1 When Solomon had finished building the Temple of Yahweh, the royal palace and everything else whichSolomon had wanted to do,	1 Avendo dunque Salomone compiuta la fabbrica della casa del Signore, e del palazzo reale, e tutto quello, che aveva intenzione, e bramosia di fare,
2 Yahweh appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.	2 Gli apparve il Signore per la seconda volta, come gli era apparito a Gabaon.
3 Yahweh said to him, 'I have heard your prayer and the entreaty which you have before me. I consecratethis temple which you have built: I place my name there for ever; my eyes and my heart wil be there always.	3 E il Signore disse a lui: Io ho esaudita la tua orazione, e le suppliche, che tu hai fatte dinanzi a me: ho santificata questa casa edificata da te, affinchè ella porti in sempiterno il mio nome, e gli occhi miei, e il mio cuore saran fissi su questo luogo in ogni tempo.
4 For your part, if you walk before me in innocence of heart and in honesty, like your father David, if youdo everything that I command and keep my laws and my ordinances,	4 E parimente se tu camminerai dinanzi a me, come camminò il padre tuo, con cuor semplice, e retto, e farai tutto quello, ch'io ti ho comandato, e osserverai le mie leggi, e i miei comandamenti,
5 I shal make your royal throne secure over Israel for ever, as I promised your father David when I said,"You wil never lack for a man on the throne of Israel."	5 Io stabilirò il trono del tuo regno sopra Israele in eterno conforme promisi a Davidde tuo padre, dicendogli: Non mancherà di tua stirpe chi segga sul trono d'Israele.
6 But if you turn away from me, either you or your descendants, and instead of keeping mycommandments and laws which I have laid down for you, you go and serve other gods and worship them,	6 Ma se mai vi ritirerete voi, ed i vostri figliuoli dal seguir me, e dall'osservanza de' miei precetti, e delle cerimonie, che io vi ho ordinate, anzi anderete dietro agli dei stranieri, e loro renderete culto, e gli adorerete:
7 then I shal banish Israel from the country which I have given them, and shall disown this Temple which Ihave consecrated for my name, and Israel will be a proverb and a byword among al peoples.	7 Io svellerò Israele di sopra la terra datagli da me, ed il tempio, cui io consagrai al mio nome, lo rigetterò dal mio cospetto, e sarà Israele lo scherno, e la favola di tutte le genti.
8 As for this once-exalted Temple, everyone who passes by wil be appal ed, and they wil whistle and say,"Why has Yahweh treated this country and this Temple like this?"	8 E questa casa sarà un esempio: chiunque le passerà davanti rimarra stupefatto, e darà in esclamazioni, e dirà: Per qual motivo ha egli il Signore trattato in tal guisa questo paese, e questa casa?
9 And the answer wil be, "Because they deserted Yahweh their God who brought their ancestors out ofEgypt, and they adopted other gods and worshipped and served them; that is why Yahweh has brought al thesedisasters on them." '	9 E sarà loro risposto perchè hanno abbandonato il Signore Dio loro, il quale trasse i padri loro dalla terra d'Egitto, e sono andati dietro agli dei stranieri, e gli hanno adorati e servitii; per questo il Signore ha mandato sciagure tali sopra di essi.
10 At the end of the twenty years that it took Solomon to erect the two buildings, the Temple of Yahwehand the royal palace	10 Passati dipoi venti anni, ne quali Salomone edificò due case, cioè la casa del Signore, e la casa del re,
11 (Hiram king of Tyre had provided Solomon with al the cedar wood, juniper wood and gold that hewanted), King Solomon gave Hiram twenty towns in the territory of Galilee.	11 (Avendogli Hiram re di Tiro somministrati i legnami di cedro, e di abete, e l'oro, di, cui egli potè aver bisogno) allora diede Salomone ad Hiram venti città nel paese della Galilea.
12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to view the towns that Solomon had given him, he was not pleasedwith them.	12 E Hiram parti da Tiro, per vedere le città dategli da Salomone, e non gli piacquero,
13 He said, 'What kind of towns are these you have given me, brother?' And to this day they are known as'cabul-land'.	13 E disse: Son elleno queste le città, che tu, o fratello, mi hai date? E pose loro il nome di terra di Chabul, come pur oggi si dice.
