1 Kings 9

NEW JERUSALEM	LXX
1 When Solomon had finished building the Temple of Yahweh, the royal palace and everything else whichSolomon had wanted to do,	1 και εγενηθη ως συνετελεσεν σαλωμων οικοδομειν τον οικον κυριου και τον οικον του βασιλεως και πασαν την πραγματειαν σαλωμων οσα ηθελησεν ποιησαι
2 Yahweh appeared to Solomon a second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.	2 και ωφθη κυριος τω σαλωμων δευτερον καθως ωφθη εν γαβαων
3 Yahweh said to him, 'I have heard your prayer and the entreaty which you have before me. I consecratethis temple which you have built: I place my name there for ever; my eyes and my heart wil be there always.	3 και ειπεν προς αυτον κυριος ηκουσα της φωνης της προσευχης σου και της δεησεως σου ης εδεηθης ενωπιον εμου πεποιηκα σοι κατα πασαν την προσευχην σου ηγιακα τον οικον τουτον ον ωκοδομησας του θεσθαι το ονομα μου εκει εις τον αιωνα και εσονται οι οφθαλμοι μου εκει και η καρδια μου πασας τας ημερας
4 For your part, if you walk before me in innocence of heart and in honesty, like your father David, if youdo everything that I command and keep my laws and my ordinances,	4 και συ εαν πορευθης ενωπιον εμου καθως επορευθη δαυιδ ο πατηρ σου εν οσιοτητι καρδιας και εν ευθυτητι και του ποιειν κατα παντα α ενετειλαμην αυτω και τα προσταγματα μου και τας εντολας μου φυλαξης
5 I shal make your royal throne secure over Israel for ever, as I promised your father David when I said,"You wil never lack for a man on the throne of Israel."	5 και αναστησω τον θρονον της βασιλειας σου επι ισραηλ εις τον αιωνα καθως ελαλησα τω δαυιδ πατρι σου λεγων ουκ εξαρθησεται σοι ανηρ ηγουμενος εν ισραηλ
6 But if you turn away from me, either you or your descendants, and instead of keeping mycommandments and laws which I have laid down for you, you go and serve other gods and worship them,	6 εαν δε αποστραφεντες αποστραφητε υμεις και τα τεκνα υμων απ' εμου και μη φυλαξητε τας εντολας μου και τα προσταγματα μου α εδωκεν μωυσης ενωπιον υμων και πορευθητε και δουλευσητε θεοις ετεροις και προσκυνησητε αυτοις
7 then I shal banish Israel from the country which I have given them, and shall disown this Temple which Ihave consecrated for my name, and Israel will be a proverb and a byword among al peoples.	7 και εξαρω τον ισραηλ απο της γης ης εδωκα αυτοις και τον οικον τουτον ον ηγιασα τω ονοματι μου απορριψω εκ προσωπου μου και εσται ισραηλ εις αφανισμον και εις λαλημα εις παντας τους λαους
8 As for this once-exalted Temple, everyone who passes by wil be appal ed, and they wil whistle and say,"Why has Yahweh treated this country and this Temple like this?"	8 και ο οικος ουτος ο υψηλος πας ο διαπορευομενος δι' αυτου εκστησεται και συριει και ερουσιν ενεκα τινος εποιησεν κυριος ουτως τη γη ταυτη και τω οικω τουτω
9 And the answer wil be, "Because they deserted Yahweh their God who brought their ancestors out ofEgypt, and they adopted other gods and worshipped and served them; that is why Yahweh has brought al thesedisasters on them." '	9 και ερουσιν ανθ' ων εγκατελιπον κυριον θεον αυτων ος εξηγαγεν τους πατερας αυτων εξ αιγυπτου εξ οικου δουλειας και αντελαβοντο θεων αλλοτριων και προσεκυνησαν αυτοις και εδουλευσαν αυτοις δια τουτο επηγαγεν κυριος επ' αυτους την κακιαν ταυτην [9α] τοτε ανηγαγεν σαλωμων την θυγατερα φαραω εκ πολεως δαυιδ εις οικον αυτου ον ωκοδομησεν εαυτω εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις
