NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 When Solomon had finished building the Temple of Yahweh, the royal palace and everything else whichSolomon had wanted to do,	1 Après que Salomon eut achevé de construire le Temple de Yahvé, le palais royal et tout ce qu'il plut àSalomon de réaliser,
2 Yahweh appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.	2 Yahvé apparut une seconde fois à Salomon comme il lui était apparu à Gabaôn.
3 Yahweh said to him, 'I have heard your prayer and the entreaty which you have before me. I consecratethis temple which you have built: I place my name there for ever; my eyes and my heart wil be there always.	3 Yahvé lui dit: "J'exauce la prière et la supplication que tu m'as présentées. Je consacre cette maisonque tu as bâtie, en y plaçant mon Nom à jamais; mes yeux et mon coeur y seront toujours.
4 For your part, if you walk before me in innocence of heart and in honesty, like your father David, if youdo everything that I command and keep my laws and my ordinances,	4 Pour toi, si tu marches devant moi comme a fait ton père David, dans l'innocence du coeur et ladroiture, si tu agis selon tout ce que je te commande et si tu observes mes lois et mes ordonnances,
5 I shal make your royal throne secure over Israel for ever, as I promised your father David when I said,"You wil never lack for a man on the throne of Israel."	5 je maintiendrai pour toujours ton trône royal sur Israël, comme je l'ai promis à ton père David quandj'ai dit: Il ne te manquera jamais un descendant sur le trône d'Israël;
6 But if you turn away from me, either you or your descendants, and instead of keeping mycommandments and laws which I have laid down for you, you go and serve other gods and worship them,	6 mais si vous m'abandonnez, vous et vos fils, si vous n'observez pas les commandements et les loisque je vous ai proposés, si vous allez servir d'autres dieux et leur rendez hommage,
7 then I shal banish Israel from the country which I have given them, and shall disown this Temple which Ihave consecrated for my name, and Israel will be a proverb and a byword among al peoples.	7 alors je retrancherai Israël du pays que je lui ai donné; ce Temple que j'ai consacré à mon Nom, je lerejetterai de ma présence, et Israël sera la fable et la risée de tous les peuples.
8 As for this once-exalted Temple, everyone who passes by wil be appal ed, and they wil whistle and say,"Why has Yahweh treated this country and this Temple like this?"	8 Ce Temple sublime, tous ceux qui le longeront seront stupéfaits; ils siffleront et diront: PourquoiYahvé a-t-il fait cela à ce pays et à ce Temple?
9 And the answer wil be, "Because they deserted Yahweh their God who brought their ancestors out ofEgypt, and they adopted other gods and worshipped and served them; that is why Yahweh has brought al thesedisasters on them." '	9 Et l'on répondra: Parce qu'ils ont abandonné Yahvé leur Dieu qui avait fait sortir leurs pères du paysd'Egypte, qu'ils se sont attachés à d'autres dieux et qu'ils leur ont rendu hommage et culte, voilà pourquoi Yahvéleur a envoyé tous ces maux."
10 At the end of the twenty years that it took Solomon to erect the two buildings, the Temple of Yahwehand the royal palace	10 Au bout des vingt années pendant lesquelles Salomon construisit les deux édifices, le Temple deYahvé et le palais royal
11 (Hiram king of Tyre had provided Solomon with al the cedar wood, juniper wood and gold that hewanted), King Solomon gave Hiram twenty towns in the territory of Galilee.	11 (Hiram, roi de Tyr, lui avait fourni du bois de cèdre et de genévrier, et de l'or, tant qu'il en avaitvoulu), alors le roi Salomon donna à Hiram vingt villes dans le pays de Galilée.
12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to view the towns that Solomon had given him, he was not pleasedwith them.	12 Hiram vint de Tyr pour voir les villes que Salomon lui avait données, et elles ne lui plurent pas;
13 He said, 'What kind of towns are these you have given me, brother?' And to this day they are known as'cabul-land'.	13 il dit: "Qu'est-ce que ces villes que tu m'as données, mon frère", et, jusqu'à ce jour, on les appelle "lepays de Kabul."
