NEW AMERICAN BIBLEVULGATA
1 For the leader. A psalm of David.1 In finem. Psalmus David, canticum Jeremiæ et Ezechielis populo transmigrationis, cum inciperent exire.
2 O God, hear my anguished voice; from the foes I dread protect my life.2 Te decet hymnus, Deus, in Sion,
et tibi reddetur votum in Jerusalem.
3 Hide me from the malicious crowd, the mob of evildoers.3 Exaudi orationem meam ;
ad te omnis caro veniet.
4 They sharpen their tongues like swords, ready their bows for arrows of poison words.4 Verba iniquorum prævaluerunt super nos,
et impietatibus nostris tu propitiaberis.
5 They shoot at the innocent from ambush, shoot without risk, catch them unawares.5 Beatus quem elegisti et assumpsisti :
inhabitabit in atriis tuis.
Replebimur in bonis domus tuæ ;
sanctum est templum tuum,
6 They resolve on their wicked plan; they conspire to set snares; they say: "Who will see us?"6 mirabile in æquitate.
Exaudi nos, Deus, salutaris noster,
spes omnium finium terræ, et in mari longe.
7 They devise wicked schemes, conceal the schemes they devise; the designs of their hearts are hidden.7 Præparans montes in virtute tua,
accinctus potentia ;
8 But God will shoot arrows at them and strike them unawares.8 qui conturbas profundum maris,
sonum fluctuum ejus.
Turbabuntur gentes,
9 They will be brought down by their own tongues; all who see them will shake their heads.9 et timebunt qui habitant terminos a signis tuis ;
exitus matutini et vespere delectabis.
10 Then all will fear and proclaim God's deed, pondering what has been done.10 Visitasti terram, et inebriasti eam ;
multiplicasti locupletare eam.
Flumen Dei repletum est aquis ; parasti cibum illorum :
quoniam ita est præparatio ejus.
11 The just will rejoice and take refuge in the LORD; all the upright will glory in their God.11 Rivos ejus inebria ;
multiplica genimina ejus :
in stillicidiis ejus lætabitur germinans.
12 Benedices coronæ anni benignitatis tuæ,
et campi tui replebuntur ubertate.
13 Pinguescent speciosa deserti,
et exsultatione colles accingentur.
14 Induti sunt arietes ovium,
et valles abundabunt frumento ;
clamabunt, etenim hymnum dicent.