14 Hiram sent the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.	14 Hiram avea ancora mandato al re Salomone cento venti talenti d'oro.
15 This is an account of the forced labour levied by King Solomon for building the Temple of Yahweh, hisown palace, the Mil o and the fortifications of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, Gezer	15 Tanto spese il re Salomone nella fabbrica della casa del Signore, e della casa sua, e di Mello, e nelle mura di Gerusalemme, e di Heser, e di Mageddo, e di Gazer.
16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt mounted an expedition, captured Gezer, burnt it down and massacred theCanaanites living there; he then gave the town as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife,	16 Faraone re d'Egitto andò di essedio di Gazer, e la prese, e la diede alle fiamme, e distrusse i Chananei, che abitavano la città, e la dette per dote alla sua figliuola moglie di Salomone.
17 and Solomon rebuilt Gezer), Lower Beth-Horon,	17 Salomone adunque riedifico Gazer, e Bethoron inferiore,
18 Baalath, Tamar in the desert, inside the country,	18 E Baalath, e Palmira nel deserto,
19 al Solomon's storage towns owned by Solomon, al the towns for his chariots and horses, andwhatever Solomon was pleased to build in Jerusalem, in the Lebanon and in al the countries under his rule.	19 E tutti i borghi, che appartenevano a lui, ed eran senza muraglie, e li fortificò, e le città dei cocchi, e le città dei soldati a cavallo, e tutto quel, che a lui piacque di fabbricare a Gerusalemme, e sul Libano, e in tutto il paese di suo dominio.
20 Al those who survived of the Amorite, Hittite, Perizzite, Hivite and Jebusite peoples, who were notIsraelites-	20 Di tutta la gente, che era rimasa degli Amorrhei, e degli Hathei, e de' Pherezei, e degli Hevei, e de' Jebusei, i quali non eran del numero de' figliuoli d'Israele:
21 their descendants still remaining in the country on whom the Israelites had not been able to enforce thecurse of destruction -- these Solomon levied as forced labourers, as is stil the case today.	21 I figliuoli di questi, che eran rimasti nel paese, perchè i figliuoli di Israele non avean potuto sterminarli, Salomone li fece tributari, come sono anche in oggi.
22 Solomon did not, however, impose forced labour on the Israelites; for they were soldiers, his officials,his administrators, his officers and his chariot and cavalry commanders.	22 Ma de' figliuoli d'Israele Salomone non comportò, che alcuno servisse; ma essi erano destinati alla guerra, e ministri di lui, e principi, e capitani, e comandanti di cocchi, e di cavalli
23 There were five hundred and fifty officials in charge of the foremen over Solomon's work, whosupervised the people employed on the work.	23 Ora a tutti i lavori di Salomone soprintendevano cinquecento cinquanta capi, i quali dirigevano la moltitudine che era ad essi subordinata, e avevano ispezione sopra i lavori, che erano loro assegnati.
24 After Pharaoh's daughter had moved from the City of David up to the palace which he had built for her,he then built the Mil o.	24 Or la figliuola di Faraone passò dalla città di Davidde alla sua casa fabbricatale da Salomone: egli allora edificò Mello.
25 Three times a year Solomon presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices on the altar which hehad built for Yahweh and set his burnt offerings smoking before Yahweh. 26 King Solomon equipped a fleet at Ezion-Geber, which is near Elath on the shores of the Red Sea, inEdom.	26 Fece ancora il re Salomone un'armata navale in Asiongaber, che è vicino ad Elath sul lido del mare rosso, nell'Idumea.
27 For this fleet Hiram sent men of his, experienced sailors, to serve with those in Solomon's service.	27 E Hiram mandò su quell'annata un numero de' suoi servi intelligenti nel la nautica, e pratichi del mare insieme co' servi di Salomone:
28 They went to Ophir and took on four hundred and twenty talents of gold, which they brought back toSolomon.	28 I quali essendo andati a Ophir, portarono al re Salomone quattro cento venti talenti d'oro, che indi ritrassero.