14 Hiram sent the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.	14 Hiram envoya au roi 120 talents d'or.
15 This is an account of the forced labour levied by King Solomon for building the Temple of Yahweh, hisown palace, the Mil o and the fortifications of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, Gezer	15 Voici ce qui concerne la corvée que le roi Salomon leva pour construire le Temple de Yahvé, sonpropre palais, le Millo et le mur de Jérusalem, Haçor, Megiddo, Gézèr,
16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt mounted an expedition, captured Gezer, burnt it down and massacred theCanaanites living there; he then gave the town as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife,	16 (Pharaon, le roi d'Egypte, fit une expédition, prit Gézèr, l'incendia et massacra les Cananéens qui yhabitaient, puis il donna la ville en cadeau de noces à sa fille, la femme de Salomon,
17 and Solomon rebuilt Gezer), Lower Beth-Horon,	17 et Salomon reconstruisit Gézèr), Bet-Horôn-le-Bas,
18 Baalath, Tamar in the desert, inside the country,	18 Baalat, Tamar au désert, dans le pays,
19 al Solomon's storage towns owned by Solomon, al the towns for his chariots and horses, andwhatever Solomon was pleased to build in Jerusalem, in the Lebanon and in al the countries under his rule.	19 toutes les villes-entrepôts qu'avait Salomon, les villes de chars et de chevaux, et ce qu'il plut àSalomon de construire à Jérusalem, au Liban et dans tous les pays qui lui étaient soumis.
20 Al those who survived of the Amorite, Hittite, Perizzite, Hivite and Jebusite peoples, who were notIsraelites-	20 Tout ce qui restait des Amorites, des Hittites, des Perizzites, des Hivvites et des Jébuséens, quin'étaient pas des Israélites,
21 their descendants still remaining in the country on whom the Israelites had not been able to enforce thecurse of destruction -- these Solomon levied as forced labourers, as is stil the case today.	21 leurs descendants restés après eux dans le pays, ceux que les Israélites n'avaient pas pu vouer àl'anathème, Salomon les leva comme hommes de corvée servile; ils le sont encore.
22 Solomon did not, however, impose forced labour on the Israelites; for they were soldiers, his officials,his administrators, his officers and his chariot and cavalry commanders.	22 Mais il n'imposa pas la corvée servile aux Israélites, plutôt ceux-ci servaient comme soldats: ilsétaient ses gardes, ses officiers et ses écuyers, les officiers de sa charrerie et de sa cavalerie.
23 There were five hundred and fifty officials in charge of the foremen over Solomon's work, whosupervised the people employed on the work.	23 Voici les officiers des préfets qui dirigeaient les travaux de Salomon: 550, qui commandaient aupeuple occupé aux travaux.
24 After Pharaoh's daughter had moved from the City of David up to the palace which he had built for her,he then built the Mil o.	24 Dès que la fille de Pharaon fut montée de la Cité de David à sa maison qu'il lui avait construite,alors il bâtit le Millo.
25 Three times a year Solomon presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices on the altar which hehad built for Yahweh and set his burnt offerings smoking before Yahweh. Thus he completed the Temple.	25 Salomon offrait trois fois par an des holocaustes et des sacrifices de communion sur l'autel qu'ilavait dressé à Yahvé et il faisait fumer devant Yahvé ses offrandes brûlées. Il maintenait le Temple en bon état.
26 King Solomon equipped a fleet at Ezion-Geber, which is near Elath on the shores of the Red Sea, inEdom.	26 Le roi Salomon arma une flotte à Eçyôn-Gébèr, qui est près d'Elat, sur le bord de la mer Rouge, aupays d'Edom.
27 For this fleet Hiram sent men of his, experienced sailors, to serve with those in Solomon's service.	27 Hiram envoya sur les vaisseaux ses serviteurs, des matelots qui connaissaient la mer, avec lesserviteurs de Salomon.
28 They went to Ophir and took on four hundred and twenty talents of gold, which they brought back toSolomon.	28 Ils allèrent à Ophir et en rapportèrent 420 talents d'or, qu'ils remirent au roi Salomon.
