Psalms 71

1 In you, LORD, I take refuge; let me never be put to shame.	1 A ti, Yahveh, me acojo, ¡no sea confundido jamás!
2 In your justice rescue and deliver me; listen to me and save me!	2 ¡Por tu justicia sálvame, libérame! tiende hacia mí tu oído y sálvame!
3 Be my rock and refuge, my secure stronghold; for you are my rock and fortress.	3 ¡Sé para mí una roca de refugio, alcázar fuerte que me salve, pues mi roca eres tú y mi fortaleza.
4 My God, rescue me from the power of the wicked, from the clutches of the violent.	4 ¡Dios mío, líbrame de la mano del impío, de las garras del perverso y del violento!
5 You are my hope, Lord; my trust, GOD, from my youth.	5 Pues tú eres mi esperanza, Señor, Yahveh, mi confianza desde mi juventud.
6 On you I depend since birth; from my mother's womb you are my strength; my hope in you never wavers.	6 En ti tengo mi apoyo desde el seno, tú mi porción desde las entrañas de mi madre; ¡en ti sin cesar mi alabanza!
7 I have become a portent to many, but you are my strong refuge!	7 Soy el asombro de muchos, mas tú eres mi seguro refugio.
8 My mouth shall be filled with your praise, shall sing your glory every day.	8 Mi boca está repleta de tu loa, de tu gloria todo el día.
9 Do not cast me aside in my old age; as my strength fails, do not forsake me.	9 A la hora de mi vejez no me rechaces, no me abandones cuando decae mi vigor.
10 For my enemies speak against me; they watch and plot against me.	10 Porque de mí mis enemigos hablan, los que espían mi alma se conciertan:
11 They say, "God has abandoned that one Pursue, seize the wretch! No one will come to the rescue!"	11 «¡Dios le ha desamparado, perseguidle, apresadle, pues no hay quien le libere!»
12 God, do not stand far from me; my God, hasten to help me.	12 ¡Oh Dios, no te estés lejos de mí, Dios mío, ven pronto en mi socorro!
13 Bring to a shameful end those who attack me; Cover with contempt and scorn those who seek my ruin.	13 ¡Confusión y vergüenza sobre aquellos que acusan a mi alma; cúbranse de ignominia y de vergüenza los que buscan mi mal!
14 I will always hope in you and add to all your praise.	14 Y yo, esperando sin cesar, más y más te alabaré;
15 My mouth shall proclaim your just deeds, day after day your acts of deliverance, though I cannot number them all.	15 publicará mi boca tu justicia, todo el día tu salvación.
16 I will speak of the mighty works of the Lord; O GOD, I will tell of your singular justice.	16 Y vendré a las proezas de Yahveh, recordaré tu justicia, tuya sólo.
17 God, you have taught me from my youth; to this day I proclaim your wondrous deeds.	17 ¡Oh Dios, desde mi juventud me has instruido, y yo he anunciado hasta hoy tus maravillas!
18 Now that I am old and gray, do not forsake me, God, That I may proclaim your might to all generations yet to come, Your power	18 Y ahora que llega la vejez y las canas, ¡oh Dios, no me abandones!, para que anuncie yo tu brazo a todas las edades venideras, ¡tu poderío
19 and justice, God, to the highest heaven. You have done great things; O God, who is your equal?	19 y tu justicia, oh Dios, hasta los cielos! Tú que has hecho grandes cosas, ¡oh Dios!, ¿quién como tú?
20 You have sent me many bitter afflictions, but once more revive me. From the watery depths of the earth once more raise me up.	20 Tú que me has hecho ver tantos desastres y desgracias, has de volver a recobrarme. Vendrás a sacarme de los abismos de la tierra,
21 Restore my honor; turn and comfort me,	21 sustentarás mi ancianidad, volverás a consolarme,
22 That I may praise you with the lyre for your faithfulness, my God, And sing to you with the harp, O Holy One of Israel!	22 Y yo te daré gracias con las cuerdas del arpa, por tu verdad, Dios mío; para ti salmodiaré a la cítara, oh Santo de Israel.
23 My lips will shout for joy as I sing your praise; my soul, too, which you have redeemed.	23 Exultarán mis labios cuando salmodie para ti, y mi alma, que tú has rescatado.
24 Yes, my tongue shall recount your justice day by day. For those who sought my ruin will have been shamed and disgraced.	24 También mi lengua todo el día musitará tu justicia: porque han sido avergonzados, porque han enrojecido, los que buscaban mi desgracia.
