NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 Al Israel then ral ied to David at Hebron and said, 'Look, we are your own flesh and bone.	1 واجتمع كل اسرائيل الى داود في حبرون قائلين هوذا عظمك ولحمك نحن.
2 In days past when Saul was king, it was you who led Israel on its campaigns, and Yahweh your Godpromised you, "You are to shepherd my people Israel and be leader of my people Israel." '	2 ومنذ امس وما قبله حين كان شاول ملكا كنت انت تخرج وتدخل اسرائيل وقد قال لك الرب الهك انت ترعى شعبي اسرائيل وانت تكون رئيسا لشعبي اسرائيل.
3 So al the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron, and David made a pact with them in Yahweh'spresence at Hebron, and they anointed David as king of Israel, in accordance with the word of Yahweh throughSamuel.	3 وجاء جميع شيوخ اسرائيل الى الملك الى حبرون فقطع داود معهم عهدا في حبرون امام الرب ومسحوا داود ملكا على اسرائيل حسب كلام الرب عن يد صموئيل
4 David and al Israel then marched on Jerusalem (that is to say, Jebus); the inhabitants of the territorywere the Jebusites.	4 وذهب داود وكل اسرائيل الى اورشليم اي يبوس. وهناك اليبوسيون سكان الارض.
5 The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, 'You wil not get in here.' But David captured the citadel ofZion, that is, the City of David.	5 وقال سكان يبوس لداود لا تدخل الى هنا. فاخذ داود حصن صهيون. هي مدينة داود.
6 David said, 'The first man to kill a Jebusite will be made army commander and chief.' Joab son ofZeruiah was the first man to go up, and was made commander of the army.	6 وقال داود ان الذي يضرب اليبوسيين اولا يكون راسا وقائدا. فصعد اولا يوآب ابن صروية فصار راسا.
7 David went to live in the citadel, and that is how it came to be cal ed the City of David.	7 واقام داود في الحصن لذلك دعوه مدينة داود.
8 He then built a wal round the city, al round, beginning from the Mil o, and Joab restored the rest ofthe city.	8 وبنى المدينة حواليها من القلعة الى ما حولها. ويوآب جدّد سائر المدينة.
9 Thus David grew stronger and stronger, for Yahweh Sabaoth was with him.	9 وكان داود يتزايد متعظما ورب الجنود معه
10 These are David's principal champions who joined forces with him in his kingdom, with al Israel, tomake him king in accordance with the word of Yahweh concerning Israel.	10 وهؤلاء رؤساء الابطال الذين لداود الذين تشددوا معه في ملكه مع كل اسرائيل لتمليكه حسب كلام الرب من جهة اسرائيل.
11 This is the roll of David's champions: Jashobeam son of Hachmoni, head of the Three; he it was whobrandished his spear over three hundred men whom he had kil ed at one time.	11 وهذا هو عدد الابطال الذين لداود. يشبعام بن حكموني رئيس الثوالث. هو هزّ رمحه على ثلاث مئة قتلهم دفعة واحدة.
12 Next, there was Eleazar son of Dodo, the Ahohite, one of the three champions.	12 وبعده العازار بن دودو الاخوخي. هو من الابطال الثلاثة.
13 He was with David at Pas-Dammim when the Philistines mustered for battle there. There was a fieldful of barley there; and the people fled from the Philistines.	13 هو كان مع داود في فسّ دمّيم وقد اجتمع هناك الفلسطينيون للحرب. وكانت قطعة الحقل مملوءة شعيرا فهرب الشعب من امام الفلسطينيين.
14 And they took their stand in the middle of the field, held it and cut down the Philistines; and Yahwehbrought about a great victory.	14 ووقفوا في وسط القطعة وانقذوها وضربوا الفلسطينيين وخلّص الرب خلاصا عظيما.
15 Three members of the Thirty went down to David at the rock near the Cave of Adul am while acompany of Philistines was encamped in the Valley of the Rephaim.	15 ونزل ثلاثة من الثلاثين رئيسا الى الصخر الى داود الى مغارة عدلام وجيش الفلسطينيين نازل في وادي الرفائيين.
16 David was then in the stronghold and there was a Philistine garrison in Bethlehem.	16 وكان داود حينئذ في الحصن. وحفظة الفلسطينيين حينئذ في بيت لحم.
17 Longingly, David said, 'If only someone would fetch me a drink of water from the wel that stands bythe gate at Bethlehem!'	17 فتأوه داود وقال من يسقيني ماء من بئر بيت لحم التي عند الباب.
18 At this the three champions, forcing their way through the Philistine camp, drew water from the welthat stands by the gate of Bethlehem and, bringing it away, presented it to David. David, however, would notdrink any of it, but poured it out as a libation to Yahweh.	18 فشقّ الثلاثة محلّة الفلسطينيين واستقوا ماء من بئر بيت لحم التي عند الباب وحملوه وأتوا به الى داود فلم يشأ داود ان يشربه بل سكبه للرب
19 'God preserve me', he said, 'from doing such a thing! Am I to drink these men's blood? For at the riskof their lives they brought it.' And so he would not drink. Such were the deeds of the three champions.	19 وقال. حاشا لي من قبل الهي ان افعل ذلك. أأشرب دم هؤلاء الرجال بانفسهم. لانهم انما أتوا به بانفسهم. ولم يشأ ان يشربه. هذا ما فعله الابطال الثلاثة.
