He preparado también maderas y piedras que tú tendrás que acrecentar.
15 Furthermore, you have a large number of workmen, quarrymen, masons, carpenters and al sorts ofcraftsmen for every kind of work,	15 Tienes a tu disposición un buen número de obreros, talladores de piedras, orfebres y expertos en toda clase de obras.
16 while your gold and silver, bronze and iron wil be beyond reckoning. Set to work, then, and mayYahweh be with you!'	16 El oro, la plata, el bronce y el hierro son incalculables. Prepárate para la obra y que el Señor esté contigo».
17 David then commanded al the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon.	17 Después David ordenó a todos los jefes de Israel que ayudaran a su hijo Salomón:
18 'Has not Yahweh your God been with you and given you peace on al sides, having put theinhabitants of the country into my power and the country now having been subdued for Yahweh and his people?	18 «¿Acaso no está con ustedes el Señor, su Dios? ¿No les ha dado paz por todas partes? Porque él ha puesto en sus manos a los habitantes del país, y todo el país está sometido al Señor y a su pueblo.
19 So now devote heart and soul to searching for Yahweh your God. Set to and build the sanctuary ofYahweh God, so that you can bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh and the holy vessels of God into thehouse built for the name of Yahweh.'	19 Dedíquense ahora de todo corazón y con toda su alma a buscar al Señor, su Dios. Prepárense a edificar el Santuario del Señor, su Dios, a fin de trasladar a la Casa que se va edificar para el nombre del Señor el Arca de la Alianza del Señor y los utensilios consagrados a Dios».
