1 Kings 19

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 When Ahab told Jezebel everything that Elijah had done, and how he had put all the prophets to thesword,	1 واخبر اخآب ايزابل بكل ما عمل ايليا وكيف انه قتل جميع الانبياء بالسيف.
2 Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah to say, 'May the gods bring unnameable il s on me and worse il stoo, if by this time tomorrow I have not made your life like one of theirs!'	2 فارسلت ايزابل رسولا الى ايليا تقول هكذا تفعل الآلهة وهكذا تزيد ان لم اجعل نفسك كنفس واحد منهم في نحو هذا الوقت غدا.
3 He was afraid and fled for his life. He came to Beersheba, a town of Judah, where he left his servant.	3 فلما رأى ذلك قام ومضى لاجل نفسه وأتى الى بئر سبع التي ليهوذا وترك غلامه هناك.
4 He himself went on into the desert, a day's journey, and sitting under a furze bush wished he weredead. 'Yahweh,' he said, 'I have had enough. Take my life; I am no better than my ancestors.'	4 ثم سار في البرية مسيرة يوم حتى أتى وجلس تحت رتمة وطلب الموت لنفسه وقال قد كفى الآن يا رب خذ نفسي لانني لست خيرا من آبائي.
5 Then he lay down and went to sleep. Then al of a sudden an angel touched him and said, 'Get up andeat.'	5 واضطجع ونام تحت الرتمة واذا بملاك قد مسّه وقال قم وكل.
6 He looked round, and there at his head was a scone baked on hot stones, and a jar of water. He ateand drank and then lay down again.	6 فتطلع واذا كعكة رضف وكوز ماء عند راسه فأكل وشرب ثم رجع فاضطجع.
7 But the angel of Yahweh came back a second time and touched him and said, 'Get up and eat, or thejourney will be too long for you.'	7 ثم عاد ملاك الرب ثانية فمسّه وقال قم وكل لان المسافة كثيرة عليك.
8 So he got up and ate and drank, and strengthened by that food he walked for forty days and fortynights until he reached Horeb, God's mountain.	8 فقام وأكل وشرب وسار بقوة تلك الأكلة اربعين نهارا واربعين ليلة الى جبل الله حوريب
9 There he went into a cave and spent the night there. Then the word of Yahweh came to him saying,'What are you doing here, Elijah?'	9 ودخل هناك المغارة وبات فيها وكان كلام الرب اليه يقول ما لك ههنا يا ايليا.
10 He replied, 'I am ful of jealous zeal for Yahweh Sabaoth, because the Israelites have abandoned yourcovenant, have torn down your altars and put your prophets to the sword. I am the only one left, and now theywant to kil me.'	10 فقال قد غرت غيرة للرب اله الجنود لان بني اسرائيل قد تركوا عهدك ونقضوا مذابحك وقتلوا انبياءك بالسيف فبقيت انا وحدي وهم يطلبون نفسي ليأخذوها.
11 Then he was told, 'Go out and stand on the mountain before Yahweh.' For at that moment Yahwehwas going by. A mighty hurricane split the mountains and shattered the rocks before Yahweh. But Yahweh wasnot in the hurricane. And after the hurricane, an earthquake. But Yahweh was not in the earthquake.	11 فقال اخرج وقف على الجبل امام الرب. واذا بالرب عابر وريح عظيمة وشديدة قد شقت الجبال وكسرت الصخور امام الرب ولم يكن الرب في الريح. وبعد الريح زلزلة ولم يكن الرب في الزلزلة
12 And after the earthquake, fire. But Yahweh was not in the fire. And after the fire, a light murmuring sound.	12 وبعد الزلزلة نار ولم يكن الرب في النار. وبعد النار صوت منخفض خفيف.
13 And when Elijah heard this, he covered his face with his cloak and went out and stood at the entranceof the cave. Then a voice came to him, which said, 'What are you doing here, Elijah?'	13 فلما سمع ايليا لف وجهه بردائه وخرج ووقف في باب المغارة. واذا بصوت اليه يقول ما لك ههنا يا ايليا.
14 He replied, 'I am ful of jealous zeal for Yahweh, God Sabaoth, because the Israelites haveabandoned your covenant, have torn down your altars and put your prophets to the sword. I am the only one leftand now they want to kil me.'	14 فقال غرت غيرة للرب اله الجنود لان بني اسرائيل قد تركوا عهدك ونقضوا مذابحك وقتلوا انبياءك بالسيف فبقيت انا وحدي وهم يطلبون نفسي ليأخذوها.
15 'Go,' Yahweh said, 'go back by the same way to the desert of Damascus. You must go and anointHazael as king of Aram.	15 فقال له الرب اذهب راجعا في طريقك الى برية دمشق وادخل وامسح حزائيل ملكا على ارام
16 You must anoint Jehu son of Nimshi as king of Israel, and anoint Elisha son of Shaphat, of Abel-Meholah, as prophet to succeed you.	16 وامسح ياهو بن نمشي ملكا على اسرائيل وامسح اليشع بن شافاط من آبل محولة نبيا عوضا عنك.
17 Anyone who escapes the sword of Hazael wil be put to death by Jehu; and anyone who escapes thesword of Jehu wil be put to death by Elisha.	17 فالذي ينجو من سيف حزائيل يقتله ياهو والذي ينجو من سيف ياهو يقتله اليشع.
18 But I shal spare seven thousand in Israel; all the knees that have not bent before Baal, al the mouthsthat have not kissed him.'	18 وقد ابقيت في اسرائيل سبعة آلاف كل الركب التي لم تجث للبعل وكل فم لم يقبّله
19 Leaving there, he came on Elisha son of Shaphat as he was ploughing behind twelve yoke of oxen,he himself being with the twelfth. Elijah passed near to him and threw his cloak over him.	19 فذهب من هناك ووجد اليشع بن شافاط يحرث واثنا عشر فدان بقر قدامه وهو مع الثاني عشر فمرّ ايليا به وطرح رداءه عليه.
20 Elisha left his oxen and ran after Elijah. 'Let me kiss my father and mother, then I wil fol ow you,' hesaid. Elijah answered, 'Go, go back; for have I done anything to you?'	20 فترك البقر وركض وراء ايليا وقال دعني اقبل ابي وامي واسير وراءك. فقال له اذهب راجعا لاني ماذا فعلت لك.
21 Elisha turned away, took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He used the oxen's tackle for cookingthe meat, which he gave the people to eat. He then rose and, following Elijah, became his servant.	21 فرجع من ورائه واخذ فدان بقر وذبحهما وسلق اللحم بأدوات البقر واعطى الشعب فأكلوا. ثم قام ومضى وراء ايليا وكان يخدمه