20 Abishai, brother of Joab, was leader of the Thirty. He it was who brandished his spear over threehundred men whom he had killed, winning himself a name among the Thirty.	20 وابشاي اخو يوآب كان رئيس ثلاثة. وهو قد هزّ رمحه على ثلاث مئة فقتلهم فكان له اسم بين الثلاثة.
21 He was a most il ustrious member of the Thirty and became their captain, but he was not equal to theThree.	21 من الثلاثة اكرم على الاثنين وكان لهما رئيسا الا انه لم يصل الى الثلاثة الأول.
22 Benaiah son of Jehoiada from Kabzeel was the hero of many exploits; he it was who slaughtered twoformidable Moabites and, one snowy day, climbed down and slaughtered the lion in the storage-wel .	22 بنايا بن يهوياداع ابن ذي بأس كثير الافعال من قبصئيل. هو الذي ضرب اسدي موآب وهو الذي نزل وضرب اسدا في وسط جب يوم الثلج.
23 He also slaughtered an Egyptian, a man who was seven and a half feet tal . The Egyptian was armedwith a spear in his hand like a weaver's beam, but he took him on with a staff, tore the spear from the Egyptian'shand and kil ed the man with it.	23 وهو ضرب الرجل المصري الذي قامته خمس اذرع. وفي يد المصري رمح كنول النسّاجين. فنزل اليه بعصا وخطف الرمح من يد المصري وقتله برمحه.
24 Such were the exploits of Benaiah son of Jehoiada, winning him a name among the thirtychampions.	24 هذا ما فعله بنايا بن يهوياداع فكان له اسم بين الثلاثة الابطال.
25 He was a most il ustrious member of the Thirty, but he was not equal to the Three. David put him incommand of his bodyguard.	25 هوذا اكرم على الثلاثين الا انه لم يصل الى الثلاثة. فجعله داود من اصحاب سرّه
26 The military champions were: Asahel brother of Joab; Elhanan son of Dodo, of Bethlehem;	26 وابطال الجيش هم عسائيل اخو يوآب والحانان بن دودو من بيت لحم
27 Shammoth of Haror; Helez the Pelonite;	27 شموت الهروري حالص الفلوني
28 Ira son of Ikkesh, of Tekoa; Abiezer of Anathoth;	28 عيرا بن عقيش التقوعي ابيعزر العناثوثي
29 Sibbecai of Hushah; Ilai of Ahoh;	29 سبكاي الحوشاتي عيلاي الاخوخي
30 Maharai of Netophah; Heled son of Baanah, of Netophah.	30 مهراي النطوفاتي خالد بن بعنة النطوفاتي
31 Ithai son of Ribai, of Gibeah in Benjamin. Benaiah of Pirathon;	31 إتّاي بن ريباي من جبعة بني بنيامين بنايا الفرعتوني
32 Hurai of the Torrents of Gaash; Abiel of Beth-ha-Arabah;	32 حوراي من اودية جاعش ابيئيل العرباتي
33 Azmaveth of Bahurim; Eliahba of Shaalbon;	33 عزموت البحرومي إليحبا الشعلبوني.
34 the sons of Hashem of Gizon; Jonathan son of Shagee, of Harar;	34 بنو هاشم الجزوني يوناثان بن شاجاي الهراري
35 Ahiam son of Sachar, of Harar; Eliphelet son of Ur;	35 اخيآم بن ساكار الهراري اليفال بن اور
36 Hepher of Mecherah; Ahijah the Pelonite;	36 حافر المكيراتي واخيّا الفلوني.
37 Hezro of Carmel; Naarai son of Ezbai;	37 حصرو الكرملي نعراي بن ازباي
38 Joel brother of Nathan; Mibhar son of Hagri;	38 يوئيل اخو ناثان مبحار بن هجري
39 Zelek the Ammonite; Naharai of Beeroth, armour-bearer to Joab son of Zeruiah;	39 صالق العموني نحراي البئيروتي حامل سلاح يوآب ابن صروية
40 Ira of Jattir; Gareb of Jattir;	40 عيرا اليثري جارب اليثري
41 Uriah the Hittite; Zabad son of Ahlai;	41 اوريا الحثي زاباد بن احلاي
42 Adina son of Shiza the Reubenite, chief of the Reubenites and commander of the Thirty;	42 عدينا بن شيزا الرأوبيني راس الرأوبينيين ومعه ثلاثون.
43 Hanan son of Maacah; Joshaphat the Mithnite;	43 حانان ابن معكة يوشافاط المثني
44 Uzzia of Ashteroth; Shama and Jeiel sons of Hotham of Aroer;	44 عزيا العشتروتي شاماع ويعوئيل ابنا حوثام العروعيري
45 Jediael son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite;	45 يديعئيل بن شمري ويوحا اخوه التيصي
46 Eliel the Mahavite; Jeribai and Joshaviah sons of Elnaam; Ithmah the Moabite;	46 ايليئيل من محويم ويريباي ويوشويا ابنا النعم ويثمة الموآبي
47 Eliel, Obed, and Jaasiel of Zobah.	47 ايليئيل وعوبيد ويعسيئيل من مصوبايا
