1 Corinthians 10

1 I do not want you to be unaware, brothers, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and all passed through the sea,	1 ולא אכחד מכם אחי אשר אבותינו היו כלם תחת הענן וכלם עברו בתוך הים
2 and all of them were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea.	2 וכלם נטבלו למשה בענן ובים
3 All ate the same spiritual food,	3 וכלם אכלם מאכל אחד רוחני
4 and all drank the same spiritual drink, for they drank from a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was the Christ.	4 וכלם שתו משקה אחד רוחני כי שתו מן הצור הרוחני ההלך עמהם והצור ההוא היה המשיח
5 Yet God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the desert.	5 אבל ברבם לא רצה האלהים ופגריהם נפלו במדבר
6 These things happened as examples for us, so that we might not desire evil things, as they did.	6 וכל זאת היתה לנו למופת לבלתי התאות לרעה כאשר התאוו גם המה
7 And do not become idolaters, as some of them did, as it is written, "The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to revel."	7 ולא תהיו עבדי אלילים כאשר היו מקצתם כמו שכתוב וישב העם לאכל ושתו ויקמו לצחק
8 Let us not indulge in immorality as some of them did, and twenty-three thousand fell within a single day.	8 ולא נהיה זנים כאשר זנו מקצתם ויפלו ביום אחד שלשה ועשרים אלף איש
9 Let us not test Christ as some of them did, and suffered death by serpents.	9 ולא ננסה את המשיח כאשר נסוהו מקצתם ויאבדום הנחשים
10 Do not grumble as some of them did, and suffered death by the destroyer.	10 גם לא תלינו כאשר הלינו מקצתם וימותו ביד המשחית
11 These things happened to them as an example, and they have been written down as a warning to us, upon whom the end of the ages has come.	11 כל זאת מצאתם להיות למופת ותכתב למוסר לנו אשר הגיעו אלינו קצי העולמים
12 Therefore, whoever thinks he is standing secure should take care not to fall.	12 לכן החשב שהוא נצב ירא פן יפול
13 No trial has come to you but what is human. God is faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the trial he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear it.	13 עדין לא בא עליכם נסיון אחר בלתי אם נסיון בני אדם כי נאמן הוא האלהים אשר לא יניח לנסות אתכם למעלה מיכלתכם כי אם יתן עם הנסיון גם תוצאתיו כדי שתוכלו שאת
14 Therefore, my beloved, avoid idolatry.	14 על כן חביבי נוסו מעבודת אלילים
15 I am speaking as to sensible people; judge for yourselves what I am saying.	15 כמו אל נבונים מדבר אנכי ושפטו אתם את אשר אמר
16 The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?	16 כוס הברכה אשר אנחנו מברכים הלא היא התחברות דם המשיח והלחם אשר אנחנו בצעים הלא הוא התחברות גוף המשיח
17 Because the loaf of bread is one, we, though many, are one body, for we all partake of the one loaf.	17 כי לחם אחד הוא לכן גם נוף אחד אנחנו הרבים באשר לכלנו חלק בלחם האחד
18 Look at Israel according to the flesh; are not those who eat the sacrifices participants in the altar?	18 ראו את ישראל לפי הבשר הלא אכלי הזבחים חברי המזבח המה
19 So what am I saying? That meat sacrificed to idols is anything? Or that an idol is anything?	19 ועתה מה אמר היש ממש באליל אם יש ממש בזבחי אלילים
20 No, I mean that what they sacrifice, (they sacrifice) to demons, not to God, and I do not want you to become participants with demons.	20 אלא את אשר יזבחו הגוים לשדים הם זבחים ולא לאלהים ואני לא אחפץ היתכם חברים לשדים
21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and also the cup of demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.	21 לא תוכלו לשתות יחד כוס אדנינו וגם כוס השדים ולא תוכלו להתחבר אל שלחן אדנינו וגם אל שלחן השדים
22 Or are we provoking the Lord to jealous anger? Are we stronger than he?	22 הנעז להקניא את אדנינו הכי חזקים אנחנו ממנו
23 "Everything is lawful," but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is lawful," but not everything builds up.	23 הכל ברשותי אבל אין הכל מועיל הכל ברשותי אבל אין הכל בנה
24 No one should seek his own advantage, but that of his neighbor.	24 איש איש אל יבקש את תועלת עצמו כי אם את תועלת רעהו
25 Eat anything sold in the market, without raising questions on grounds of conscience,	25 כל הנמכר במקולין אתו תאכלו ואל תחקרו מפני מכשל הלב
26 for "the earth and its fullness are the Lord's."	26 כי ליהוה הארץ ומלואה
27 If an unbeliever invites you and you want to go, eat whatever is placed before you, without raising questions on grounds of conscience.	27 ואם יקרא אתכם איש מאשר אינם מאמינים ותרצו ללכת אליו אכול תאכלו מכל אשר ישימו לפניכם ואל תחקרו מפני מכשול הלב
28 But if someone says to you, "This was offered in sacrifice," do not eat it on account of the one who called attention to it and on account of conscience;	28 ואיש כי יאמר אליכם זה הוא זבח אלילים אל תאכלו בעבור המודיע ומפני מכשול הלב כי ליהוה הארץ ולמואה
29 I mean not your own conscience, but the other's. For why should my freedom be determined by someone else's conscience?	29 והלב אשר אני אמר לא לבך כי אם לב רעך כי למה זה תשפט חרותי על ידי לב האחר
30 If I partake thankfully, why am I reviled for that over which I give thanks?	30 ואם אכל אני בתודה למה אהיה מגדף על הדבר אשר אני מודה עליו
31 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.	31 לכן אם תאכלו או אם תשתו או כל אשר תעשו את הכל עשו לכבוד אלהים
32 Avoid giving offense, whether to Jews or Greeks or the church of God,	32 ואל תתנו מכשול לא ליהודים ולא ליונים ולא לקהלת אלהים
33 just as I try to please everyone in every way, not seeking my own benefit but that of the many, that they may be saved.	33 כאשר גם אנכי מבקש להיות רצוי לכל בכל ולא אבקש תועלת עצמי כי אם של הרבים למען יושעו
