In you, LORD, I take refuge; let me never be put to shame.1 A Psalm according to Solomon.
In your justice rescue and deliver me; listen to me and save me!2 Give your judgment, O God, to the king, and your justice to the king’s son, to judge your people with justice and your poor with judgment.
Be my rock and refuge, my secure stronghold; for you are my rock and fortress.3 Let the mountains take up peace for the people, and the hills, justice.
My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked, from the clutches of the violent.4 He will judge the poor of the people, and he will bring salvation to the sons of the poor. And he will humble the false accuser.
You are my hope, Lord; my trust, GOD, from my youth.5 And he will remain, with the sun and before the moon, from generation to generation.
On you I depend since birth; from my mother's womb you are my strength; my hope in you never wavers.6 He will descend like rain upon fleece, and like showers showering upon the earth.
I have become a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge!7 In his days, justice will rise like the sun, with abundance of peace, until the moon is taken away.
My mouth shall be filled with your praise, shall sing your glory every day.8 And he will rule from sea to sea and from the river to the limits of the whole world.
Do not cast me aside in my old age; as my strength fails, do not forsake me.9 In his sight, the Ethiopians will fall prostrate, and his enemies will lick the ground.
For my enemies speak against me; they watch and plot against me.10 The kings of Tarshish and the islands will offer gifts. The kings of Arabia and of Seba will bring gifts.
They say, "God has abandoned that one Pursue, seize the wretch! No one will come to the rescue!"11 And all the kings of the earth shall adore him. All nations will serve him.
God, do not stand far from me; my God, hasten to help me.12 For he will free the poor from the powerful, and the poor one who has no helper.
Bring to a shameful end those who attack me; Cover with contempt and scorn those who seek my ruin.13 He will spare the poor and the indigent, and he will bring salvation to the souls of the poor.
I will always hope in you and add to all your praise.14 He will redeem their souls from usuries and from iniquity, and their names shall be honorable in his sight.
My mouth shall proclaim your just deeds, day after day your acts of deliverance, though I cannot number them all.15 And he will live, and to him will be given from the gold of Arabia, and by him they will always adore. They will bless him all day long.
I will speak of the mighty works of the Lord; O GOD, I will tell of your singular justice.16 And there will be a firmament on earth, at the summits of mountains: its fruits will be extolled above Lebanon, and those of the city will flourish like the grass of the earth.
God, you have taught me from my youth; to this day I proclaim your wondrous deeds.17 May his name be blessed forever; may his name remain before the sun. And all the tribes of the earth will be blessed in him. All nations will magnify him.
Now that I am old and gray, do not forsake me, God, That I may proclaim your might to all generations yet to come, Your power18 Blessed is the Lord, God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.
and justice, God, to the highest heaven. You have done great things; O God, who is your equal?19 And blessed is the name of his majesty in eternity. And all the earth will be filled with his majesty. Amen. Amen.
You have sent me many bitter afflictions, but once more revive me. From the watery depths of the earth once more raise me up.20 The praises of David, the son of Jesse, have reached an end.
Restore my honor; turn and comfort me,
That I may praise you with the lyre for your faithfulness, my God, And sing to you with the harp, O Holy One of Israel!
My lips will shout for joy as I sing your praise; my soul, too, which you have redeemed.
Yes, my tongue shall recount your justice day by day. For those who sought my ruin will have been shamed and disgraced.
