Psalms 64

¹ For the leader. A psalm of David.	¹ In finem. Psalmus David, canticum Jeremiæ et Ezechielis populo transmigrationis, cum inciperent exire.
² O God, hear my anguished voice; from the foes I dread protect my life.	² Te decet hymnus, Deus, in Sion, et tibi reddetur votum in Jerusalem.
³ Hide me from the malicious crowd, the mob of evildoers.	³ Exaudi orationem meam ; ad te omnis caro veniet.
⁴ They sharpen their tongues like swords, ready their bows for arrows of poison words.	⁴ Verba iniquorum prævaluerunt super nos, et impietatibus nostris tu propitiaberis.
⁵ They shoot at the innocent from ambush, shoot without risk, catch them unawares.	⁵ Beatus quem elegisti et assumpsisti : inhabitabit in atriis tuis. Replebimur in bonis domus tuæ ; sanctum est templum tuum,
⁶ They resolve on their wicked plan; they conspire to set snares; they say: "Who will see us?"	⁶ mirabile in æquitate. Exaudi nos, Deus, salutaris noster, spes omnium finium terræ, et in mari longe.
⁷ They devise wicked schemes, conceal the schemes they devise; the designs of their hearts are hidden.	⁷ Præparans montes in virtute tua, accinctus potentia ;
⁸ But God will shoot arrows at them and strike them unawares.	⁸ qui conturbas profundum maris, sonum fluctuum ejus. Turbabuntur gentes,
⁹ They will be brought down by their own tongues; all who see them will shake their heads.	⁹ et timebunt qui habitant terminos a signis tuis ; exitus matutini et vespere delectabis.
¹⁰ Then all will fear and proclaim God's deed, pondering what has been done.	¹⁰ Visitasti terram, et inebriasti eam ; multiplicasti locupletare eam. Flumen Dei repletum est aquis ; parasti cibum illorum : quoniam ita est præparatio ejus.
¹¹ The just will rejoice and take refuge in the LORD; all the upright will glory in their God.	¹¹ Rivos ejus inebria ; multiplica genimina ejus : in stillicidiis ejus lætabitur germinans.
	¹² Benedices coronæ anni benignitatis tuæ, et campi tui replebuntur ubertate.
	¹³ Pinguescent speciosa deserti, et exsultatione colles accingentur.
	¹⁴ Induti sunt arietes ovium, et valles abundabunt frumento ; clamabunt, etenim hymnum dicent.