10 At the end of the twenty years that it took Solomon to erect the two buildings, the Temple of Yahwehand the royal palace	10 εικοσι ετη εν οις ωκοδομησεν σαλωμων τους δυο οικους τον οικον κυριου και τον οικον του βασιλεως
11 (Hiram king of Tyre had provided Solomon with al the cedar wood, juniper wood and gold that hewanted), King Solomon gave Hiram twenty towns in the territory of Galilee.	11 χιραμ βασιλευς τυρου αντελαβετο του σαλωμων εν ξυλοις κεδρινοις και εν ξυλοις πευκινοις και εν χρυσιω και εν παντι θεληματι αυτου τοτε εδωκεν ο βασιλευς τω χιραμ εικοσι πολεις εν τη γη τη γαλιλαια
12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to view the towns that Solomon had given him, he was not pleasedwith them.	12 και εξηλθεν χιραμ εκ τυρου και επορευθη εις την γαλιλαιαν του ιδειν τας πολεις ας εδωκεν αυτω σαλωμων και ουκ ηρεσαν αυτω
13 He said, 'What kind of towns are these you have given me, brother?' And to this day they are known as'cabul-land'.	13 και ειπεν τι αι πολεις αυται ας εδωκας μοι αδελφε και εκαλεσεν αυτας οριον εως της ημερας ταυτης
14 Hiram sent the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.	14 και ηνεγκεν χιραμ τω σαλωμων εκατον και εικοσι ταλαντα χρυσιου
15 This is an account of the forced labour levied by King Solomon for building the Temple of Yahweh, hisown palace, the Mil o and the fortifications of Jerusalem, Hazor, Megiddo, Gezer	15 -
16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt mounted an expedition, captured Gezer, burnt it down and massacred theCanaanites living there; he then gave the town as a dowry to his daughter, Solomon's wife,	16 -
17 and Solomon rebuilt Gezer), Lower Beth-Horon,	17 -
18 Baalath, Tamar in the desert, inside the country,	18 -
19 al Solomon's storage towns owned by Solomon, al the towns for his chariots and horses, andwhatever Solomon was pleased to build in Jerusalem, in the Lebanon and in al the countries under his rule.	19 -
20 Al those who survived of the Amorite, Hittite, Perizzite, Hivite and Jebusite peoples, who were notIsraelites-	20 -
21 their descendants still remaining in the country on whom the Israelites had not been able to enforce thecurse of destruction -- these Solomon levied as forced labourers, as is stil the case today.	21 -
22 Solomon did not, however, impose forced labour on the Israelites; for they were soldiers, his officials,his administrators, his officers and his chariot and cavalry commanders.	22 -
23 There were five hundred and fifty officials in charge of the foremen over Solomon's work, whosupervised the people employed on the work.	23 -
24 After Pharaoh's daughter had moved from the City of David up to the palace which he had built for her,he then built the Mil o.	24 -
25 Three times a year Solomon presented burnt offerings and communion sacrifices on the altar which hehad built for Yahweh and set his burnt offerings smoking before Yahweh. Thus he completed the Temple.	25 -
26 King Solomon equipped a fleet at Ezion-Geber, which is near Elath on the shores of the Red Sea, inEdom.	26 και ναυν υπερ ου εποιησεν ο βασιλευς σαλωμων εν γασιωνγαβερ την ουσαν εχομενην αιλαθ επι του χειλους της εσχατης θαλασσης εν γη εδωμ
27 For this fleet Hiram sent men of his, experienced sailors, to serve with those in Solomon's service.	27 και απεστειλεν χιραμ εν τη νηι των παιδων αυτου ανδρας ναυτικους ελαυνειν ειδοτας θαλασσαν μετα των παιδων σαλωμων
28 They went to Ophir and took on four hundred and twenty talents of gold, which they brought back toSolomon.	28 και ηλθον εις σωφηρα και ελαβον εκειθεν χρυσιου εκατον και εικοσι ταλαντα και ηνεγκαν τω βασιλει σαλωμων
